A walking talking thumb... giving its scarf to a drunk ... . Man, that is SO SAD!!! (hahahahaha!!!)

agreed about all of the anxiety stuff you said.

yeah, every avenger movie that he took me to was (MUCH!!!) better than I even knew to expect. I started really getting into them! :D And no, I didn't hear the uproar about the billboard. wow.

and yeah, the seats are actually electric recliners with the buttons... VERY comfy and posh!! lol I'd never been to a theater like that until he took me. and the floors aren't even sticky! :O shocking!! ;) lol (a REALLY nice experience.. and yes, very sweet of him to do that with and for me. I've really enjoyed it a lot.)
If your comment was art i believe it would be in the minimalist style
Line 1... just laughing
Line 2... just said she agrees
Line 3... reiteration on the quality of a movie i've never seen
Line 4... hmm... maybe something there

Those do sound nice. Though i'm not sure if i'd feel awkward or comfortable in that setting, with such chairs.

That's all i got. =P

I guess you can tell when I'm getting tired, huh? LOL Believe it or not but, as wordy as I can be, I can also be very quiet and shy at times. :) Minimalist. Yeah :D I'm working towards that. LOL

and I can see how it could feel awkward, if there were lots of people, but since we basically had the theater almost completely to ourselves it was just comfy. (well.. and I don't lay it back all the way. I guess I'm just a sort of uptight person but I keep my chair where I'm still sitting up almost straight but with the foot part up as far as it will go to allow me to stay that way. LOL)

I get that. I'm either a chatterbox or just grunt at people haha. Not much in between.
I'm shy as well, but it does seem to have lessened over the years. But definitely still there.

I'm a bit uptight as well, but also I don't like crowded spaces. I'm an overly self aware overthinker that's shy and introverted and a little socially anxious. So movie theaters are not ideal, but I still go. Used to go to the movies alone too.

So i saw that you said you take ibuprofen daily. Is this under a doctor's supervision? Taking it that frequently and consistently is Very damaging to your kidneys, trust me.
I used to take them daily as well, before I got my blood pressure under control, and the combination of the hypertension and the ibuprofen ruined my kidneys (with the hypertension being the primary culprit).
So it may be something to consult about with a doctor.

I appreciate that you shared that. I do take them under careful supervision. They make such a huge difference in my quality of life that they earn their keep. ;) I am monitored closely though (my labwork/bloodwork).

This theater that my son takes me to is SO BIG-- largest one I've ever seen much less been in, ever... but I guess we go at very off-peak times (maybe partly bc he knows that I wouldn't want to go if it were going to be a large crowd. I don't like that either. Not large crowds of people nor crowded spaces.

Ok. Good. Anytime I hear someone taking those often I wonder, since they damaged me so badly.

Large how? I've been to 24 room theaters, but don't think they've ever been as fancy as the one you describe.
Though last year I went to one that had a small bar. Yeah. A bar. Just inside the entrance to the theater with seating like a coffee bar. Kind of weird.

For me the worst place for crowds are churches. Nothing makes me more anxious than going to a new church. Even going to one I'm familiar with can make me a bit anxious. Bleh.

I'm a minimalist too, shy and introverted. I believe in traveling light on my life's journey and haven't accumulated stuff that bogs me down. If I were single I would have only the bare essentials to allow me to survive. The thing is, now that I'm getting older I decided to want to thrive rather than just survive. I am seriously considering trading my Mr. Coffee maker for a Keurig. Currently trending towards pods. Might get a new coffee mug too but perhaps that might be considered extravagant.

I can totally get that about crowds-- even at church. I can handle them best if I get there early say my hellos to the people already there and then make my way to my seat. Or, if I get there and there are already a lot of people there I do tend to be a back row bug. I know that is generally frowned upon --- or at least teased about (sitting on the back row)... but I don't feel as uncomfortable that way so I figure it isn't a bad thing. Plus now that I have some physical issues myself it makes it a lot more do-able all the way around. (Wow. I guess I strung that topic out til it squealed, huh? LOL)

WOW, a theater with a bar?! Again, WOW. Never heard of, and certainly haven't come across that one before. :geek: Now, if it were a COFFEE bar?? :p I am ALL IN!!!! Wooot wooot!! LOL Not sure what size overall this theater is but it is really nice-- and even the smallest individual theaters inside of it would hold (guessing but..) between 100-200 people? ok.. not a very close amount but.. I'm not a guesser for a living so.. it's the best you get for free ;) LOL

Sorry to hear that ibuprofen caused such problems for you. I've never had any issues bc of it, very thankfully.. but my older son did a couple or so years ago and he can't take them now at all.

