I know what that means.......sidebar........a conversation on the side betwixt two people, but what is the SIDEBAR option here on CC for? I clicked on it, and all it does is go back to the page I was on........

I see the term in use on detective shows when the a lawyer or judge wants to stop the proceedings due to a perceived discrepancy in the proceedings.

Yeah, pretty much what it is...........comes down to a couple of folks ONLY being in the discussion which keeps things from getting out of hand........like on the BDF sometimes......

Don't know if that is what it is here or not.

When I had a Site..........I had a Forum Page titled: One on One

Two members could start a Thread on any Subject and have a reasonable and respectful discussion without fear of others jumping in or trying to derail the Thread. If they wanted to add others, they could Invite them to join the discussion. Everyone could read the comments as the discussion progressed, but they could not join in.

I really liked that option.

The sidebar shows you what mods are online. Which members are online. Newest started threads, latest posts, etc..

I guess the equivalent on this site would be a conversation that gives you the option to add other members to the discussion. There's a drawback in this as others are not allowed to see the conversation. That one on one thread you had sounds like a good option to have. The OP can act as a moderator and limit who is still participation in the thread.

As my dear departed friend (in my mind) Gilda Radner would say…….."Never mind."
