I think we all have our strengths that could lead to our potential ministry or calling, right? I think it is worth examining. Our gifts dwell within our strengths. I know our gifts certainly empowers our lives and our faiths.

The gifts of the spirit are seen it seems most when we are using our gifts. Isn't that such a sweet dance, between our spirit and His. Now before I lose you masculine readers, let me step out of this feminine tone.

Shoot, how do I do that... I am a chick (a female person, lol). Let me get back to just doing me. And let me just get to asking you. I would love to hear about your gifts and how you came to know that they are your gifts. Do your gifts have a history or a story? Were they discovered and developed with self exploration or through others telling you? Are they what inspired your ministry or are they your ministry? I welcome the opportunity to know y'all better.

I'll tell you what, you CC dwellers, so many I read here are such beautiful thinkers. I believe God is using you, truly. Hey, He teaches us to focus on that which is praise worthy; therefore, I'm not blowing smoke, just applying His instruction.

Thank you, big time... Humility is definitely one of your strengths and indeed His love is everything we will ever need. He is the very best gift, all wrapped up in His Divine Grace.

In school I could not read a book report in front of the class without rattling my knees off as I was very shy.....I went through the Marines and a period of drugs after the Marines (been on all sides of the proverbial track)....when I moved to get right and attended church 3 times a week, read bible morning and night, started witnessing, went to seminary to make up for lost bible study time and had to study through bible twice a year in seminary......I began to give devotionals and then teach....now after 32 years of study and teaching I have filled in at, preached or taught revivals at upwards of 30 churches, church camps, been on two different radio stations, cable t.v., internet, written a book with three rounds of printing and book is in 15 or so states and numerous countries and God has used this weak, base foolish man to reach literally hundreds of thousands of people if not millions........with the gospel...........love the truth and will go down swinging the sword of truth...........

Gifts vary depending on how God moves a person to both will and do His good pleasure. It is not like we get one gift and assign it to our name. It could be multiple one day, and the next.... God does not work in us to perform His good pleasure, as His gift to us. (not of our own selves)

Gifts on this side of the cross or reformation have nothing to do with male or female but are in respect to “new creatures” neither male nor female. His bride the church is signified as the mother of us all like that of Paul who labored as in birth pain until Christ the incorruptible seed by which all are born from above was formed in Timothy.( Galatians 4:19) Therefore preparing Timothy as Christ our husband's chaste virgin bride the church (2 Corinthians 11:2)

Today I would say the female has a different kind of gift seeing she represents the whole bride of Christ seen , (male and female or mankind both) .Outwardly she represents the whole Church as a representative glory of God that was revealed in the new ceremonial order. Where men are used to represent Christ our husband, not seen.

Now days many take that literally, not seen or heard. "Gone fishing" (a little bit of truth lol)

The new ceremonial law that governs the new testament order is used as a representation of the unseen glory of God which will be revealed on the last day.This is seeing before the time of reformation woman were not allowed to participate in the ceremonies as shadows of the good things to come , a high wall separated them.(court of the woman) The wall has come down as well as the court of the gentiles and that wall of separation .

The three part new ceremony law. (1) The head of man uncovered to represent Christ not seen uses a woman as the represented glory to her husband (women the glory of man) (2.)God not leaving a woman without her own represented glory… her hair. It must be covered so that together as one representative glory . and (3) the blood of grapes and bread to represent the wedding supper in view of our new incorruptible bodies….. all work together as one ceremonial law.

The head uncovered man and the woman covering her glory has by many made into some kind of fashion statement for the time then. The world loses a beautiful picture of Christ and the church.

Give her a double portion, be there for her. Pray I might be more successful as other husbands. Especially today with the LGBT pride thingy on the rise and the redefining of the word marriage.

I do not know I agree with your statement God uses our strengths my friend. Moses had a speech problem, David was a tiny lad, the 12 disciples were unlearned, just to name a few. God used 300 people with Gideon to slay a multitude. Samson took a jawbone and killed 3,000 Philistines. God takes our weaknesses and uses them through us, showing us what we could never do on our own, He did through us. That may be the case in some people(God using their strengths) but I do not think that is in every case.

I had thought about posting that verse my friend. However, Paul was speaking about a thorn in his flesh that was given him to keep him humble. Earlier he spoke of someone(himself in my opinion) going into the third heaven and heard unspeakable words that no one should utter. The thorn given was to keep him humble, so I don’t believe that verse can be applicable here. That is why I did not post it my friend.

