If you insult me like this one more time I will put you on ignore. From now on, make an INFORMED reply, and not the standard anti-Catholic myth making and arrogance about Marian devotion and practice. Sorry, but I don't have the patience to be changing your diapers with every one of your posts.

Asking honest questions is fine, but I know the difference between an honest question, and an insult disused as a question. Here is the best resource about Mary that I have found so far:
THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY INDEX PAGE
Try a few of the dozens of articles, and ask questions based on what you have read. Give me a link or a title so I know what you are talking about.
Make an INFORMED reply or question, not the standard MISINFORMATION so prevalent with Protestants.
I really don't believe that this member intended in anyway to insult you but you certainly did insult him. I have followed his posts for years and while we have often disagreed he is always respectful.

I was born and raised a Catholic but early on I had serious concerns that the adoration and prayers to Mary were not scripturally sound. I do believe that she gave birth to Jesus by a miraculous conception and she should be respected as the mother of Jesus but don't feel that it is a sound biblical practice to pray to her. Also, it is clear to me from scripture that she was a sinner also just like everyone else. Also, she had a few children after the birth of Jesus.

I was taught to believe by the church that she remained a virgin until she was taken up to heaven without dying. The bible makes no mention that she was taken up to heaven without dying but it is made quite clear that she had a household full of kids besides her first-born son. Praying the rosary is really just vain repetition praying to someone that has no authority or power to answer a prayer.

If it gives you comfort to talk and pray to her that's fine but don't get angry when a member disagrees with you regarding your beliefs about her, regardless if they are accurate or not. The best source to learn about Mary is the bible and not outside sources of information that are contrary to scripture.

The very name Catholic Church contradicts itself.....

The word translated church -->Ekklesia = LOCAL VISIBLE BODY so........

THE UNIVERSAL LOCAL VISIBLE BODY is a contradiction in and of itself.......NOT to mention ALL the false dogmas.....

MATH contradicts the Catholic Church

There is 1 (ONE) mediator between GOD and MEN, the MAN Christ JESUS

JESUS is 1

JESUS "1" plus MARY = 2
JESUS "1" plus the POPE = 2
JESUS "1" plus a priest = 2
Jesus "1" plus ANYONE = MORE than 1 (ONE)

Call NO MAN FATHER on this EARTH
THE POPE is NOT the VICAR of GOD
PAY for indulgences
Purgatory
Sacramental Salvation
Mary being able to intercede
Priests absolving sins
Singing ALL HAIL MARY or saying HAIL MARY(s)
WAFER and WINE turning into the actual FLESH and BLOOD of Christ
Sprinkling as mode of BAPTISM
Not allowing Priests to marry
etc.

ALL contrary to scripture................the list is too long to even begin to type out!

Islam will have taken over Roman Catholicism by that time. Rome will absorb the protestants and then Islam will absorb Rome. The false prophet will be the head of this one world religion.

For the cause of Christ

There is no such thing as a one world religion coming. Go ahead, quote the 'one world religion' verses the 'experts' use to supposedly prove it. It's just NOT there.

Nevermind, I'll quote them for you...

Here are the verses the experts use to justify a unified one world religion.

Rev. 17 the entire chapter. I would like to know where, but chances are it comes from the "experts" lack of a sensible hermeneutic by misinterpreting the word ALL.

1 Timothy 4:1-3 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Catholicism will have nothing to do with the end other than fight the Muslim's right along side us. The third jihad is coming...i.e. the last and final round of the crusades.

There's not ONE verse of prophecy that points to Rome. EVERY nation mentioned in end-time prophecy is Arab, Persian, and Islamic today.

There is no such thing as a global dictator, one world government, one world religion, or global mark of the beast. What makes any of you think that all of the world's governments would somehow just relinquish their governing authority to ONE man? What makes any of you think all of the world's religions would somehow unite under one false prophet?

I know….it's what you've been taught!

