As they were coming down from the mountain, He gave them orders not to relate to anyone what they had seen, until the Son of Man rose from the dead.
Mark 9:9 NASB

Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descendant of David, according to my gospel,
2 Timothy 2:8 NASB

or ' who will descend into the abyss ?' (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead)."
Romans 10:7 NASB

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
Romans 8:11 NASB

Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
1 Corinthians 15:12 NASB

and then more

So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.
John 2:22 NASB

So you see, from these and more I didn't share, that the scriptures are very clear.

Did Jesus rise from the dead? The answer to that is a resounding, unequivocal YES!!!

My question to you is this...

Do you believe Jesus rose from the dead? I believe, using my understanding of scripture, that without faith in His atonement paid for us and without believing in His ressurection, there is no salvation.

Regardless if we believe or not, though, it sure enough happened, Praise His Holy Name.

If He didn't rise your faith is in vain and you're yet in your sins.

1 Corinthians 15:14-23 King James Version (KJV)
14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

How does the dead being risen affect anyone but a Pharisee? While I can understand why they would be told that if Jesus didn't rise then their faith is in vain the same way the Sadducee's faith would be in vain if he did rise since they testified of God that the dead did not rise.

Anytime one professes to have faith in something which proves to holds no truth, then they have transgressed the doctrine of Christ, and whosoever transgresses, and abides not in the doctrine of Christ hath not God. Thus Paul writes in verse 15, Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ:

Likewise, if a Pharisee denies that he did rise, then as Pharisees whose doctrine of the resurrection of the dead would be denying their own faith if they claimed that he did not rise. How can one who claims to have faith in the resurrection of the dead deny that every one is resurrected of anyone except their faith be in vain?

What is the point of Christianity if there is no afterlife?

We were in Jesus death, burial, resurrection, and exaltation (Romans 6:3-5, Eph. 2:6). The same power the raised Jesus from the dead is need for us to overcome sin, the world, the flesh, and the devil.

“11 But if the Spirit (Holy Spirit) of Him (from God) Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you (and He definitely does), He Who raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies (give us power in our mortal bodies that we might live a victorious life) by His Spirit Who dwells in you (we have the same Power in us, through the Spirit, that raised Christ from the dead, and is available to us only on the premise of the Cross and our Faith in that Sacrifice).” Romans 8:11

That is like saying what is the point of a good name if a person can't have great riches. [See Prov 22:1]

However, I wasn't saying that there isn't an afterlife, only that the requirement that one must follow a certain doctrine of man in order to receive it is evident that such doctrine would be suspect.

It makes no sense to me that you don't understand your own question. And what it implies.

I fully understand the point of my question, does the existence of God depend the doctrine of men?

I thought we just had this subject? It may have been "rise on the 3rd day" but, wouldn't that require Him to rise from the dead?

Exhaustive response:

Yes...............but, you DO KNOW that God the Son, the Living Spirit, never died, nor can He.......just the human shell He took upon Himself when He came to earth died...........

whew............worn out........

1) This thread was created before the other one.

2) Yes I've been a member since 2012, and I now only have 69 posts.

3) I've had other screen names in the past. If I'm correct I let RoboOp know when I created this one.

4) I'm asking questions because I'm working through my faith.

No, but certain beliefs mark someone as a Christian or as an unbeliever.

Which is pretty much the whole point of this conversation.

Not the existence of God. That is a given.
