Regardless of what anybody thinks Christ meant; one thing is for sure:
unless people somehow eat his flesh and drink his blood, they have no life in
them; viz: they are quite dead on the hoof.

John 6:53 . . Jesus said: "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the
flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you."

The kind of life about which he spoke isn't organic life; rather, it's a
supernatural kind of life.

John 6:54 . . .Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life,

According to John 10:28, eternal life is an imperishable kind of life. In other
words; people need to obtain it only once, and they never have to obtain it
again because eternal life cannot die, nor does it spoil or decay. Were that
not true, then God would've died of old age long ago.

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

I understand why you say eternal life is obtained once, but Jesus said to do this often until He comes. We live on a daily basis. So wouldn't eating and drinking of eternal life be daily too?

John 6:53 - "Except you eat the Flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His Blood (i.e., the Cross, i.e., The Finished Work), you have no life in you," (presents the demand that caused "many of His Disciples to go back, and walk no more with Him" (John 6:66). It does the same presently! This Verse tells us the degree of believing that is required; it refers to the Cross being the total Object of one's belief; failing that, there is no Life in you.)

John 6:66 - From that time many of His Disciples went back, and walk no more with Him.

We live on a daily basis. So wouldn't eating and drinking of eternal life be
daily too?

That pretty much depicts manna.

Its value as nourishment was very limited. Although manna sustained Moses'
people from day to day, it didn't give them immortality no matter how much
of the stuff they consumed.

John 6:49-51 . .Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.

When people need a fresh supply of eternal life on a daily basis like Moses'
people needed a fresh supply of manna on a daily basis; then we have to
conclude that the life they are obtaining from their source of Jesus' flesh and
blood isn't eternal life; rather, it's just common nourishment, i.e. actually just
a useless snack. They'd be as well off eating Cracker Jacks and drinking Hawaiian
Punch.

John 6:50-51 . . This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a
man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down
from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever.

Jesus is the Word of God, John 1:1. The Word became flesh, John 1:14. Jesus’ words are life, John 6:63. Jesus’ body is the bread, the bread from heaven, John 6:33.
Matthew 4:4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.“

If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever, John 6:51. This bread is Jesus’ flesh, which he will give for the life of the world, John 6:53.

Unless we eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, we have no life in us. Jesus tells us the truth, if anyone obeys his word, he will never see death, John 8:51.

When we believe in Jesus’ shed blood, we come into the blood covenant with God, Mark 14:24. We believe and this believing is as drinking his blood.

To obey Jesus, to do what the bread from heaven says, this is eating, this is eating the bread from heaven, and it is eating his flesh. Obeying Jesus’ word is equivalent to eating his flesh.

Luke 11:3 Give us each day our daily bread.

Jesus says for us to pray, give us each day our daily bread. That is having Jesus every day, his words, his teachings. We are to eat Jesus every day, which is to obey every day.

John 6:58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever.”

Did you hear what Jesus said? Jesus says he who “feeds on this bread.” That is not a onetime thing. We are to eat every day. We are to obey every day.

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

When we are hungry, hungry for God’s truth, we come to Jesus. Jesus says, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:51

When we come to Jesus and then believe, it is as drinking his blood. When we obey, it is as eating his flesh. After we eat his flesh and drink his blood, Jesus gives us water to drink that means Jesus gives us the Holy Spirit, John 4:10; 14; John 7:38; 39.

1 Corinthians 12:13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body–whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free–and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

John 6:27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.” The seal of approval is the Holy Spirit.

When we celebrate the Lord’s Supper, it is in remembrance to Jesus dying for us.
For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.1 Corinthians 11:26.

Read what Jesus' disciples said to him...

John 4:31 Meanwhile his disciples urged him, "Rabbi, eat something."

32 But he said to them, "I have food to eat that you know nothing about."

33 Then his disciples said to each other, "Could someone have brought him food?"

34 "My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.

Did you read that? Jesus says his food is to DO the will of him who sent me and to FINISH HIS WORK.

We are to do God's will. God's will is that we obey Jesus' teachings.

Now, that proves we eat the flesh of Jesus when we do what Jesus says to do.

That is how we eat the bread from heaven, the bread of life.

We have to eat every day. We have to obey every day.

OP: Unless You Eat My Flesh And Drink My Blood

1st title Example's:

Isa 9:6 Each Catitalized name in this verse is a TITLE, each title represents a different attribute of the Son that shall be given.

Son of man is a title associated Messiah throughout the Old Testament. This phrase shows up 197 times in scripture. 85 times in the NT. In every NT mention Son is capitalized showing deity. Ck the OT for capitalization to determine context.