Oh thank you that is true. Hmmm, so true it is in our weaknesses that His strength is perfected. Wow ok, good point. I guess it shows how He turns things for good for those called according to His purpose.

I'm reading my responses from the last to the first. Now I want to do a study on gifts, because it is clear to me, I am not fully aware. His strength in our weakness is a gift so we can not boast, eh? I mean basically those two verses can apply, and can be accurately stated, looking at the entirety of His message, right, concerning salvation and gifts, right?

I do agree with what you said about the woman representing the relationship between the church and Yahweh. Hmmmm, thanks for your time given because you gave me some good places to dig in on the many different gifts and how they we can see them used today, and how He gives them and helps mold them.

I wonder do you have a particular topic you most like to teach, besides salvation of course. What OT story or character do you most enjoy delving into. Is it Abraham or Daniel?

Not at all....no biggie that you asked....

a. Every time I open the bible I learn something new or increase my understanding....and the truth is we must be willing to adjust our belief when it comes to the truths that are beyond salvation, immersion and the basics.

b. Yes I do still do words studies every time I study...if I am going to study a particular set of scriptures or text, the very first thing I do after prayer for understanding is to study every word in the text from the original languages.......it really helps open up the ability to understand....

c. BOTH.....The truth is, the more you know the more you know if you understand that point....Sometimes because of the foundation of truth already there something is easy to understand when comparing scripture with scripture.....other times if it is very deep subject it takes time, prayer, study and much pacing.......

d. I really like the end of the age.....for every 1 verse that deal with the 1st coming of Christ there are 8 that deal with his second coming and yet it is one of the least understood and most misunderstood topics in the bible.

e. I like both but have a special affinity for Daniel, whose name means, "God is my judge". He makes a stance for the truth and his God even in light of a certain death<--as a old man by the way and not some YOUNG child. He rises to the highest position in the Babylonian Kingdom under Nebuchadnezzar and in my view leads Nebuchadnezzar to the truth based upon the three accounts we have of Nebuchadnezzar's word and how in the end announces the GOD of Daniel as the ONE true GOD of heaven......He predicts the rise and fall of 4 world empires, the division of Alexander the Great's kingdom by his 4 generals, the wars between the Greek Kings of the North and the Kings of the South (Ptolemies and Seleucids) and who ultimately wins and how out of the KING'S of the North and the latter stages of their KINGDOM comes the BEAST A.K.A. Little HORN......very good book.....

Gosh:
I believe we've all lived, struggled, persevered, rinsed, washed and repeated the cycle of life... in some way shape or form.
I suspect that during this cycle of life we've learned from our struggles (weaknesses) and have often been blessed with perseverance (strength/gifts) and learned that our faith in Him has often enabled an amazing campaign of learning. Enabling those who choose to to learn more and more about our true selves, our souls - via a means of earnest self reflection. Assuming we have been blessed with the means - ultimately we have to choose to immerse ourselves thru self reflection for the purpose of striving to improve ourselves in His eyes.
I've been blessed with a life full of love and exceptional life-learning experiences and numerous significant events that have brought me to my knees in prayer seeking his hand for understanding, compassion, learning and strength...
I suspect that the 'Nature vs Nurture' debate is relevant in that I believe that both contribute to who we are born to be and who be choose to become; which can be impacted via our exposure to varying types of nurturing atmospheres.
In retrospect He has taught and strengthened my will to make better choices, decisions and improve my human interaction and compassion skills every step along the way from:
- the 8 year old boy who lost his young father to heart attack,
- raised in a modest home with 6 kids by a widowed, un-educated, heart filled, God praising, low-income woman
- thru the loss of an older brother from brain tumor,
- thru a determined mindset for higher education
- hard-work ethic to be the best provider for my family possible
- a 'never-quit' family montra
- thru the witness of the impact upon wives and children with the loss or injury of fellow veterans
- to the point where I find myself today - where I've come to experience the perfect storm with unanticipated stresses on the home and work front at near simultaneous times...

It is during all these trials and tribulations that I strive to learn from the message that our lord has presented me with - from which to reflect upon and grow to become the best version of myself humanly possible.

In the current seemingly most impactful circumstances to the life I have built ...
- I find myself reaching for Mother Teresa's attributed version of the prayer "Do It Anyway" as my 'go-to' life-raft...
People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.
