Has anyone heard of the book the Doctrine And Teaching Of Speaking With Tongues: Bible Concepts to Completely Define Explain and Understand What it Means to Speak in Tongues, **Amazon link removed**

It says that we are all wrong in our understanding of tongues, that tongues is neither a language given to the first disciple for them to spread the gospel nor is it a unknown prayer language to God; and not only that but the truth of tongues is only now to be revealed and that the whole Christian world is going to be in wonder when we come to know what tongues truly are, and that even our teachers are going to rethink all they understand of tongues because of the truth in the book!

What do you make of these claims! Has someone come up with an understanding that no one else has and can they prove it. I can see how tongues is not gibberish but how can they prove that tongues is not a language? If these things are true and if it can be proven, that tongues is neither a language that has ceased nor gibberish that continues today, this will be nothing short of phenomenal and much needed for our generation because of the ongoing and endless debates and confusion about tongues in the churches: benefiting I suppose, the most, those seeking this understanding; unless those who now speak in tongues can come out of their delusions; and I don’t see how they can not by a truth that shall cause the whole Christian world even our teachers to be in wonder! At least that is what it says in the description.

What do you think? Is it possible that we are all wrong, and has someone come up with the truth, and what are we to do about it?

Um... welcome to CC...

Tongues is a a controversial topic even without suggesting that nobody has a correct understanding of it.

I think I'll take a step back and order a truckload of popcorn....

Just stick to what is known. And when you speak, ensure you have understanding of what you say but most importantly, ensure you use words that the listeners understand.

1 Cor 14:38 "Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophecy, and forbid not to speak in tongues."

Matt 24:35; Mk 13:31; Lu 21:33 "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."

1 Cor 13:10-12 "But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known."

When we know the Lord as well as he knows us then tongues and the other gifts of the Spirit will have ceased, but for now we still only know in part! When Jesus comes, we'll see him face to face; but when we received the NT scriptures: How can we see them face to face? Let me ask, what is perfect, Jesus, our God and King or the scriptures which testify of him by the ministry of the Holy Spirit?

Rom 12:6 "Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophecy according to the proportion of faith;"

1 Cor 12:7 "But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal."

So, based upon the above verses, we can see that the gifts of the Spirit operate by faith, which makes it hard to function in a gift of the Spirit, if that one doesn't even believe that the gifts of the Spirit are available to us today. Which begs us to ask, why were the gifts of the Spirit given to us in the first place? Seems more than odd for the Lord to tell us that the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal and then have them to be done away with because we've received the NT scriptures that teach us of the gifts of the Spirit in the first place.

Eph 4:11-13 "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: till we all come in the unity of faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."

Heb 2:3,4 "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will."

So, the gifts of the Spirit were given for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ and given to us for the Lord to bear witness of salvation. Have the saints been perfected as of yet? Is the work of the ministry, finished? Does the body of Christ no longer need edifying? Have we attained to the unity of the faith? Have we been perfected? Have we all attained to the fullness of the stature of Christ? Does the Lord no longer bear us witness? The answer to each of these questions has got to be: No! So here we can see that the reasons for the gifts of the Spirit to be given to us in the first place are still just as valid today.

It will be a hard thing to stand before Jesus and explain why we didn't believe him in the scriptures because it was taught by man that the gifts of the Spirit ended based only upon the definition of who or what, "that which is perfect," is.

But perfect already came.

1 John 4:16 And we have come to know and believe the love that God has for us. God is love; whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him. 17In this way, love has been perfected among us, so that we may have confidence on the day of judgment; for in thisworld we are just like Him. 18There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love.

When I was a Christian "new revelation" was translated into "new deception" in my mind.
In the mind of God also. Its why he sends a strong delusion to those who believe the lie.

Why would one desire to go above that which is written?

God heals indiscriminately .No such thing as Charismaticism.

We walk by faith the unseen eternal. not by sight as that seen the temporal .

The kingdom of God does not come by observation,.... observing the experiences we have in theses bodies of death is not a source of the faith of God.

The foundation (Isaiah 28) as to the reason of God bringing new inspired revelationa as the word of God prophecy in all the languages of the world and not the Hebrew alone . It is ignored by those who refuse to hear God through prophecy . They chase after the oral traditions of men as sign gifts that make the word of God as prophecy without effect.