Just as a disclaimer, I said I'm working towards being a minimalist ;) -- if you saw my house and back shed right now you would laugh in my face that I even said it THAT boldly! LOL  I really am doing HUGE STRIDES ahead of where I used to be with it, but I still have a long way to go. It isn't that I'm trying to be materialistic though.. and I"m not QUITE the hoarder that my sons say I am lol... I have let a LOT of stuff go. I just still have a lot to work through, but I will. :)

I had a young lady stay with me for awhile. She had a Keurig and offered to share use of it with me so I got to experiment with it-- and try different ones of the little pods. I actually ended up being more happy with the refillable ones (bc I do care about our environment and do believe in being a good steward of it -- not "mother earth" talk stuff though.) I decided that I REALLY wanted one (bc then I wouldn't make more coffee than I needed at a time so less waste!! :D , justified she... LOL)... but.. I always read articles and reviews before I buy things and besides the wastefulness of the single use plastic pods, the other big complaint about them is that the water chamber where it heats is sealed.. and you can't get into it to clean it or disinfect it.... and it will get swampy and gunky in the grossest way. Ickkkk. SOOOOOO I decided that I would still with my regular coffeemaker and I lived happily ever since. ;) LOLOL

The coffee mug, though? I say GO FOR IT!! :D Even better.. get you one of the Arctic insulated stainless steel cups bc they are AWESOME!! I have one (a larger one) that I keep iced water in. The ice lasts almost 24 hours in it.. and that WITH my refilling it as I drink the water out, several times. Then I have a little bit smaller one that holds about 1 1/2 mugs worth of coffee. It will stay scalding hot for an hourish.. maybe two.. but then enjoyably hot for hours after. If you like to gulp it down I can see how that wouldn't be appealing but I'm a sipper and also can get distracted with things and forget to work on drinking it... so it works out REALLY nice for me bc it stays hot long enough for me to get to enjoy it nice and hot even after fooling around and still working on it or forgetting it hours later. :)

I'm a sipper too and believe I will score one of the Artic insulated steel cups.

My wife Darlene joined a Decluttering club on Face Book and is in the process of getting rid of a lot of un-needed stuff. She has had a yard sale the past 3 weeks and got rid of a lot of clutter. Now, she is not a minimalist by any stretch of the imagination but is starting to prepare for putting our town home up for sale in the next year or so. She wants to move from Clearwater, Florida to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. She lived there for a few years (not Gatlinburg) when she was young and I lived in Clarksville, Tennessee for 3 years in the early 80's when I was in the Army stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY. Very scenic state. Sick of Florida, altogether I have lived in the Orlando area for 20+ years and almost 4 1/2 in Clearwater. Besides going to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios a zillion times all I have done is work and I can do that anywhere. Hopefully, I will be retiring in a few years if not sooner and I am tired of living in a state that is so congested.

As a teen I'd often sit in the back, or as far back as I could, and doze off during the sermon (not on purpose). Then I'd do that weird random jump that would wake me up and not move hoping people wouldn't notice. Haha.

I haven't been to church in years, though. And last time I went to a new church I was so anxious my legs were shaking haha.

Coffee? Oh, you mean devils urine? One of the most vile substances on the planet? Yes, I'm familiar with it. But not a fan. Not at all.
And coffee bars. The place for trendy people with too much time and money go to pay excessive amounts to ingest satan's bile. /shiver =P

Those sound like average size theaters. I'm guessing. Hmm.
We had a dollar theater didn the street for nearly 10 years but it got bought out and replaced with an AMC. Probably $10 to get inside that rinky dink place now. Bleh.

So I was up for about 21 hours. Just woke up from a six hour sleep. Hence my disappearance. I wasn't planning on doing that. It happens randomly every so often. Then again I have horrible sleep patterns.

Good morning!! ;) I understand. I have really crazy sleep patterns too, but for me I've found that it's easier to just follow my body's leading and do what it needs-- otherwise I might not be able to sleep at all which is sometimes the case.

LOL @ your appraisal of coffee! LOLOL I like it, but sweet. If I had to drink it black I would give it up. Yuck. LOL and yeah, true about actual coffee bars. They do tend to be (ridiculously) expensive.. and trendy. On the rare occasion I have gone out to one as a social thing (ladies from church or something), but typically once I've tried something "out", if I really like it I will go home and figure out how to make it for myself and then save most of the expense.

