The Bible backs Israel even more so. Sorry we're not going to find common ground on this one.
That's debatable from a theological perspective - the tribes (and I state tribes rather than the modern day "Jews" who are of questionable ancestry) only had a right to the land under Torah, and that right was based on obedience to the Torah which is no longer in effect as it passed away according to Hebrews.
The zionists were/are atheists, so even if the old covenant promises were still in effect the atheists would not qualify as they aren't obedient.
Neh 1:9
but if you return to Me and keep My commandments and do them, though those of you
who have been scattered were in the most remote part of the heavens,
I will gather them from there and will bring them to the place where I have chosen to cause My name to dwell.’
The facts are the majority of those that occupied the land were and still are atheists who neither repented and keep the commandments.
There is no biblically mandated conditions for a return to the land in disobedience.
