How does God speak now? How do we listen for him and recognize his voice over others? How have you heard the Lord speak to you?
Hi Cherie, there's a recent and very well-done documentary that you might enjoy called, The God Who Speaks. It can be rented or purchased in HD video at Amazon (and it may still be free to Amazon Prime members). How does God speak now? How do we listen for him and recognize his voice over others? It also has an all-star cast of pastors, theologians, apologists, historians and linguists.

Hi Third-temple, I realize that you were addressing Cherie, but you quoted my post to do so, so I am interested, which part of what I wrote and/or which part of the documentary's trailer did you issue your warning to her about?Don't be deceived cherieR ... Jesus was crucified on a tree not a pagan cross...
Cross means stake or pole
Holidays such as Christmas and Easter are pagan

You realize that, in context, the speaker was pressing an important point about the Bible, that it is not a made-up story to make people feel better, like having it talk about "the spirit of Christmas" or "the inspiration of Easter" might do. IOW, the video was using those two things as ~negative~ examples, examples of how the Bible .. WASN'T .. written, about what it is not .. just FYI.The trailer mentioned the pagan holidays and a cross was shown with an idol image of Jesus... Red flags for me ... As neither have anything to do with Jesus

As for Jesus not being crucified on a pagan cross (but on a tree instead), if you don't mind me asking, why do you believe that, especially when you consider everything that the Bible tells us about His Crucifixion being on a cross?
Your statement is self-defeating.Jesus was crucified on a tree not a pagan cross...
Read Hebrews, God has spoken many times through his prophets, but these last times he speaks through his son, Jesus. How does God speak now? How do we listen for him and recognize his voice over others? How have you heard the Lord speak to you?
