What experience?

The baptism of the spirit is not an experience it is an event

it is the act of God washing your sins and making you white as snow as he baptizes you into the death and burial of Christ, (rom 6) In christ himself. And finally baptising you into the body of Christ, (adoption) where you become a child of God (or as john the baptist said, He will baptise you with the HS) it is where we are spiritually circumcised with the circumcision done without the hands of man (col 2)

AFTER this, I am annointed by the spirit, where I am sealed unit the day of redemption

Due to this annointing, I am empowered wiht many things, including understanding, and gifts of the spirit (here is where the gift of tongues or any other gift comes from)
Bro the baptism of water onto repentence is different from the baptism of the Spirit
Mark 1:7-8 And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
The disiples were saved but they needed to empowered to fulfill the "Great ommision"
Speaking in Divers Tongue is the evidence of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Yes, I was baptized into the death burial body and even christ himself on the day of my conversion where by Gods mercy I was washed (Baptized) by the spirit (titus 3) as all people who have been adopted into Gods family after the day of pentecost are.

You are given gifts because the HS is poured into you. It is the act of the HS coming into you body and filing your soul.

This is called anointing, not baptism

Baptism represent cleansing or being cleansed in religious terms, things are baptized in water, in blood, which is symbolic of what God does when he baptizes us into the death and burial blood) of christ. Also. Just as the jews were baptized into UNION with moses (moses being the head) we are baptized into Christ (Christ being the head) Jhn said we would be baptised by Jesus (in the HS and an eternal fire) so we are either baptised with the HS, or we are baptised into hell. There is no other option.

It has to do with defining terms, the passage you used does not support your point, Interpret the word (baptize) not the term
Scriptures?

"Divers tongues" need the gift of interpretation because you can't hear underwater conversation, but the gift of interpretation of tongues can facilitate lip reading.

Um brother

The baptism of water is a SYMBOL of what the baptism of the HS is.

Water will never wash any of your sins away, I pray you do not think this

Only God, through the spiritual circumcision via the baptism of the spirit can cut your sin away so you are made clean.

We get baptised in water BECAUSE we have remission of sin out of obedience to god. Not to get it.

The disciples were saved, But they awaited the HS.. So they could do what Christ did. One of the first things they did was be immersed into christ. Where they experienced complete forgiveness, Which unlike OT saints, grated them permanent indwelling of the HS so they could do all things.

Sorry but you start on an incorrect understanding if Isaiah 28 to construct a false premise to support your position. Tongues are not the rest in Isaiah 28:12 but the word of God. The tongues in verse 11 are the stammering tongues of the Assyrians who were about to take Israel captive. Tongues that are stammering because Israel would not understand them.

Rightly dividing the word of God will correct unsound doctrine.

My friend have faith and seek the Baptism of the Holy Spirit
It is pointless trying to share something you have no personal experience with
God Bless
Scripture never teaches us to seek experiences but to trust in the word of God. The heart of man is desperately wicked and who can know it? If you are going to argue from experiences apart from Gods word we have nothing to discuss.

You cannot refute the truth that you have not rightly divided the scriptures in Isaiah 28 and consequently your suppositions regarding 1 Corinthians is flawed from the start.

How can you ask for something God already has accomplished?

Ps. I believe God still uses tongues today. So I am not a critic of the gift. But of the belief in how one gets the gift
How many who believe this speak in tongues EG?

I asked jesus to save me, a sinner, And he baptised me that very minute on the spot.

if he did not. I am still dead in my sin.
You will get to Heaven in your faith in Christ but empowerment will enable you spread the Gospel more effectively especially with the power gifts of the Holy Ghost (slang)
After the upper experience the disiples accomplished more then Christ did whilst on earth
They had fulfilled Christ's prophecy when HE stated:John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
3000 people gave ther lives to Christ after Peter exalted the name of Jesus, mind this happened in Jerusalem where they had cruxified the lord a month or so before. The people were getting healed by the disiples shadow
We are Christians today because of the disiples ministry: it reached the uttermost
We are saved but God wants to empower all believers. God bakcs up HIS Word with power, power HE wishes all believers to receive

On Sunday the 1st December 1996 whilst in a prayer room seeking to receive the Holy Spirit I suddenly burst out speaking in
a new tongue and my eyes were opened to the knowledge of Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.
I experienced a wonderful revelation about the truth of the Bible and the scriptures that had called me to this baptism in the
Holy Spirit.
That very day God cleansed and set me free from 25+ years of cigarette and marihuana addiction, along with taking away my
intravenous junkie injecting (speed and heroin); and when I relented he took away the alcohol as well.
I was instantly set free without any pain or withdrawal symptoms. "The truth shall set you free."
I have been praying in tongues daily now for these last 23 years not just for myself, but also for others > so many miracles,
so many healings, so many blessings large and small.