Dollar theaters were cool. For all of the movie talk I've done recently, I'm not really a go out to the theater person--- not often, nor even regularly, anyway. I wouldn't go at all probably except that it's a big deal to my son to go (just one of the things he likes to do) so when he's home from college it's one of the special things that we do once in awhile. (I'd definitely rather go to the movies and eat popcorn in a recliner vs having to play video games to be able to dabble and show interest in his interests and world. ;) Black Ops and stuff like that is just NOT me!! lol ... now... Super Mario Brothers, on the other hand....... LOL Actually, when they were younger I would get them the old arcade game collections to play on whatever game system they had at the time.. then I would play Galaga and Pong and stuff like that with them. I was a beast at Galaga (ha!).. and Frogger.. LOL. Ahhh.. the good old days! hahahaha

And I definitely know that random jump!! I even do that when I'm asleep in bed sometimes-- not just dozing in odd places. I'll be dreaming and think that I'm falling or something and will jump or jerk-- often waking myself up.

I haven't been to church in a long time either. A conglomerate of reasons mostly stemming from health issues but to be honest I'm really tired and don't feel like trying to explain. Maybe in another conversation. Nothing against the church or going to church. It's just been complicated. Hoping to get started back soon though. The church that I go to was in a very old building that was not handicap accessible, at all. Since I stopped going and was vocal about reasons why they ended up doing a building project to update and make everything accessible. It was a good thing, and about time that they did it because even though I am not old but couldn't attend bc of it not being accessible, many people in the congregation are old and, even the ones who didn't just quietly stop coming, are getting more and more to the point where they were having difficulties too. Anyway, it was a very worthwhile project and I'm glad that they did it. But now that it's done and finished I do need to get myself over the rest of the hurdles and get there.

Now, speaking of odd sleep patterns, I slept awhile.. then got up about 3am.. stayed up for about an hour... and now am going to go back to sleep for a bit. I hope you're having a good night.

The problem is my body has crazy patterns as well. Often times I seem to find myself in patterns that have me sleeping till between 7-11 PM. I hate that. And I'm naturally a night owl. Have been since I was a kid.

I do not see how people can stand any form of coffee. If I have anything with even the slightest hint of coffee flavoring it will ruin the whole thing. Ugh.
I worked in a bookstore with a coffee shop inside it. That coffee shop attracted a bad crowd. Entitled and possessive.
We had a group that came in every night and seemed to think they owned the place. They stayed until close and every night we had to practically push them out.
We had one lady come in regularly grab a stack, yes a stack, of books and magazines and spend the whole day reading and buy nothing but a coffee. And to boot she was scamming to get free coffee. When busted she played offended but she knew. After that they began writing on her cup that she had her one free refill. She made a huge scene about it. Idiot.

I enjoy going to the movies, actually. I'm a homebody so for me going to the movies is "going out to do something", though I've only been once in years. And that was over a year ago.

I'm not a big gamer myself. Primarily because I stink at them. =P
I tend to have one or two games I play a lot, and for a while. Until I burn out usually.

I'm surprised your church went this long like that. Usually laws require places to have such access. At least they finally got smart.

I was up 21 hours, slept 6. Woke up around 3am. Fell asleep... I don't know when. 12ish and slept till 7pm... then spent 45 mins trying to wake up and dozing off over and over haha.
Seems like every month or two, lately, I do this. Very irritating.

I can see why you didn't like the coffee crowd that came to your workplace. Ugh. I know of people who use Starbucks like a free office space in much the same way.. buy one coffee and get refills but sit there all day for business appointments or to do work online... or just to use the free wifi for whatever. WOW about that lady with all the nerve though who would take the materials from the actual bookstore into the coffee part to read without buying them. :O

I'm not much of a gamer myself either. I'm not sure frogger and the like still count as video games anymore anyway lol.

I am glad that my church finally made the updates. Yeah, I'm not sure how they got away with going so long without doing it either.

I don't know if your random sleep patterns are related to any kind of medical issue but I do hope that, whatever is swinging your sleep around, I do hope that you'll be able to even out and start resting better and in a more balanced way. (me as well!)

I loved Christian Music in the 80's! I listened to Daniel Amos,Degarmo & Key,77's,Vector,Resurrection Band,Undercover, and many others. I saw Petra in concert at my college in 84' and they were great!

Like i said, my sleep patterns have been whackadoo since i was a kid. Being a night owl. And now, since i have no where to be or any sort of schedule my mind and body seem to have free reign over my sleep haha.

Yes, we had such people do the same thing. I've even seen people do this at McDonalds, for the ones that have wifi. But they get away with it, as well. If the business lets them then it's on them when other customers are edged out.
