Hey Everyone,

A while back, LadyInWaiting posted a great thread asking 10 questions that helped us get to know each other a little better. I thought it would be cool to re-ask some of those questions and go a little more in-depth.

Here we go!

* What is your favorite color, and why? Was there a specific reason you started liking that color?

* Are you someone who would paint your walls, buy a car, and wear an outfit--all in your favorite color? Why or why not?

* What kinds of things do you like to buy or obtain in your favorite color, and why?

* What kinds of feelings and memories do you associate with that color?

My favorite color, even from the time I was a kid, has always been red. I always say I got that from my Dad, because red is his favorite color, and I think it was because of him that I started noticing red things.

I also tend to be very picky about "my" shade of red--it has to be a "pure" red--not too much blue, not too much pink, and definitely not too much orange. Once I find that perfect red shade, I could easily go overboard. I've had office walls that were painted red, drive a red car, and can easily choose a good number of accessories that would all be red (cookware, a vase, pair of shoes, bag, etc.)

Ironically (and unfortunately), I no longer feel that I can wear much red around my face because it exacerbates the slight ruddiness in my skin. The past few years, I've found that cobalt blue seems to work much better as my clothing choice, but I will always have a weakness for red (just like kryptonite!)

I love that red is passionate, full of creative energy, wakes up most anything it's set against, and it will always hold an emotional bond for me because I can remember how happy my Dad was when we got a red station wagon as the family car. I love red because it's an active color that says, "Don't just sit there, get up and do something about it!"

What color do YOU love, and what does your favorite color say to you?

I don't have a favourite colour. My preference for colour is entirely context-dependent. I'm a big fan of blue sky, though the transient oranges and pinks of a sunrise or sunset look good as well. I like wood in shades of brown, and asparagus in shades of green (though I understand it can be "blanched" and turn out white). Peas should be bright green, unless they are yellow peas, or seed peas. Soil should be dark brown. Ferraris should be red, Jaguars should be British Racing Green (yes, that's an actual colour), and Rolls Royces should be a deep maroon. Rainbows should have seven colours... in the correct order (children's drawings are excused). Flowers may be any colour, though blue roses remind me of animals and disease (kudos to anyone who gets that reference).

Food should not be blue (blueberries are actually purple). Sky should not be green (that indicates a possible tornado). Supercars must not be pink (Pink's cars notwithstanding). Trees should not be orange (which would mean they are on fire).

Finally, ketchup should not be purple. Thanks to Heinz for quickly correcting their grievous error.

I thought about this a bit while walking. I think this is the most I have ever thought about my color choices. :p

My favorite color used to be green. Forest green in particular, though I didn't know it was called that back then. I guess I associate it with happiness. The first house I remember being in was base housing when my dad was stationed in California. This was before we moved and my mom left my dad. I don't even remember what that house looked like, but the color is burned in my brain. I think I also associate it with being out in the woods. I don't get out much, but I also loved being outdoors when I was growing up.

At some point, I talked myself into having blue as my favorite color. I was really getting into the blues at that point, and there was this shade of blue on some of the books and album covers that I loved. I think it is cobalt blue, but I'm not very good with shades. I usually have at least one color that shade of blue. Most of my favorite teams have color that color at some point, too. So, I guess blue and green are my go to colors for shirts, towels, etc. I wouldn't paint a room those colors, but I might get curtains or something. Well, probably navy blue for curtains.

Red is a weird one for me. I don't think I would ever register it as a favorite, but certain things have to be red for me. Like Gibson/Epiphone guitars. Cherry sub-burst for Les Pauls, and red for SGs and ES-335s. Thanks to Ferrari, sports cars all seem like they should be red. I wear a lot of green and blue, but I find I get compliments on how I look mainly when I wear red shirts. I keep one in the rotation so I am not wearing the same couple of colors all the time, but red might be more my color than green or blue. :(

I think outside of that, a lot of things seem like they "should" be a certain color. I'm not sure where I get that idea, other than maybe I saw it in a picture, or something. Like Telecasters seem like they "should" be yellow/butterscotch. Strats "should" be black or tobacco sunburst. I think in those cases, people I liked had guitars those colors. Clapton had Blackie and Brownie.

* What is your favorite color, and why? Was there a specific reason you started liking that color?

I actually have two. Originally it was just blue, but I grew to also like yellow. Especially together. I don’t know if it was an indoctrinated thing for me to like blue as a male, but I like it. It’s a cool color, easy on the eyes, easy going.
Yellow came about some time later. I had to do some project for my computer class in the 6th grade which involved making a creation in paint. I put yellow and blue next to each other and thought it looked really good. It’s stuck ever since.

* Are you someone who would paint your walls, buy a car, and wear an outfit--all in your favorite color? Why or why not?

My room used to be a fairly dark color blue. Maybe “Facebook icon” blue lol. I just have plain white walls now, as I’m renting an apartment. I like to wear blue. It goes good with gray or khaki, too. I don’t wear much yellow, but I do have a t shirt or two. I’d like to maybe own a yellow car one day. Maybe a pick up truck or something a little more sporty, but I’m not too particular. If it were a blue car, it’d have to be a darker blue.

* What kinds of things do you like to buy or obtain in your favorite color, and why?

I don’t think I’m very particular in this area.

* What kinds of feelings and memories do you associate with that color?

I don’t know that I have any other memories associated with those colors other than what I’ve mentioned above, but I associate yellow with joy/happiness. It’s like the sun shining. Blue to me is definitely a cool color, calm and collected.