Praying in tongues is praying in the Holy Spirit > praying in the power of God.

had to say

Amen! Praise God!

I have never asked, and would not know

But Does that mean we should ignore what the bible says? Or change the meaning of a word? Because everyone believes it?

Changing meanings of words is what gets people in trouble.

Yep

And how did they do them

Because like Christ, and unlike ANY prophet or man of God in the OT

The HS actually CAME INTO these men, and STAYED (or indwelt) in them, as their seal. Their power. Their corrector, their teacher, their discipliner. And while doing this, the HS also gave them all specific. Gifts, all as a means to complete the body.

Remember, In the OT, The HS only came on certain individuals. And throuogh this they empowered them to write, to prophesy to discern to teach, or in the oft circumstance of a king (see saul and david) to help lead. but it was not in any way like it was since pentecose. Because he was never assured to be a permanent seal.

Gifts are to be used to edify the body and through this empower the body to bring people to christ.

It does not matter what Gift he gives you, whether it be the gift of teaching, the gift of helps. The gifts of giving, The gifts of (insert any gift the bible says the HS may impart on a believer) non are more important than any other gift.

No Bro you don't need to be in water baptized or baptized in the Holy Spirit to have your sins washed away
Beliving and repenting in Christ will wash your sins away
You don't both to make Heaven (thief on the cross proved this) But we as believers beliver His Word and we are to follow HIS footsteps
Both baptism will helps us as we "fight the good fight of faith" as we go on this journey

The evidence of the Baptism of the oly Spirit is speaking in Divers Tongue a Gift of the Holy Ghost
Um no sir!

If that was true the gift would be given to ALL men, and even paul states quite clearly this is not true.

It just so happened that in these few events the gifts of tongues was used to support what God had planned for those events

Acts 2:38-39 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Again, your looking at words and not looking up the meaning

Peter told EVERYONE (2nd person plural) to repent

He only told certain people to be baptized (3rd person singular)

He said those who repented (2rd person plural) shall receive the gift (2rd person plural) of the HS. (This is shown easily in the Old English text, when peter said repent ye (plural form of the word you spoken to everyone 3rd person) and let every one of you (singular form of the word, spoken directly to certain individuals 2nd person) be baptised

The only thing thus in question is the word for, or unto.

Th eword for or unto in any language can mean

1. For the purpose of receiving
2. On account that you have already received
And a few others. But these two would fit here

So using this alone to PROVE peter say baptism had to be done in order to recieve can not do that, because it can also mean be baptized on the account you have already received.

In fact, it is shown with what he said after, and those who believed were baptized. (They already had the gift of the spirit)

Either way, If he told everyone to do both in order to receive both, he never would have changed the form and plurality of the verbs,

Um sorry bro. This just is not true. That is what baptism does. It cleanses you.

Beliving and repenting in Christ will wash your sins away
Yes, because these things will cause God to baptise you with the spirit. You did not wash yourself by doing those things, God washed you by immersing you (baptize) into Christ.

You don't both to make Heaven (thief on the cross proved this)
Not sure what your saying here

But we as believers beliver His Word and we are to follow HIS footsteps
And I did after I was saved, and expect everyone else to do this

Both baptism will helps us as we "fight the good fight of faith" as we go on this journey
You can fight the fight apart from water baptism, you will just be lacking obedience to one of Gods commands

You can not fight any fight if your not baptized by God. You would still be lost in your sin

The difference between the Old Testement believers and New Teestment believers, is the covenant.
When you read the Old Testement the term "the spirit of the lord came upon them" only a choosen few and we never will you read God dwells in them.
Only after new covernant we read 1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
In the Old Testament the power of the Holy Ghost was limited. God only manifested His power for a specific purpose. Usually for delieverance or put Godly fear in other Nations or Israel as you know we learn the fear of the lord by reading the OLd Testament
In the new covernant every believer can be empowered in their daily walk
God doesn't need a High Priest, the High Priest lives in you, his name is Jesus
