I know that's why I'm looking for ways to have faith that God will provide me a girlfriend/wife.

If you read your bible, you can see that it says a man should have a wife, so he wouldn't burn in lust, except dothackzero, he's meant to be alone. Wait.. wut?

No, there is no way you are meant to be alone, the bible says it's God's will for a man to have a wife.

So.. what's your excuse of not having faith?

I just haven't heard that type of stuff in my life enough for me to have faith in that area.

Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Okay, so it's a new semester in college. I'm actually in classes with a lot of cute girls. The problem is that I still having a problem making friends with those girl, or even talking to them. Obviously because of that I have no or almost no faith that I'll be able to get a girlfriend if I can't even talk to them.

Basically I'm asking for things I can do to change this.
Also is there anything in the Bible that could help me with this(making friends
Maybe some good preachers doing a sermon on this. Something that help increase my faith in this area.

Hi!!! well as a christian girl let me advise you about some things: don't worry if you are shy, ok, girls are always waiting that the guys make the first move but there are too many girls in these days that make the first move, don't invest your time thinking about that, when the right girl for you, that one God is preparing to you, He is God, I'm sure He has so many ways to make you know each other!

You want biblical help with your shyness, try repeating to yourself over and over: 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

Sometimes we are shy because you are afraid to be hurt, but when Holy Ghost heals any wound in our heart you don't worry of rejection because you know that no matter who rejects you God doesn't and He is more than enough.

Hope being helpful, God bless you

Piece of encouragement for you. God knows you and specially which girl is good for you and WHEN.
If you find yourself in situation where you really wish to make closer contact to some girl but you feel you absolutely can't or know way for it remember how David was chosen to king. 1 Samuel 16:7 specially the end of that. We see how they look like but God sees their hear.
I suggest to talk openly to God ALL your thoughts and wishes. If not that you would get all you ask but then that you know why and be happy of it.
We don't need more than one wife each of us, so let God do the leading and searching for us.

Finally a piece of dating advice:
"Seek first the kingom of Heaven and all the rest shall be given to you"
If you are trying to make good impression for girl you. Something romantic for example, should you first make some preparations for it. Make yourself ready and clean and so on before you meet the special one. (also spiritually)

That would be a good thing for me, but that's hasn't happened to me since kindergarden....

Matthew 7:7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."

The scripture has the "knocking" part in there for a reason. We first need to" ask" God for what we want in life, (job, wife, food, etc.), then we must "seek" out what we have asked God for by going out into places we might not be comfortable in, and to finally "knock" on the door for it to be opened, which is the act of doing.

For example, you don't get a job by sitting in your chair and wondering why you don't have a job. You get it by asking God for the strength to find a job, actively seeking job opportunities, and finally applying for them, going on interviews, and earning it.

I too was shy, lacked self confidence, wondered why I didn't have a girlfriend, but I decided to change; It wasn't getting me anywhere. I watched videos on it, read articles, but whenever I went out, I would shy up and not talk to anyone. I decided to force myself and take small steps, which worked.

I started by having small talk with cashiers and then began asking workers at a store where something was located (a restaurant, different store, etc) and if it was a girl, would give her a compliment (her eyes, hair, anything). This gave me more confidence up to the point where I could start conversations with random people based on observation, and all it took was little steps moving forward. At first, it's not easy, it's not fun, and it's going to fill you with fear, but that's normal. You have to push yourself to do it, otherwise you will be trapped in the cycle of social anxiety for the rest of your life.

Everybody can ask God anything, even those in the world. I've learn to seek him first and everything around me will get affected by his grace in a positive way, in a way that i won't espect, in his way and finally whats'better than his way for our lives...

People put too much emphasis on relationships and worry about being stigmatized as being single. If you are not a happy person by yourself then being with someone isn't really going to help either.
amen to that

You just need to loosen up and stop worrying about what people think of you. Next time you are at a social gathering where there is a girl you like, have a beer or two to help you loosen up and then go talk to her. You'll probably be amazed at how easy it is.

Except for the fact that I don't drink. :p

Maybe you should. You're real enemy is anxiety. I used to be the same way. It took me years before I realized that girls are just humans like us and not these mystical beings that run around in our dreams that we put on pedestals in our mind.

I understand where you are coming from. I went through the same thing myself not that long ago. The one thing that gives me any hope is that God has someone in store for me greater than I can even imagine! If your focus is on God, everything else will fall into place! =D

Is it so hard to strike up an akward conversation? Especially when the talk could turn into something you'd never expect.

I can say that sometimes I also cant beleive I will meet a right man for marriage - but this is from the weakness of our faith. The Lord gave us life for going to HIm, not for trying to find money, richness, family. Of course, He wants us to be happy and to make right and strong relationships. But we should be ready to stay along in case we dont meet our half. Its better to develope our internal skills, to strengthen our faith. It was a good advise for u - dint look for a girlfriend now. Spend time in praying to Lord, let Him to decide what path to give you. Blessings.

your lack of faith in getting a girlfriend or worthiness means you are questioning God's divine creation: YOU. God made you and you are wonderfully made. Don't let the darkness steal your light. SHINE!

YouTube - YOU ARE WONDERFULLY MADE (John Nuttall)

Dear Lord Bring us your comfort and love. In Jesus name we pray, amen

you have not meet the girl yet because you are not ready for a girlfriend. how can you love her when you don't know how to love yourself? make peace with yourself and God and God will place the person in your life. for now seek fellowship and comfort in your brothers and sisters in Christ. Build your faith and help others so that GOd will hear and heed your prayers.

So yeah, no luck still. Please pray that God will give me more boldness.

Hey Man,
The thing you have to remember in all this is that you don't need to just find anyone. I had fallen in love with somebody that I thought was great, until she cheated on me. My next relationship, the girl turned out to not be what I had first believed her to be. What this taught me, and what I wanted to share with you, is that you cant just meet anyone and expect to form that kind of relationship just out of nowhere.
Think of some of the things that you like to do, example, if your a comic book buff, just say hello to a girl at a comic book store. You will need to find someone who has the same interests as you, but I would strongly suggest you find out more about them in a casual instance rather than a dating environment.
What I mean by that is dont just try to rush into that kind of relationship. Start as friends so that you can learn what they are like. Just build on that.
Just dont let something like this let you loose your faith in anything. God will provide for his children. The post I read that said when God's ready for you to have one is right. Just remember that God means for a man to have a wife, and he WILL provide. Just make some friends and build.
