After Christmas people are thinking about bills and debt. I feel some out there are struggling financially, so I bring up tithing. You can prove God as it says in Malichi 3. Tithe for a year and check out your finances... GRACE & PEACE
Or you can understand that Malachi 3 is written to priests under the old covenant and not to Christians. After Christmas people are thinking about bills and debt. My wife is an avid believer in tithing and as her husband I go along with it. Besides, it always goes to a good cause and there is nothing wrong with that. After Christmas people are thinking about bills and debt. Thanks Waggles. We are under no legal compulsion of tithing in the NT as Christians no longer under the Law of Moses.
Giving to the financial needs of your Church is entirely a matter of attitude and capacity to give.
If you have abundance and money to give then feel free to put your money in the bag.
If you become unemployed or suffer loss then you are not obligated to further impoverish yourself by giving money
to the church when you cannot afford it.
And do not buy into the doctrinal lies that if you give to the church or a ministry then God WILL bless you and miraculously
give you a tenfold increase in your wealth because of your noble sacrifice.
Read the scriptures they teach us of righteousness living and conduct as Christians …
Matthew 19:21
Jesus said unto him, If thou will be perfect, go and sell that thou have, and give to the poor, and thou shall have treasure in heaven:
and come and follow me.
[PS: Joel Osteen and Kenneth Copeland and their ilk are not poor.]
Those that I know who give cheerfully of their income rave about the blessings they get and that goes for me also. To me it's a spiritual thing (not re salvation) just a law of cause and effect. I don't do 10% always now but would like it to b a goal. Of course I give to my Pastor online from whom I get very anointed Biblical teaching from and to various others I feel led to. If someone comes up and asks me for money I usually give them something, unless they are smoking. I don't judge anyone who does not btw. After Christmas people are thinking about bills and debt. You are suggesting that those who tithe will never struggle financially. But the context of Malachi is clearly within the Old Covenant, whereas the principle of Christian liberality is spelled out in the New Covenant. After Christmas people are thinking about bills and debt. I understand the point so I'll clarify. I was attempting to convey that when the topic of giving/tithing is brought up, some of us simply want to share our experience with it. For example, I give clothes to a couple food banks around me (not boasting here, k..lol) that sell clothes to pay for the food they give to those in need. A few months ago I passed a yard sale with a mountain of clothes and accessories. I stopped and asked what's up and the man said everything left was free. My car was so full I had to force the doors closed. Another yard sale a guy had two 5 ft teddy bears so I wasn't going to ask how much but did and he said 50 cents ea. One was perfect for one place as well as the other. I also picked up a huge clean garbage bag in front of a home and it had 52 stylish tops all sizes. Also some financial miracles. So I hope it sounds like I'm sharing my thoughts on a topic brought up and not bragging.this makes me suspicious, because --
But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret, then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.(Matthew 6:3-4)perhaps i am fearful, or perhaps only cynical

I get it, thx for bringing this to my attention. Also on the prayer time, I do pray regularly and on occasion w/someone else as it says in Mt 18:19 '...I tell you if two or more agree about anything you pray for it shall b done for you...'. We also have prayer time in Bible study as well as passing prayer requests to ea other. God bless.you understand, tho, as for myself, i won't ever dare even mention anything like this. because of what i read in Matthew 6. and i hesitate ever to mention what i pray for, or even to pray before anyone, for reason of the same teaching.

To give for boasting is not the Will of God, but for share in this forum where we never meet and every body use Nick name is not boasting. It is depend oN what is in your heart.
One my share in purpose to learn more or to know other interpretation. Or to help other how to solve financial problem simple by giving. If you give check to your church It is not in secret because they know you. But If you send to the mission organisation where No body know you, to me It is coxider in secret.
if i slide cash under a door, they may not know
i've been trying to figure out, most of my life, what it means 'do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing' - and why does He tell me to give this way?
maybe i shouldn't know, either. maybe i shouldn't even think of myself as having given. i think, this is an hard ideal to reach, if i am doing the math to calculate a tithe. while i'm doing that with my right hand, my left hand is surely aware!