None of the early reformers taught that Mary was a sinner and she had other children. I haven't found ONE Protestant church that taught otherwise up until after the "Enlightenment" with the formation of MODERNISM. a.k.a. The Synthesis of All Heresies. So what happened? A small number of liberal modernists introduced new theories about Mary. A sinner with children had never been accepted by any church before the turn of the 19th century. They are traditions of men and they are out of harmony with what has been understood since the time of the Apostles. (Mariology developed over time like everything else, "development" does not mean change)
This article, based on "Bible alone" principle, shows how "Mary had other children" theory doesn't fit with Scripture.
Jesus' "Brothers" and Mary's Perpetual Virginity
Then, if you have the time, make a list of all Jesus' immediate family members when He went to the Temple in Luke 2:41-52.

I hope you like Celine Dion

The One World Government theory is fueled by anti-Catholics to divert from the encyclical "Our Common Home" focusing on climate change as an excuse.
It takes a little understanding of the Church's teachings on ecumenism to realize the a OWG led or influenced by the Pope is IMPOSSIBLE. And a One World Religion is even more ridiculous.

UN WANTS TO CONTROL CATHOLIC CHURCH
The United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child has just released (February 6, 2014.) a report on the way the Vatican has responded to the sexual abuse of minors by priests. The 15-page report contains not a single footnote, endnote, or any other mode of attribution. But it does provide plenty of evidence as to its real agenda.

The U.N. panel is using the sexual abuse of minors as a pretext for its true objective: it wants the Vatican to submit to its authority, and not just in instances involving international law—it wants the Catholic Church to change Canon Law and to adopt a secular sexual ethics. As such, it is one of the most ambitious power-grab efforts ever undertaken by a U.N. committee. The panel is also profoundly ignorant of the data.

It is quite explicit: “The Committee recommends that the Holy See undertake a comprehensive review of its normative framework, in particular Canon Law, with a view to ensuring its full compliance with the Convention.”

In other words, the teaching body of the Catholic Church, the Magisterium, i.e., the pope in communion with the bishops, should yield to the U.N. This would be the equivalent of asking the United States Congress to make sure its laws are in compliance with U.N. strictures. Hubris is too mild a word to describe this unmitigated arrogance.

On pp. 12-13, the panel says it wants the Catholic Church to change its teachings on abortion and contraception; it also says the Church needs to do more about HIV/AIDS.

It is painfully obvious that these panelists have not thought through this issue. To wit: if everyone followed the Church’s teachings on sexuality, we would not have this problem in the first place. To be exact, those who acquire HIV/AIDS typically do so because they live a reckless life, in sharp contradistinction to the Church’s plea for restraint.

The panel is so intent on policing the Church that it demands a Canon Law change in the use of the term “illegitimate children.” It also directs the Vatican to order Catholic schools to change its textbooks, getting rid of alleged “gender stereotypes.” Not only is this another example of its abuse of power, the panel provides not a single piece of evidence to buttress its claim. Someone should also tell these experts that the Vatican does not tell Catholic schools what textbooks, or curricula, it should adopt. But to control freaks, delegation is a difficult concept to grasp.

The panel lectures the Vatican on the need for “awareness programs,” urging “systematic training” for those who work with minors. Just who do they think started these initiatives? We’re not the ones who lack mandatory training programs—the guilty parties are found in other religious communities, and in the public schools. This explains why sexual abuse is not a problem in Catholic communities today the way it is elsewhere. The panel needs to get up to speed, assuming it has any real interest in this issue.

On p. 8, the panel instructs the Vatican to end corporal punishment, saying it must amend “both Canon Law and Vatican City State laws.” Ironically, the U.N. has now detailed how 10,000 Syrian children have been killed and tortured in the last three years.

Syrian kids are being raped and beaten “with metal cabals, whips and wooden and metal batons”; they are also being subjected to “electric shocks, including to the genitals.” Their fingernails and toenails are being ripped out of them, and they are being lacerated with cigarette burns. Most of these barbaric acts are being conducted by government agents, yet there is no demand that Syrian officials yield to the U.N. It is too busy wondering if Sister Mary Alice is taking a ruler to a miscreant student.

The one attempt at providing evidence is a colossal failure: on p. 7 it cites the Magdalene Laundries as an institution that forced girls “to work in slavery like conditions and were often subject to inhuman, cruel and degrading treatment as well as to physical and sexual abuse.” This is a bald-face lie: the McAleese Report, an investigation authorized by the Irish government, shows that none of this is true. To read my analysis, “Myths of the Magdalene Laundries,” see the “Special Reports” section on the Catholic League website. The panel’s report is libelous.

