So just curious, do you all workout and eat right?

I am so out of shape, but started back at it last week. Lord...have mercy, lol. I am determined to be consistent, moderate and realistic with expectations, to be more concerned with health and well-being than the scale or inches.

It just has me wondering...do my Brothers and Sisters in Christ here on CC exercise and all that stuff?

So do you and if so, what do you like to do?

I have been playing racquetball, hiking and some weights, nothing radical. What is harder for you, eating healthy or exercise? I told my daughters that I can not stop for at least a month and then set another goal. You know, no getting onboard for a week, then just say...nahhhh, lol.

I do neither. Being disabled and depressed something like exercise is difficult for me to motivate into, though I would very much like to.
Eating healthy would be Way harder. I'm a picky eater. Plus I Hate hate hate cooking. Adding that it's not good for me to stand that long too often. And that I don't do any of the grocery shopping or cooking I don't get much say in what's made.

Yeah, it must be an extra bummer wanting to but you can not. I mean you don't really want to do the eating thing, right, so the not exercising when you want....sigh.

racquetball is so fun!

sadly i've moved since i played last, don't have a partner ((wife's knees are too bad to play something like that)) and don't have a court to play in anyhow :p

i'm not in great shape. but i swordfight a few times a month, and that keeps me *somewhat* exercised. never had any trouble eating healthy, but because of some health issues can't do anything involving a huge amount of cardio. i can walk miles and miles but can't really run for long :(
this makes post rather sad, because he used to be very athletic. se la vie -- not sure if i could handle racquetball or not at this point, but i think so -- it's less strenuous than tennis ;)

I have a physical job that is strenuous that is my work-out. My diet is probably not the best but I am underweight so I can eat anything that I want, whenever I want and as much as I want. I do take daily vitamins though but need to drink more water. And of course, quit smoking.

Depends on what you mean by eating right. I am either doing it right, or doing it very, very wrong.

As for exercise, I walk my dog a few times a day, which includes going up and down a few flights of stairs every day. I'm planning to get back into resistance training, but not until I finished becoming fat adapted again. I used to lift weights but have some back issues I need to get taken care of once I drop some weight, so I have been doing bodyweight exercises instead. I do feel much better when I work out.

I try to drink plenty of water and get my nutrients in and all that.

Yeah it is so fun, but I am still a beginner so I am barely getting racquet time, more chasing the ball, lol.

I think it must be so fun swordfighting. Yeah I understand the there was a time, but oh well. As long as we keep moving a bit when we can, eh?

How cool that your work keeps you strong. It has to be a perk to be able to eat whatever you want. Good that you supplement. I just started taking multi vit again.

That is one blessed furr buddy. That time must be a great part of your day. I hope the nature around you is pretty. Good that you have goals in this realm. I am trying to do the same, but nothing lofty, mostly to just keep at it.

i used to play some of my math professors -- there was me, 20-something, young, been an athlete all through my youth, fast and strong and i have really long reach - losing almost every time to this man about 60, short and paunchy. he hardly moved. he taught me what being good at the game was about; he was precise with his shots, and he knew just where to stand so he didn't have far to go. he played the angles, had honed skill, and played smart

you can do it :)

I eat right and exercise.
My exercise is mostly walking (I try to get lots of hills in!) and random home exercises (some with weights).
Baby steps are good when starting to exercise. Building up your endurance increases what you're able to do and feels pretty good to boot!
Some days I don't want to do anything active, but I remind myself it's good for me physically AND mentally!
Usually once I get started, I'm glad I did.
God bless you as you purpose to strengthen the fearfully and wonderfully made body God gave you!

Well, I use my break time at work to walk laps around the parking lot (at least when it's tolerable to nice out, if there's 2 feet of snow I'm staying inside). And in theory I eat low carb meals, in practice it seems I eat low carb meals for a few days then decide I'm going to have dessert or pizza or some of whatever tasty treat bible study group has for snack. And after a few days of bad food I decide I need to eat properly again.

No, I don't workout or eat right. And let's just say....it's starting to show on my body as I get older. Might be overweight before long if I'm not careful.

I have two gym memberships, free weights, a treadmill, a mountain bike, a wetsuit, a bodyboard, swim fins, and two drumsets. And I barely use any of them :sneaky:

I don't eat right. I eat left. Whatsoever my hand findeth to eat, I eateth with all my might.

Actually I don't eat it with all my might. I think that might be my saving grace. I don't like being bloated-full. But I do eat what I want.

I also drink BEFORE meals, rather than WITH meals. Something my mommy taught me. It's much healthier, and after getting used to it, it feels much more natural than having all your lunch sloshing around in a belly full of water.

But with all that, the pounds did start creeping up on my the last few years. So last year I took up biking. My job is about 14 miles away so every day that is not freezing or pouring I bike there and back. It worked pretty well last year... then winter and holidays happened, so here I go biking again this year.
