First of all, you are a man, so you don't really know how women feel about it...it's not that we NEED it, because we don't...but I mean I'm a woman, and I love to wear make up (not like a clown as you said) but the regular, because it makes me feel better(not prettier or sexier) I do it because I LIKE it, not to make guys like me...see it's hard I mean It's like me telling guys or girls not to buy good clothes that make you look better, or to guys not to shave ever or even to the girls(that would be so weird)..
what I mean it's that WE as women or men do certain things (wear earrings, shave, put gel, wear perfume, deodorant, etc, etc)that make us look good....you are not gonna tell me you don't shave because God created you with mustache or beard and you can't take it off??

it's hard to explain, if you are a girl wether you like make up or not, it's good, just that I think is disrespectful saying it's bad or that some girls look like a clown, or say it with so much hate..I mean you don't have to be that way.

God bless

make up comes in different versions. So it depends what you really want to be banned. there's what women apply to enhance their beauty, media guys especially those who read news or in talk shows need make up to ease the shine on their faces caused by camera lighting and clowns need make too to make them look hideous :) I think we need make up for so many reasons. I only think men should be banned from wearing make up to save us from us from horror sights

Was this post directed at me?

Clearly you haven't read the whole thread. I don't think I ever said makeup makes girls look like clowns.

And by the way, the feeling of wanting to look better is not a special one that is reserved for women only, so don't play that card!

Anyway this thread beame boring a long time ago. I can't wait for the day that someone shuts it down.

Ha ha. Mr. Sharp, your post made me laugh.

But in all seriousness, we can't BAN makeup, right? I mean that's crazy. I don't like football because I think it's lame and boring, but I'm not going to try to get it banned.

I think that makeup is fine, and just like wearing flattering clothing, it makes a woman feel pretty. It's really no different than a guy making his hair look good, or putting on some cologne, or wearing a nice suit. Sometimes a woman has too much makeup, and that's no good. And I do agree that women don't NEED it to be good-looking, but that doesn't mean we should make it illegal. :p

Finally! An American male who thinks football is boring and lame! Hallelujah!

Anyway where was I...

Wearing makeup is exactly like wearing clothes in the sense that from a biblical perspective its not a crime to want to be pretty but it is a crime against our fellow men if we overdo it. And again it very much depends on the occasion.

I get angry at Satan when I see women who have perfectly fine skin wearing so much foundation you could take a wallpaper scraper to their face (I thinktheres another one the devil convinced theyre ugly. I get angry at the world when I see a Maybeline or Loreal ad playing during hours that children typically watch tv and young girls are brainwashed to think they have to look like a half starved airbrushed models.

I also hate it when guys preach on a topic that has nothing to do much with their own sex (therefore they have little experience or knowledge on the matter) when theres plenty of male lead issues you could harp on about like pornography, wife abuse, viagra, male hair replacement, men tweezing their ear and nose hair, the purpose of speedoes etc.

I garrentee Sharp that by the time your in your 40s/50s/60s you'll start to grow hair in places you wish it wouldnt grow while you lose hair in places you wish you had more. Women will slowly begin to not look at you and if you have children you will no doubt get frown lines that your teenage daughter will laugh at while you enviously watch your teenage son eat large quantites of fat, sugar and salt while you struggle to get rid of your middle aged porky belly with your home exercise gym.

You don't think during that time you might consider using some form of chemical treatment to ease one or more of those ailments? Of course your answer to that question is irrelevant til your middle aged and rubbing products on your shiny bald head.

Sharp I heartily approve of your principle (most of it) in the way that I hope your point is that you think your sisters in Christ are beautiful without makeup, but I have to say your method is awful. I also hope you think non christian women are beautiful the way they are as well (as Gods daughters, even if they don't know it).

Leave women's business to the women (because quite frankly this topic always finds itself to the #1 spot in the ladies thread so its not as if we've never debated this ourselves). I think your better off practicing what you preach. Instead of being angry at women for their ill informed choices why don't you pray over us? Like men, women sin and come back to Gods will at different timing, HIS timing. Do us a favour and go to a mall and walk around the makeup counters and clothing stores and do some spiritual warfare prayer. Pray for your sisters when you see another television ad for useless makeup, pray for your sisters when you see a man picking up a porn magazine and hours later wondering why their wife/girlfried doesnt look that good. I dare you to visit a burns unit at your nearby hospital and pray over every single patient there. This matter is never going to be black and white so I think its best you stop.

God bless :)

Alot of people sipping haterade on this post right here :p

I couldnt be bothered reading through 21 pages of posts so i thought i might state my view.
I mean if it helps a man or woman gain some confidence to put it on, let them do it. I personally see nothing wrong with it, unless youre a cake face and stack it 1 inch thick everytime you go out, even then its there choice.

This thread would go away if people stopped replying to it.

I know I am replying to it right now. But every time I log in, I see that someone has rebuked me for something that I wrote more than a year and a half ago.

I won't respond to most of your thread except for one part. The discussion of makeup is not the exclusive domain of women. Telling me that makeup is "women's business" is wrong. Men have to look at it. At the risk of being controversial, I would say makeup affects men more than it affects women!

Anyway I'm glad this topic is discussed alot in the ladies forum - whatever ladies' viewpoint is on the matter, its important for Christian ladies to discuss it.

The correct answer is YES.

Why?

Becuase it makes me want to vomit, that's why!

Whoever you are, woman or man, YOU DON'T NEED IT!

If you don't like the way you look, the worst thing you can do to yourself is put paint all over your face.

It's just so gross!!!!!!!

I hate the way lip gloss shines when the light hits it. I hate the way eye shadow leaks when it gets wet. I hate the way foundation comes off and you can see two different face colours. And I HATE fake nails! And I HATE the way all of this stuff smells! Its nauseating!!! HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE!

If you wear makeup, please tell me why you think you need it, and I'll tell you why you don't.

Sharp.
this post is interesting. I wear makeup cause it makes me feel better about myself. I don't need it I choose to wear it cause I can.:) I'm sure you'll find a woman who hates wearing makeup as you do seeing it.

lol bet you're going to respond to someone and this thread will go on FOREVER, except they are having a discussion on the Bible discussion forum about how forever might actually mean forever. lol

... don't feel lonely my husband hates when I wear makeup too. he makes ecky faces but he hasn't "banned" it lol. he makes the same faces when he has to put on his suit and tie. so I don't put much stock to it ;)

Hope you find a lady who hates makeup as much as you do. :)

this thread keep popping up and I was wondering why. wonder if the mods can delete/ stop posting comment on threads after a year or so.

I wonder if the OP dislikes when women shave their legs & armpits? That's artificial & purely cosmetic. Don't see him complaining about that though.

why respond to the post then complain it won't die? why should it be deleted just because its old if its staying active?

I'm an American male that hates football. Sports in general actually.

I don't mind a little makeup. If a woman wants to highlight her looks a bit so what? Just when it starts getting heavier I think its bad looking.