Finally, the report says the Church needs to end the practice of “baby boxes.” In many countries, there are drop boxes next to orphanages; they are placed there to entice girls who are pregnant out-of-wedlock, and who cannot care for their babies, to allow others to raise their child. It is a humane practice, one that is widely practiced in South Korea. What is not humane is to kill babies in utero, which is precisely what this U.N. panel recommends.

THIS IS THE POLITICS OF THE POPE THAT HE MUST FOLLOW, HE CANNOT CHANGE THEM

. In these brief reflections, we highlight several of the key themes that are at the heart of our Catholic social tradition.

life and Dignity of the Human Person

The Catholic Church proclaims that human life is sacred and that the dignity of the human person is the foundation of a moral vision for society. This belief is the foundation of all the principles of our social teaching. In our society, human life is under direct attack from abortion and euthanasia. The value of human life is being threatened by cloning, embryonic stem cell research, and the use of the death penalty. The intentional targeting of civilians in war or terrorist attacks is always wrong. Catholic teaching also calls on us to work to avoid war. Nations must protect the right to life by finding increasingly effective ways to prevent conflicts and resolve them by peaceful means. We believe that every person is precious, that people are more important than things, and that the measure of every institution is whether it threatens or enhances the life and dignity of the human person.

DID THOSE LIARS IN THOSE VIDEOS SAY ANY OF THAT???

More on Life and Dignity of the Human Person

Call to Family, Community, and Participation
The person is not only sacred but also social. How we organize our society -- in economics and politics, in law and policy -- directly affects human dignity and the capacity of individuals to grow in community. Marriage and the family are the central social institutions that must be supported and strengthened, not undermined. We believe people have a right and a duty to participate in society, seeking together the common good and well-being of all, especially the poor and vulnerable.
More on Call to Family, Community, and Participation
DID THOSE LIARS SAY ANY OF THAT???

Rights and Responsibilities

The Catholic tradition teaches that human dignity can be protected and a healthy community can be achieved only if human rights are protected and responsibilities are met. Therefore, every person has a fundamental right to life and a right to those things required for human decency. Corresponding to these rights are duties and responsibilities--to one another, to our families, and to the larger society.
More on Rights and Responsibilities

DID THOSE LIARS SAY ANY OF THAT???

Option for the Poor and Vulnerable

A basic moral test is how our most vulnerable members are faring. In a society marred by deepening divisions between rich and poor, our tradition recalls the story of the Last Judgment (Mt 25:31-46) and instructs us to put the needs of the poor and vulnerable first.

More on Option for the Poor and Vulnerable

DID THOSE LIARS SAY ANY OF THAT???

The Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers

The economy must serve people, not the other way around. Work is more than a way to make a living; it is a form of continuing participation in Gods creation. If the dignity of work is to be protected, then the basic rights of workers must be respected--the right to productive work, to decent and fair wages, to the organization and joining of unions, to private property, and to economic initiative.

More on Dignity of Work and Rights of Workers

Solidarity

We are one human family whatever our national, racial, ethnic, economic, and ideological differences. We are our brothers and sisters keepers, wherever they may be. Loving our neighbor has global dimensions in a shrinking world. At the core of the virtue of solidarity is the pursuit of justice and peace. Pope Paul VI taught that if you want peace, work for justice.1 The Gospel calls us to be peacemakers. Our love for all our sisters and brothers demands that we promote peace in a world surrounded by violence and conflict.

Care for God's Creation

We show our respect for the Creator by our stewardship of creation. Care for the earth is not just an Earth Day slogan, it is a requirement of our faith. We are called to protect people and the planet, living our faith in relationship with all of Gods creation. This environmental challenge has fundamental moral and ethical dimensions that cannot be ignored.

More on Care for God's Creation

This summary should only be a starting point for those interested in Catholic social teaching. A full understanding can only be achieved by reading the papal, conciliar, and episcopal documents that make up this rich tradition.

I keep telling you guys that NOT one verse of prophecy points to Catholicism. None of you have yet quoted one verse of prophecy implying such a thing. You've been indoctrinated by people who've hated Catholicism for centuries.

