And he wasn't being controlling... On you or sweet morning dew... He's the last person that would be.

Would you be turned off by a smile or a sly glance? How would you know if she were interested in you without something from her, up front? I was fortunate when I was dating. We had a lot of young folks that roller skated and partied together. I knew most of them from 14 years old on.

I was a good looking young man and I landed a very good union job at a young age. I was fully capable of caring for a wife with my job and benefits. Point being: I was bait for marriage. That is also what I wanted. While I was dating one girl, another would smile or give some body language that she was available and interested. When I broke up with one, there was another already handy. :)(y)
That brings up a really interesting point. You and I grew up in different eras, and the internet is a huge part of my frame of reference whereas it wouldn't have been around yet in your case. So maybe to rephrase my original post, I would say it is a turnoff when a woman messages me and starts sending signals. But I think that might have to do more with my distrust of people on the internet than anything else. Using a more in-person context, I think it would be less of a turnoff for me if a woman expressed interest in the way that you described.

You for some strange reason tried to make a hypocrit out of someone I care about deeply and hope to marry one day when you misunderstood her words... but ya
I was snippy
and I am sorry for that
but I am not sorry for speaking up ...

I am in control of no one
including you...

Though if you don't mind I'd prefer to take this to private messages unless your goal is to bicker in front of everyone.
I don't really have a dog in this fight, but I will just throw out that it is beyond annoying when significant others rush in to defend their boo at any hint of disagreement on forums. Don't be that guy.

I don't recall asking you. She made statements and I asked valid questions. If you can't handle such a minor thing then you're going to be upset an awful lot with people.
But I suppose since you shut her down and spoke for her, rather than trusting her to be able to speak for herself I should refer all comments to you? That way you can be in control of her?

And you called my comment snippy and I should drop it. Look in the mirror boy.
He did post again and say "Sorry if I was the snippy one" so he did beat you to the "mirror" punch. Relax, brother. You made fair points in your initial post, but getting caught up in a spat like this takes away from those which I thought were worth discussing.

I consider Sweetmorning Dew and NoNameMcGee to both be good friends, and wonderful people for anyone who takes the time to get to know them.

NoName and I have gone a couple of rounds, lol... Mostly because I was angry at God about this or that in my life at the time so it was all on me, but he doesn't give up on people that easily. If there's one thing I know about him, it's that he doesn't give up on people, and, even if he disagrees with something that's said, he still prays for that person.

I wish him and Sweetmorning Dew the very best.
Absolute 100% agree on every word you said, Seoul. :)

Seriously.

Do you just go around stating this IN PUBLIC???

I'm pretty sure it would be seen as heresy.

After all... women are pretty scary to talk to.

I try to keep it on the down low. Sometimes I hide out at my place to throw them off.

Rumor has it that when it comes to avoiding women, a man cave is the safest place to be.

It's kind of like a bomb shelter, except that instead of protecting you from a nuclear fallout, it actually protects you from women -- which, everyone knows, are far more dangerous.

My dog keeps betraying me by needing to go outside. Also work, food, socializing. Hmmmm....

Yes.

I'm pretty sure that in the Hierachy of Betrayals of the Man Cave, the top 3 most treacherous culprits would be:

1. Food.
2. Dogs.
3. Women.

Probably in that order.

Further proof... that dogs are evil. :devilish:

A friend of mine once told me I'm loyal as a dog. The only problem is I smell like one too.

For the record, I have nothing against dogs.

It's just that I've found that dogs are exactly like people -- some are wonderful.

And some are just out to bite you in the butt.

Hmm.... his might need more research.

Food can be delivered, but sometimes delivered by a woman *le gasp*.

Women sometimes bring food to be nice. A stealthy way to gain entry to he man cave most likely, so need to be alert.

Dogs consume food and need me to leave my man cave.

Maybe it’s
1. Dogs
2. Food
3. Women

Just as long as the women are always #3 on that list.

After all, we gotta keep 'em in their place.

Women would go to #1 or #2 once they gain entry to the man cave. Consuming food, asking me to clean. Pure evil.
