I think we should.

These were given to a pagan nation to guide them to obeying God's laws. God's laws are like a roadmap leading to abundance in all ways.

Now, we have the Holy Spirit to guide us. Almost everyone can read and all can know of the path God lays out for us, we really don't need the rituals to lead us. But most of us are somewhat lacking in discipline to remember to always do, or even the knowledge of that path. God gave instructions very clearly when God gave the rituals, we need to know and understand them.

As an example, we know that Christ shed blood to pay for our sins. When they were told to shed innocent animal blood they were given valuable information we need about the sins this blood (now Christ's blood) paid for.

Studying all the examples that God gave Israel is important. For it all points to Christ our king.
It wasn't some random thing, a random event, but the birth, ministry, life, and death of our Lord is and was God's master piece.
The UN deniable thruth of God in control, God's love towards us, and his power to deliver.
The new testament is very Jewish, and is the old testament revealed.
God did not waste his time with Israel but established a impossible outcome that only he could execute.

yes

and we need to 'study' them in the right sense of the word 'study' -- knowing this, that the scriptures all testify of Jesus the Christ, we need to 'study' them looking for the 'Christology' of what's written. by this word i mean, what and how it is in these that Christ is testified of, glorified, described, pointed to, etc. we should study them in the sense of looking for Christ in them, how they speak of Him and His work.

it's my belief that if we aren't seeing how they testify of Christ, we're never understanding them. seeing Christ in the scripture is an essential part of understanding the scripture; if we can't preach the gospel from any passage in the Bible, there's no way we fully understand that passage - even tho we may find good, and true things there, we haven't really hit the mark, and our comprehension is woefully incomplete, until we see how it speaks of Him.

And beginning at Moses and all the prophets,
He expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself.
(Luke 24:27)

Are you suggesting that we do not accept Christ's giving himself to pay for our sins as the sacrificial system tells us about? Or that we should keep our minds from dirt as the dietary laws teach? Or we should keep ourselves as belonging to the Lord as circumcision teach?

Or are you saying we do not need the physical reminders to do these things?

Or do you mean that you believe we can make our own way without God's input?

We need the rituals to lead us to what?
Rituals as cerimonial laws lead to the cross as shadows of the true not seen, but they do not perfect or cause growth as something we could judge one another in that includes all the ceremonies Sabbaths, as a ceremonial law.

Ceremonial law bridge the waiting period as reminders to encourage us to what is coming ahead. You could say as a living hope.

Like the ceremonial circumcision a reminder of our bloody husband Christ suffering before hand . as revealed in Exodus. Moses was almost killed for not honoring that reminder that was to encourage the believer ...He is coming be patient walk by faith .Moses was saved by his gentile wife (Zipporah) whom God moved as a prophet as shown in the parable below .

And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the Lord met him, and sought to kill him. Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me.So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision.Exodus 4:24-26

Christ fulfilled that ceremonial law when he said it is finished, the promised glory came.

Ceremonial laws as shadows (the temporal) preached the gospel as to the eternal unseen, as understanding beforehand of the suffering of Christ and the glory that followed the veil rent opened up the graves of the old testament saints that has the spirt of Christ in them opening the gates of the first resurrection .The time of reformation.

They like us receive the end of the faith of God that worked in them to both will and do his good pleasure from the beginning we look back, they looked ahead .

1 Peter offers us the sweet fragrance created by the use of ceremonial laws it rises up to our father as a living sacrifice.

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.1 Peter 1:11

Study to show yourself approved of God...rightly dividing the word of God...

Paul told Timothy to do this so he knows what correct doctrine is..but he also disapproved of people trying to circumcise gentiles (judaisers) and people wresting scripture to destruction. The holy spirit does teach us and shows us that is why the Word is given...

The laws were schoolmasters to bring people to Christ. We can study them and they are for our benefit, as it shows how God worked with his chosen people to bring about the Messiah. GOd wanted his people to be a holy people, set apart, which is why theres all the ceremonies and feasts, and sacrifices that are prescribed for them. Because we are free in Christ, we can partake in that but there is no obligation, as Jesus gave us only two commandments to fulfil everything the other 613 commandments pointed towards.

I find the Old Testament fascinating.

The Passover lamb in exodus. Jesus is now our Passover lamb, the wrath of
God passes over us, we are covered by the blood of the lamb.

The tabernacle and temple how they were constructed, show an earthly depiction
of the throne room of God.

The blue material used, represents the Holy Spirit.

The incense used - represents pray.

The lathe for washing - the crystal sea.

So much to understand and learn from the Old Testament about God, the heavenly
realms, what Jesus did for us. Our freedom in Christ.

Im fascinated by the shofar (rams horn some silver and gold too) the power they
gave in battle. Have you noticed how the priests went into battle first. Something to
learn there about the importance of worship!

I had a really strange experience once when playing my saxophone in church
and from that I’m sure the shofar was used to help the Isrealites enter into
the presence of God.

Understanding the symbolism and rituals the reason for them, gives greater
understanding about the Holyiness of God, the seriousness of sin, the great gift of
salvation.

I most positively was not saying God wants us to keep the physical laws, but I AM saying God wants us to keep the spiritual ones God wanted the physical obedience to lead to.

Frankly, I personally do not. It is because I was raised by a woman who had the foulest of mouths, and I learned my English from her. I find that when I am frustrated that terrible English comes bubbling up and seems to have a will of its own. So I promised God that I would clean up my food intake as a symbol of cleaning up my dirty mouth. Even with all this effort my mouth sometimes sends me to my knees.

You know perfectly well you are telling fibs about my postings, and I wonder why?

Are you so dead set against scripture if it isn't the commentary on the OT that the NT is that you attack anything God tells you not labeled "new" by men?