John 12:34 The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man

Many OT passages state the eating of blood was strictly forbidden: Gen 9:4, Lev 3:17, 7:26-27, 17:10-14, 19:26 Deut 12:16 &23 23-24, 15:23

The idea of literally drinking blood was strictly prohibited in the Old Testament and would have been unthinkable to every Jew.

Parsing John 6:53 - First, who is Jesus speaking to? Jews steeped in Mosaic law!

53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you
(NOTE: Reread the above)

John 6:
54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
(NOTE: Vs 63 Christ's words here are spiritual. The literal application applied later in vs 66 via the Jews that left, is 100% carnal. Eating & drinking are, our appropriation of His death. Our faith leads us to eat & drink & is the means of appropriation. His flesh represents sacrifice & sustenance, His blood atonement & by means of His death. So, every time we partake in the Lord's Supper. We are reaffirming our Faith in Christ's Death, Burial & Resurrection. And this eat & drink partaking, nourishes & sustains, those already born again, until His 2nd coming. MOO!

Bear in mid, Adam may be translated as man. God called man, man. Adam also from the word for earth, dirt, or dust. From dust thou art and to dust thou shalt return. From Adam we derive the Hebrew word for red, dam, and for blood also dam. Bright red is dam dam. Check the history of the word Edom...…..

The son of man……...the same as the son of Adam. Jesus said this to estabish with all that He is of the same condidtion AS ALL flesh. Being like us, He earned what was alreayd His, the authority to judge all for He was tempted with every temptation any man has endured………..

Praise Jesus Christ our Everlasting Father, our Almighty God, our blessed Holy Spirit...the Ruler of Peace. I ould go on but most have read His many titles.

Like all parables the literal as that seen is used to hide the unseen spiritual understanding. Its a abomination to drink literal blood.

Literal blood without the spirit essence of life has no redeeming power. It shows life was given as a living sacrifice. It must be poured out as the base of the altar so that it can return the dust of the field from where it was taken from .

That parable in John 6 as to its spiritual meaning must be compared to other spiritual meanings found in parables in order to reveal the gospel thread woven throughout the word of God. .In the end of the matter we compare the parable in John 6 to the parable given twice a double blessing. ... 2 Samuel 23 and 1 Chronicles 11:18-20.

David had been used to as the strength of God to subdue the enemies of God .Coming off a high experience God sent him a thirst for hearing the gospel using many metaphors in that parable .

There he used water to represent blood which in turn represents the unseen work of the Holy Spirit. David knew it was parable he was given the spiritual understanding of the Lord and would not drink it but according to the law of sacrifice poured it out. . It represented the sacrifice of Christ . Who poured out His Spirit as if it was blood in jeopardy of his own Spirit life. No double jeopardy.

To drink blood of men is to give ones life in jeopardy for another.

And David was then in an hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem. And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate! And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the Lord. And he said, Be it far from me, O Lord, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.
2 Samuel 23 14-17

You could say the water, turned to blood which in turn turned in spirit life.

FAQ: Jesus Christ has been in possession of two versions of his body: a
natural version and a glorified version; i.e. a mortal and an immortal. Which
version pertains to the flesh and blood he spoke of in John 6:53-54?

A: The natural version.

John 6:51 . . I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever
eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for
the life of the world.

FAQ: The flesh of the natural version of his body no longer exists. How then
is anybody supposed to eat it?

A: I wish I had a pat answer for that question but thus far, one has eluded
me.

FAQ: Why is this so difficult to figure out that even the best and brightest
theologians cannot agree on it?

A: Because Jesus' words were spirit. (John 6:63)

I can understand some Spanish, but spirit is totally out of my depth. I can
read the spirit words that Jesus spoke because they're translated into
English, which is a language I understand. But though I easily understand
the English version of Jesus' spirit words, I don't really know what they're
saying because they're coded in spirit.

This problem is very similar to computer code. I can easily read computer
code when it's written with English numbers, letters, and symbols; but I
haven't the foggiest notion what that code is saying though it's written with
numbers, letters, and symbols very familiar to me.

Trying to understand Jesus in that section of the 6th chapter of John without
a spirit language translator is like blind men in a dark room looking for a
black cat that isn't there.

Jesus contrasted this food (bread from heaven, his flesh and blood) with food which perishes.

He told them (and us) to work for the food which endured forever, not for food which perishes

He said whoever ate this food. Will never hunger, never thirst, Never die, Live forever, Has eternal life, And will (not might) be raised on the last day.

Vs the other food. Which people has to keep eating continually, because failure to do so will cause hunger and thirst, and not eating for too long will result in death.

Jesus also said when he meant, It is the SPIRIT who gives life, the WORDS I SPEAK are spirit and they are life.

Peter showed he understood

“Where are we to go. YOU have THE WORDS of ETERNAL LIFE.
