And why have you not explained to me, that as Romans 3:20 could be written as:

Therefore no one will be declared righteous/justified in God's sight by not committing sin, rather through the law we become conscious of sin
Why, bearing that verse in mind is Paul warning born again believers if they sin in certain ways they will not inherit the kingdom of God? Bear in mind, you only sin in the flesh
Yet again, you are showing your ignorance of the Two Natures. We are saved based upon our New Nature in Christ (His righteousness credited to us) the one that will not sin, nor can sin - while remaining in the flesh with the Old Nature that causes us to sin.

Our salvation is never in question because we are perfect, holy, righteous, and sinless via the New Nature. That's what God sees when He looks upon us. As long as Jesus lives and remains perfect - so will we.

DC-
Some of the guys in here are as false as can be.........like Satan in the garden, they twist the word, change what they say, accuse us of saying things we do not say and flat twist the truth.....................I stand amazed at the people that peddle a self saving dogma or that push a losable salvation and then without batting an eye will lie, twist, embellish, change, deny, not only the word of God, but the things we say as well........

The same guy that lied about me by saying that I did not even know that faith was a gift now is saying that i say that prodigal sons that never come back blah blah blah.......

He will have to direct quote me saying that or still be found false.........
You mean where did you talk about and agree to (some) prodigals who never come back? I never said all inclusively that prodigals don't come back. You want the thread and post numbers? Here you go...

Eternally grateful- post 657- https://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/god-lied.137234/page-33#post-3839776
So your saying you believe the prodigal was a son, stopped being a son (lost salvation) then was restored?
Just asking for confirmation, again, if the son died in a prodigal state, would he have been his fathers son, or cast out to eternal darkness?
Your response...

DC-https://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/god-lied.137234/page-40

post 664- That is exactly what some of these people believe and peddle.............I would love to see an actual example of that.............a son by birth will always be a son by birth......it is idiotic to think that my son which was born my son can ever NOT be my son........idiotic.....

Were the good works you do PREPARED FOR YOU BY GOD LONG AGO? Yes or no?

...and do the branches bear the root or does the root bear the branches.

Jesus is the root and the Spirit is the life that is imparted to the branches. Without the root and the life, there are no works that can be biblically defined as GOOD.

Paul said "I labor more than all of them, yet not I but the Grace of God that is in me."

Paul said "what do you have that you did not receive"
I have said over and over that Christians are supposed to being doing good works. the good works that God prepared for us.

yet, just like all you legalists , that is not good enough.

no one owes you any answers except yes, Christians are supposed to being about doing good works.

If you call yourself a Christian and can enjoy living a sinful lifestyle you are not saved.....you are not a Christian!!!

I can call myself anything I want but it doesn't make it so

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:19‭-‬21 KJV

I'm convinced the reason so many people believe this OSAS doctrine is because they love there sin and don't want to change

You see, you cannot properly answer can you. You have a very shallow understanding of the selective letter. And that is the likely reason you think you know much
You can only sin in your flesh, and Paul warned born again believers if they sinned in certain ways they would not inherit the kingdom of God, and this after he wrote you are not justified by/righteous by not committing sin.
You have no answer to that do you, so you are making statements to try and evade from your ignorance of understanding. You only sin in one nature, your flesh

What sins do you commit daily that you excuse?

Wow.

I answered your question succinctly and you still can't grasp it.

Tell me, if all people who tell lies will have their part in the lake of fire, what sins do you commit are not so bad so as you will still inherit the Kingdom?

So if God prepared them for us long ago, are they not part of the endowment He gave us when He saved us, the endowment He prepared for us before we were born? Or do you think of them not as an endowment, gift, but as a duty, necessity, chore, burden, whatever. That would be a legalist.

It's really sad that you all like to call names. DC calls me a deceiver, and I posted instances of him being a deceiver above. You call me a legalist. How is it being a legalist to say that eveything we have from God is a blessing, free, undeserved, and of grace.

Once again, Paul wrote to born again believers if they sinned(in their flesh obviously) in certain ways they would not inherit the kingdom of God. So why are you speaking of two natures? According to Paul sinning in your flesh can send you to hell. Why don't you try accepting everything Paul wrote, not just some of it. But at the same time Paul stated that in Gal5:19-21 he also stated you are not righteous/justified in God's sight by not committing sin(obviously in the flesh) You see, you have to read the bible as a whole, and seek understanding of it. Just grabbing a few selective verses as you do leads to immaturity, which is why you cannot properly address the point I made

"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief." (1 Timothy 1:15)

Paul called himself the "chief" of sinners. Not that he "was" the chief, he said "I am" (present tense) chief of sinners.

Is Paul in heaven?

Good morning world!

Here are some random thoughts: I believe the devil works through DOUBT. "is this really from God?" "am i really saved?" -> One step from this is "Oh well i already lost my salvation and blasphemed the Holy Spirit i cant get it back, i will just give up"
^Thats what the devil wants

If thats you, be encouraged that Jesus wont forsake you and as long as there is breath in your lungs, there is hope.

Cast off all doubt!

OK, so when you sin it is because you choose to do so. That's fine.
Personally speaking, in over five decades of going to various denominational churches I have met not one person who has even tried to obey each and every literal command of Christ in the Gospels. However, the internet is on occasion a wee bit different.
Thank you for conceding that sin is a choice..... Consider that when why so-called Christians doesn't want to follow the Lord's commandments it's because they choose not to

Personally speaking I have met thousands of Christians in my walk with the Lord that are fighting the good fight of faith and when they do sin they repent and ask forgiveness like David did who prayed God take not your Holy Spirit from me. They get back up and fight on hopefully say one day with the Apostle Paul I have fought a good fight and I have kept the faith. I still believe you got to keep the faith

As you are clearly unable to discuss any meat in scripture I will leave it there.

Yet again, you get backed into a corner and you bow out.

I'll ask once again for all to see: "If all people who tell lies will have their part in the lake of fire, what sins do you commit are not so bad so as you will still inherit the Kingdom?"

Have I ever denied sin is a choice?
However, you have to discern the difference between sin you carry into your Christian life that you hate and want to be rid of, and sin you wilfully commit once free of being a slave to it. Two different things.
In my walk I have found those who least reflect what Christ termed the higher points of the law, are those who like to stress such as: You must obey the ten commandments, things like that.

Everything is an undeserved gift, even the rewards and wages earned that dC brought uo. Because God owes us Nothing.

And if He owes us Nothing, and gives anyways, that is a gift.

If you do not believe this, you think works are meritorious.
Let me try to play the diplomat peacemaker here:

Works are not meritorious ...... FOR salvation! God isnt going to look at someone who feeds the poor and say "OH WOW, what a great guy, im gonna save him!"

But: Does God appreciate someone thats obedient? Doesnt God commend the obedient? Surely this can be seen all over the Bible from start to finish.

Does God consider it a good thing and a blessed thing and commendable to feed the poor? To visit the sick? YES!

IN MY OPINION!

I believe the confusion is coming from a MISUNDERSTANDING here: Nobody (i hope) is saying that we are SAVED by works. Or that they MERIT salvation.

Also a friendly piece of advice from a poor traveler: You have been going back and looking up some past quotes from other members and calling them out as liars and so on. I suggest if this matter isnt already resolved that you AGREE to DISAGREE instead of going on and on about it.
Its much better!

What sins do you commit that aren't willful?

How many sins are attributed to you that the blood of Jesus didn't wash away?

Do tell!