They teach the sign confirms they have the Holy Spirit . The bible says just the opposite making the oral traditions of men who seek after signs without effect. No man can serve two teaching masters . The written things of God and the oral traditions of men.

Earthly inspired of the father of liesor hevenly inspired from God . why turn things upside down to take away the understanding of God?

Which teaching master will we serve today. that of God or those of men?
I
saiah 29:16
Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?

Groups are charismatic by the definition of the word, charismatic. It is not an ideology, it is just one of the spiritual realities of believing Jesus, Yeshua.

When I came to believe and received the Holy Spirit, it was not by others laying hands or teaching or praying for me. It was the result of my coming on my knees to Whoever You Are in heaven.........followed by a series of what some would call miracles, I call normal activity of our Father.

And, Yes I was brought to a home grup' of worshipers, and they were, are, chasrismatic, no denomination.. No, they are not THE CHURCH, but they form part of the Body of Christ.

If any within believe it is a denomination, well, they are not quite up to date with the Holy Spirit Who brings all who believe Jesus Christ to Him how He chooses, not how others do.

It has been my ownexperience when someone is healed or the gift of knowledge or any other work of God has been given me to be used, the Holy Spirit has come over me and directed me.

It has only been after any of these events occurred I realized I had been used for a miracle of one work or another, and I know always I did nothing except be there to be used. So, yes, in this sense, God is indiscriminate when He heals. All glory is His, amen.

I know this is a lie. Be humble and God will lift you. If you think you have the gift of healing, why don't you go to the hospital and confirm?

I have not claimed to be a healer, a worker of mircacles, or anything other, but I have recounted having been used. I did nothing except be there.

Now that you have made yourself judge, jury and sentencing director, I think you should humble yourself and ask God's forgiveness.

The people God used me for would have to differ with you, but at present they are not avaiable. If I were lyig, then what good would it do me, at 75 living isolated and sharing God's goodness with others from my PC?

You seem to be a very mighty man, all one need do is ask you8.

Only recounting how you are being used ha? and how many of you will continue recounting?

Matt 7:21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

You fail to realize the times and seasons we are in actually. In this end times, satan has been given authority to reign and he comes with all sorts of display with miracles that serve to lie and even if possible the elect will fall. In this end times, what is asked of us is humility, patience and perseverance even to death, not miracles and signs and wonders and recounting how you are being used.

Regretfully, you are interpreting the power of Satan as though it is something new. Satan has been given power to the third heaven since time immemorial.

God is my Father, and not the father of lies, so you should guard your tongue, and your mind and your heart, for labeling a child of God a liar is almost calling that child the son of the father of lies, and in so doing calling God Satan and a liar.

My boast, if any boast is always of God......His is the glory, and yes, He has beens so humble s to use my willing service and also as His vessel to carry a wonder or two to people seeking God in Jesus Christ.

Just because the Twelve are not here today does not translate as God not working through His children. To think such shows a lack of faith.........that is a lack of believing He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Now, I will not go beyond describing what you have done, to me and to allt he Body members of God, Yeshua. God knows who you are and what you are. Unlike you, this isnot a gift given to me, that is to know your heart.........only God knows your heart,. God bless you and help you.

Precious to God is the death of his saints, says the Lord and is it not the Lord that sends pestilences (diseases), sword (wars), famine and beasts against His own people? is it not God who said that we are counted for slaughter all day as sheep for his sake?

So the idea that people go around healing others is absolutely against God.

Psalms 116: 15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.

Isa 57: 1 The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart;
the devout are taken away,
and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil.

2 Those who walk uprightly enter into peace;they find rest as they lie in death.

Rom 8:
18I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.19For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21thath the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.

22We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. 24For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, whoi have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

31What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:

“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”j
37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,k neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

From this passage alone, the idea that someone goes around or just stands there to be used by God to heal other people is just evil. For through these things, we emerge on the other side of death as conquerors not being brought back to this filthy life on earth.
You don't understand, do you?

Your understanding of the love of God is, at best, distorted.

I pray God blessyou with understanding and the thre eternal gifts, faith, hope and love, all adequately given you to please our Father. I pray this same for myself always, so it is not being arrogant nor lifted up in my own eyes to pray this for you......