It's very difficult to change the mind of a Christian, but it's worth trying the first few times around.

The word all doesn't have a universal meaning in the bible. It doesn't always mean "everything." It's one of the most misunderstood and misinterpreted words in all of Christianity. Does the bible really teach that one man would conquer the world and become a world dictator?
How would one man accomplish such an enormous task?

THE WORD ALL
In the Greek and Hebrew lexicon there are several words for all. The two most used are 'pas' and 'holos'. The word is also used some 7 or 8 different ways in the bible. Prophecy experts use Rev. 13 and 17 to support a world dictator and one world government and religion. Revelation 13 is a good chapter to explain some of the different ways the word all is used. There are dozens of examples in the bible where all never means the entirety of the whole. So I need to take this verse by verse to explain.

Revelation 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all (holos) the world wondered after the beast.

Holos means the whole ball of wax. The entire world will wonder/be amazed if someone who once was dead is resurrected. But in Revelation 13:7-8 a different word for all is used.

Revelation 13:7-8 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over ALL (pas) kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
And ALL (pas) that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

In Rev. 13:7-8 'all' is in the plural and signifies "the totality of the persons or things referred to." It's actually the word 'individually.' Notice too that it refers to those, "whose names are not written in the book of life," and EARTH....doesn't usually mean the entire planet. This is the word 'ge' which most often indicates, "the inhabited earth, the abode of men and animals a country, land enclosed within fixed boundaries, a tract of land, territory, region."

The word ALL or 'pas' means 'individually,' and in a nutshell means all those who would be within his kingdom and under his authority. It doesn't imply all the world. It implies all kindreds, tongues, and nations "within his authority and kingdom." It doesn't imply that the whole world will be under the authority of the beast, but only those subject to his power and influence.

Two different words with two different meanings. If John wanted to imply the entire word in verse 7-8 he would have used the word 'holos' and the word 'kosmos' instead of 'ge.'
______________________________________________
Daniel 7;25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Five times a day Muslim's bow toward a black rock in Mecca. The Islamic anti-Christ will 'try' to change the times Muslim's do this. He will try to change the direction and times Muslim's worship. They will no longer be required to bow toward Mecca, but bow toward the man of sin in East Jerusalem in either the Dome of the Rock, it's outer court, or the Al'aqsa mosque.

Check out the word 'worship' in verse 4 and consider what Muslim's do 5 times a day. The Greek word for worship used in the book of Revelation is proskuneo (4352) which literally means to bow down before someone.

Revelation 13:4 And they worshiped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshiped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

Strong's says,
1) to kiss the hand to (towards) one, in token of reverence.
2) among the Orientals, esp. the Persians, to fall upon the knees and touch the ground with the forehead as an expression of profound reverence.
3) in the NT by kneeling or prostration to do homage.

The Complete Word Study Dictionary says,
In the NT, generally, to do reverence or homage to someone, usually by kneeling or prostrating oneself before him.

In Revelation 13:8 the word worship is proskuneo. Bowing before someone and prostrating oneself with forehead touching the ground is the form of worship proskuneo refers to and precisely how Muslim's worship.
Revelation 13:16...

"And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:"

Again the word 'pas' is used. When 'pas' is used without the article it means "every kind or variety." Used with the article, it means "the whole of one object." In the plural it signifies "the totality of the persons or things referred to." However, the KJV has a blunder here. The KJV doesn't use the article. However, IT IS USED in the interlinear and the KJV omitted it!

V. 16 reads like this...
...all the little ones and all the great ones and the rich and the poor and the free and the slaves!
The KJV ommitted the word 'THE' six times! And the word is in the plural.

The mark is NOT imposed upon the entire earth, but only upon those within the 10/7 alliance of kings and nations in the Islamic kingdom (an Islamic Caliphate) of the men of sin.

Revelation 13 is referring to Muslim's bowing toward Mecca five times every day. A devout Muslim’s forehead touches the ground at least 34 times a day in submission to Allah's will and that can add up to more than a million prostrations in a lifetime.

It's necromancy if you take God out of the equation.

Necromancy seeking after disembodied spirits gods(3500 and rising) that the Catholic person must call "patron saints" as workers with familiar spirits takes God out the equation.