1.) My favorite colors are green and red. I can't pick one.; 2.) I don't know why.; 3.) No, no, and no-although I used to get knitted caps in those colors for my birthday every year from my mother.; 4.) With the exception of the knitted caps, I don't like those colors on anything of mine.; 5.) I used to buy army surplus clothing that was green, but don't wear those any more. For some reason, women in my life like to buy me red shirts, so I have three red shirts. I only buy black shirts, or navy blue. I do have a pair of firefighters pants that are green, but they're too big for me now.

My favourite color is close to Red.. it is Maroon which is a mixture of Red and violet / blue there are many different shades of Maroon.. Some look more brown then red . I like the one that is closer to red..

I don't think there was any incident that caused me to like Maroon.. I just saw the color and liked it.. I used to like red when i was little but when i saw Maroon i switched.. I usually don't wear maroon because it is hard to find cloths with that color.. Likewise it is hard to find other objects in that color.. I have owned a Maroon car :).. But it seems most people think the color is too strong..

Not sure if the color says anything to me.. It is a kind of get up and go color.. Maybe i like it because i need to have a bit more get up and go about myself.. lol

I like colors and I like when they harmonize with each other, but I don't know about a favorite color. Gotta have them all to make pictures.

I do like yellow, as it is a bright, cheerful color. I don't know about getting clothes or cars or house paint in yellow though... Different colors are for different things, and yellow shows dirt awfully well. Yellow would not be my favorite color for a lot of stuff I could buy.

For sartorial splendor I seem to run to either black and dark grey with primary colored ties or browns somewhere around the darker beige part of the spectrum. Lighter and darker blues also work well for me.

* What is your favorite color, and why? Was there a specific reason you started liking that color? For a long time it was red, and I still love red a lot but now days I tend to lean towards more mellow colors.

* Are you someone who would paint your walls, buy a car, and wear an outfit--all in your favorite color? Why or why not? My bedroom walls were red for years, now I have off white walls with a malted mint (light teal) accent wall. I like black clothing or well... I guess I like most any color clothing fairly well.

* What kinds of things do you like to buy or obtain in your favorite color, and why?
blankets.... I love blankets anyway , but in colors that I like makes them even more lovely.

* What kinds of feelings and memories do you associate with that color? the red reminds me of sharing the room with my sister and being obsessed with red and black. Good times.... the new colors reminds me of new more mature and relaxing times alone.

All this being said... I love every color. Every color has it's own specific beauty. There's nothing prettier than blue skies with fluffy white clouds, green grass, yellow sunflowers and so on .... color makes me happy ♡

Not really. I am a music nerd and I don't have a favorite song. I have a LOT of songs I like, but I don't have one standalone, beat-all, best-of-show favorite. I can't pick out the top ten, hundred or even the top thousand songs I like best.

My favorite color is probably black. It just fits me.

* Are you someone who would paint your walls, buy a car, and wear an outfit--all in your favorite color? Why or why not?

Walls? No. That's too dark. I would buy a black car and wear black clothes(not exclusively lol). Black looks good on cars and I think most people don't mind wearing their favorite color.

* What kinds of things do you like to buy or obtain in your favorite color, and why?

I can't think of anything specifically. I do like when my gf buys & wears black lipstick/nail color.

I have learned through many years of working in factories and warehouses that If you paint anything yellow, someone will hit it with a hyster or truck.

Yep. I think many consider yellow warning stripes as a challenge!

My favorite color is pink. But it has to be light pink...like a baby pink. Like this...lol

Light pink is the October birthstone. So since I was a baby, my mom and grandma would dress me in pink and buy me pink rings. When I turned 10 years old I got a heart shaped gold ring. The heart is pink. I still have it and it still fits! Yay, it's really pretty. Also, my high school class ring is pink. I just love pink. It's a pretty girly color and it doesn't seem as harsh as red or orange. Pink reminds me of my childhood, (Barbies!), girly things, lipstick, bows, ballet, jewelry, roses and of course baby girls.:giggle:

Lately, I have been leaning towards navy blue for clothes and accessories. As much as I love pink, I think I look better in navy blue. But light pink and navy look wonderful together. Like a fairy tale couple coming together to compliment each other in the most perfect way! :D:p

Most of my office supplies are in pink. Sharpener, tape, scissors, ruler, mouse, computer case, phone case etc. I actually got pink scissors recently. When my mom saw them she said "aren't you a little old for pink scissors?" I told her "never!" My mom is one of those black everything people.

I pretty much like the deeper shades of the cool colors. Lots of blues and purples and greens. I'd probably paint rooms lighter versions of those colors or else neutral colors. I do have a lot of blue clothes and some green. Don't know exactly why I like it, but I imagine blues and greens and browns make me thing about being outdoors where it feels like I'm a zillion miles away from everyone (which is great as long as everyone isn't really a zillion miles away and I can get someplace where there's nice prepackaged food and not have to kill and dismember my own dinner).

My favorite color is red. Because it's intense like me lol.

* Are you someone who would paint your walls, buy a car, and wear an outfit--all in your favorite color? Why or why not?
One of my favorite shirts is red and I bought it for July 4th five years ago. It has USA printed on it with an Air Force logo but I'm afraid to wear it now because of all the political hatred going on. If i ever own a ferrari I'd want it to be red. Someone down the street has one but it's silver.

* What kinds of things do you like to buy or obtain in your favorite color, and why?
Shirts and model cars. About half of my model car collection is red.

* What kinds of feelings and memories do you associate with that color?
