Yup, all good.
I haven't really had a problem with you since.
"What behavior would cause us to conclude that someone is drunk?"

Acts 2:13, 15
13 Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.” ...
15 These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning!
People that are drunk ramble on in unintelligble words all the time because they slur their words, cannot talk straight etc...my view is what the text states and PETER explains it just fine....they are not drunk and this is what was spoken of by Joel the prophet

Well, that's ironic. Isn't that what Pentecostals and Charismatics are accused of doing? Gibberish is "unintelligible words". Right?

Nice try......no dice....the men is Acts spoke in their own language and was heard in the native born tongues of the some 18 different dialects that were present...I do not believe nor buy into the modern day charismatic version of jibberish passed off as tongues.....

Benny Hinn would be the first person to say he has no power to heal. He gives the glory to Jesus. All the time!

I was watching a video of Hinn preaching in another country. The people put a dead man on the stage off to the side of Hinn. He didn't know, but during the preaching, the man rose up alive.

The people began to rejoice! Then he saw.

I've been in his meetings. The air is practically palpable and alive with Holy Spirit.
Then the man was not dead.

Are you agnostic?
If you can't believe a personal testimony, there is no reason for you to believe the Bible.

1 John 1:3
We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

Umm... I don't see how this relates at all to how the scoffers reacted to the believers that were filled with the Holy Spirit.

What you cite is when the Holy Spirit came to the Believers, NOT the result the scoffers saw in the believers. A lot of liberties are being taken in Scripture with this passage.
Amen! (y)

Just once, I'd like to see a team of doctors confirm one of these claims. Let them examine the "dead" man before the so-called "resurrection." But Benny and his ilk will never allow for that. They will never allow to cameras to record those people who are truly crippled being placed in the back - nowhere near the stage - nor record them being wheeled back out, crippled still. Nor will they allow ANY professional confirmation of these healing "miracles".

These people can raise the dead? How about something less dramatic - how about they have a severed arm or leg grow back on camera with doctors standing by to confirm it? Heck, how about just a finger?

But that is NEVER going to happen.

They simply collect the money and shuffle quickly on down to the next town to scam a new bunch of people who can put some cash in the collection plate.

To the claims of Benny and his bunch? You bet!

If you can't believe a personal testimony, there is no reason for you to believe the Bible.
Really? Okay, let's apply that logic and broad brush to other things: There are tons of personal testimonies from those who have seen Ghosts, UFOs, Bigfoot, the Lock Ness Monster, the Abominable Snowman, etc.

So, if you don't believe them, I guess you can't believe the Bible, right?

Good point.
Your topic title uses the term "True Christians". What does that mean?

This was backed up by verifiable miraces and proclaimed by unimpeachable witnesses. Benn Hinn fails to meet those tests and standards.

Those who believe the biblical gospel. Not the feel-good, we're awesome, God doesn't care about theology, everyone gets to heaven their own way crowd.

If Benny Hinn = Paul or Peter we are in a whole lot of trouble.....
Churches? That alone is the trouble. Being one with the Lord Jesus is His will. His prayer that we would know we are. And that's His body alive and moving with Him on the earth.

I believe the day of the one man "show" is closing. His body rising.

Let the Lord judge those who aren't in your circle. Am sure there's enough to pray about with your own fellowship, and your own personal walk.

You don't like Hinn? You don't have to attend.

I wasn't quite sure which thread to post what I'm going to say here because I was reading a post by mailman on the not by works thread. Might post there too...waiting on it.

He mentioned Matt: 28 so I went to the scripture. And I saw that Jesus charged the disciples to baptize nations in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And I realized there's something the Lord wants to show me.

The Word name means character. For the language of the Eastern people is descriptive. And is why the allegorical interpretations of the scriptures is accepted by the Jews.

So I questioned what does this mean to teach, baptize or make fully wet; whelmed in the character of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?

Most on the surface type readers will just take it for granted that it means to repeat "in the name of" and then debate which scripture to accept...just Jesus, Lord Jesus Christ, or all three titles. But, is this the true thought Jesus is expressing here?

So now when I have a question and think I might be seeing something different, I go to the Hebrew.

Am not tying this into works here. That's another thread. Just explanation as to what this may mean.

Matt: 28
16 So the eleven talmidim went to the hill in the Galil where Yeshua had told them to go.

17 When they saw him, they prostrated themselves before him; but some hesitated.

18 Yeshua came and talked with them. He said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

19 Therefore, go and make people from all nations into talmidim, immersing them into the reality of the Father, the Son and the Ruach HaKodesh,

20 and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember! I will be with you always, yes, even until the end of the age.”

Immersing them into the reality of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

I can see teaching about the plan of Father, and the act of Son carrying it out into our reality as we are taught. Becoming life to us. But, are we leaving out ressurection life after being buried in water and brought up?

Is ressurection life being a reality of Holy Spirit becoming life to us all? Do we know that we know what it means to be Spiritual? Is it just head knowledge? Or has it become your reality and we are truly acting out the prayer, thy Kingdom come! Thy will be done! On earth as it is in heaven!

Without Him....we can do nothing! That's the reality of Holy Spirit working through us! Anointed.

So how do you know you are anointed? Oil poured on you?

this actually makes more sense then the baptismal service that has come to serve in its stead

besides, I actually read a very similar article the other day and that made sense also

wish I could find it again because you might like it...but alot of water has passed under that bridge by now

Someone want a cookie?
Might want a drink

they keep arguing over what a drunk person looks like, says and how they talk

honestly, it's bizarre

all with the intent of finding out how someone looks speaking in tongues or something

proves what?
