I wasn't quite sure which thread to post what I'm going to say here because I was reading a post by mailman on the not by works thread. Might post there too...waiting on it.
He mentioned Matt: 28 so I went to the scripture. And I saw that Jesus charged the disciples to baptize nations in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And I realized there's something the Lord wants to show me.
The Word name means character. For the language of the Eastern people is descriptive. And is why the allegorical interpretations of the scriptures is accepted by the Jews.
So I questioned what does this mean to teach, baptize or make fully wet; whelmed in the character of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?
Most on the surface type readers will just take it for granted that it means to repeat "in the name of" and then debate which scripture to accept...just Jesus, Lord Jesus Christ, or all three titles. But, is this the true thought Jesus is expressing here?
So now when I have a question and think I might be seeing something different, I go to the Hebrew.
Am not tying this into works here. That's another thread. Just explanation as to what this may mean.
Matt: 28
16 So the eleven talmidim went to the hill in the Galil where Yeshua had told them to go.
17 When they saw him, they prostrated themselves before him; but some hesitated.
18 Yeshua came and talked with them. He said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Therefore, go and make people from all nations into talmidim, immersing them into the reality of the Father, the Son and the Ruach HaKodesh,
20 and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember! I will be with you always, yes, even until the end of the age.”
Immersing them into the reality of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I can see teaching about the plan of Father, and the act of Son carrying it out into our reality as we are taught. Becoming life to us. But, are we leaving out ressurection life after being buried in water and brought up?
Is ressurection life being a reality of Holy Spirit becoming life to us all? Do we know that we know what it means to be Spiritual? Is it just head knowledge? Or has it become your reality and we are truly acting out the prayer, thy Kingdom come! Thy will be done! On earth as it is in heaven!
Without Him....we can do nothing! That's the reality of Holy Spirit working through us! Anointed.
So how do you know you are anointed? Oil poured on you?