We seek after our Father in heaven according to one manner not 3500 gods and rising every time the Pope adds one to the legion.

Picking speed today .

Again after one manner. Why hallow (venerate) other gods after many fathers ?

Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

If it gives you comfort to talk and pray to her that's fine but don't get angry when a member disagrees with you regarding your beliefs about her, regardless if they are accurate or not. The best source to learn about Mary is the bible and not outside sources of information that are contrary to scripture.
That's 5 topics that I can't possible answer in one post.

Without actual scriptural proof things written about Mary are all theory and have no basis of fact regardless of the source of information. The bible clearly mentions that Jesus had brothers and sisters, one of them even wrote a book in the bible, James.

As Catholics we follow the teachings and example of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that He established a teaching Church and has given the power of it's bishops and priests to administer the Sacraments that He established. We do believe that God the Father is our Father, Who are in Heaven. Because God gave authority to His minsters, on earth, it is right to call our priests "father" since all fatherhood is traced back to God. Are their examples, in Scripture, where others are called "father" other than God? Yes, here are the verses:
  • Acts 7:2 – St. Stephen calls Jewish leaders “fathers”
  • Acts 21:40, 22:1 – St. Paul calls Jerusalem Jews “fathers”
  • Rom 4:16-17 – Abraham called the father of us all”
  • 1Cor 4:14-15 – I became your father in Christ through gospel
  • 1Tim 1:2 – my true child in our common faith
  • Heb 12:7-9 – we have earthly fathers to discipline us
  • Lk 14:26 – if anyone comes to me without hating his father…
  • 1Thess 2:11 – we treated you as a father treats his children
  • Philem 10 – whose father I became in my imprisonment
  • 1Jn 2:13, 14 – I write to you, fathers, because you know him

But this did not negate what Our Lord said in the previous verses to Peter.

Amen. Let me ask you this, Our Lord suggests that some sins can be forgiven in the world to come. If this is the case then how does this happen and where does this take place?
The word fathers is used in two ways. One as a blessing and the other as a curse.

The later Christ called a brood of vipers to indicate false prophets brining false prophecy as the oral traditions of men as a law of the fathers. Those tradition of men make the word of God of no effect.

Study the difference between the things of men seen and the things of our Father in heaven not seen. Perhaps you might get over the Peter kick and seek the approval of God not seen (the law of faith) rather then seeking the approval of men seen (walking by sight) as if the kingdom did come by observation?

Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not "the things that be of" God, but "those that be of" men.Mathew 16:22-23

Peter was forgiven of his blasphemy in respect to the Son of man, Jesus seen . But blasphemy against the Holy Spirit the Spirit of Christ not seen, cannot be forgiven .

First, a passage from the Bible about the Queen of Heaven!

”16 Then the Lord said, “As for you, Jeremiah, do not pray for these people! Do not cry out to me or petition me on their behalf! Do not plead with me to save them, because I will not listen to you. 17 Do you see what they are doing in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 18 Children are gathering firewood, fathers are building fires with it, and women are mixing dough to bake cakes to offer to the goddess they call the Queen of Heaven. They are also pouring out drink offerings to other gods. They seem to do all this just to trouble me. 19 But I am not really the one being troubled!” says the Lord. “Rather they are bringing trouble on themselves to their own shame! 20 So,” the Lord God says, “my raging fury will be poured out on this land. It will be poured out on human beings and animals, on trees and crops. And it will burn like a fire which cannot be extinguished.”

Quite simply, the Queen of a Heaven was a false goddess. By offering to her, whether veneretion or cakes, you are worshipping a false God!

The result is God is angry and and his wrath will get poured out on those that worship her.

I can’t understand why anyone would make Mary, who was the mother of Jesus, into a pagan goddess whose worship results in God’s wrath! That is wilful ignorance about what the Bible says!

Regarding the myth that Mary had no other children, I was just reading this passage, last night!

“A crowd was sitting around him and they said to him, “Look, your mother and your brothers are outside looking for you.” 33 He answered them and said, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” 34 And looking at those who were sitting around him in a circle, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.” Mark 3:32-35

First, Jesus real mother and brothers were standing outside, physically! Brothers = AdelphoI = ἀδελφοί. This means brothers, not cousin. Besides, no Jewish man would live celebate, in order to do something unnecessary, keep Mary a sort-of virgin! Because, having a baby, even one created by the Holy Spirit, realistically means a lot of major physical changes to the body, which are not present in a virgin. I believe Mary was a virgin, and the Holy Spirit helped her conceive, but she did not stay virgin,

Besides, Mary really isn’t that important the passage says above, Jesus is clear that birth connection means nothing compared to those that do the will of God.

The word fathers is used in two ways. One as a blessing and the other as a curse.
Why then do you use "father" in only one way?

Matt. 23:9 – Jesus says, “call no man father.” But Protestants use this verse in an attempt to prove that it is wrong for Catholics to call priests “father.” This is an example of “eisegesis” (imposing one’s views upon a passage) as opposed to “exegesis” (drawing out the meaning of the passage from its context). In this verse, Jesus was discouraging His followers from elevating the scribes and Pharisees to the titles of “fathers” and “rabbis” because they were hypocrites. Jesus warns us not to elevate anyone to the level of our heavenly Father.

Matt. 23:8 – in this teaching, Jesus also says not to call anyone teacher or rabbi as well. But don’t Protestants call their teachers “teacher?” What about this commandment of Jesus? When Protestants say “call no man father,” they must also argue that we cannot call any man teacher either.

Judges 17:10; 18:19 – priesthood and fatherhood have always been identified together. Fatherhood literally means “communicating one’s nature,” and just as biological fathers communicate their nature to their children, so do spiritual fathers communicate the nature of God to us, their children, through (hopefully) teaching and example.

Acts 7:2; 22:1,1 John 2:13 – elders of the Church are called “fathers.” Therefore, we should ask the question, “Why don’t Protestants call their pastors “father? Are these verses cursing the elders of the Church???

1 Cor. 4:15 – Paul writes, “I became your father in Christ Jesus.”
Philemon 10 – Paul says he has become the “father” of Onesimus.
Is Paul wrong???

1 John 2:1,13,14 – John calls the elders of the Church “fathers.”
Is John wrong too???

The later Christ called a brood of vipers to indicate false prophets brining false prophecy as the oral traditions of men as a law of the fathers. Those tradition of men make the word of God of no effect.
Jesus condemned the man made traditions the Jews invented so they would look holy by giving everything to the Temple WHILE IGNORING THEIR PARENTS. Jesus said "...YOUR traditions..." YOUR. Get it? This has nothing to do with the good traditions Paul tells us to keep. Demonizing all traditions because bad traditions can be found in the Bible is a false man made tradition in itself.

Study the difference between the things of men seen and the things of our Father in heaven not seen. Perhaps you might get over the Peter kick and seek the approval of God not seen (the law of faith) rather then seeking the approval of men seen (walking by sight) as if the kingdom did come by observation?
Did Jesus have a "Peter kick" when he changed Peter's name? When He commanded Peter to feed His lambs??? Did the first 40 Popes seek the approval of pagan Romans who killed them??? Why is that historical fact censored from all your teachings???

Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not "the things that be of" God, but "those that be of" men.Mathew 16:22-23
Peter was afraid for Jesus that He would get killed in Jerusalem. Jesus got mad at Peter for getting in the way of God's plan. Then Jesus talked about picking up our crosses and following Him. Why do you think Jesus did that immediately after scolding Peter???

Peter was forgiven of his blasphemy in respect to the Son of man, Jesus seen . But blasphemy against the Holy Spirit the Spirit of Christ not seen, cannot be forgiven .
This is a cheap excuse to bash the authority Jesus gave to Peter, and ignores that fact that Peter had not yet received the Keys of the Kingdom.

Jesus scolded Peter for his lack of understanding. Not for his teaching. Peter didn't teach anything in this scene. Not understanding something is not a blasphemy.

I am sure you are a good Christian and love the Bible, but you need to understand what context means.

Which partial verse is correct?
"...upon this ROCK I will build My Church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
"...upon this ROCK I will build My temporary Church and the gates of hell shall prevail sometime before 1517.

There are over 70 verses in the NT that indicate Peter's primacy over the Apostles and leader of the Church. Yet anti-authority Christians can only find the 3 where Peter is a bumbling idiot, as if that cancels out the rest of Peter in the New Testament.
