The real tragedy is that some Christians fails to realize that the sinners will not come to Jesus despite said Christians habit of acting like home based assembly lines of condemnation.

Jesus didn’t do that.
When it was time He did.

Jesus went out to confront the sinners first hand. He was God reaching out to the people who hadn’t seen the light. He didn’t sit on his lazy (something) spitting out condemnation. He was there. Amongst them.

Jesus would never be condemning people by remote control. He told them face to face, or he was simply a reminder because HE was THERE.

Now, I don’t condone the gay lifestyle, but no one cares about someone pounding out Bible verses to change their ways. You need to be right there with them, serving as a reminder of the gospel.
The nation of Israel did not need to be preached to in regards to the letter of the Law. Their issue was the heart and that He preached of a lot. And when the time came when it was appropriate He had words of condemnation.
He went Amongst them to share truth always and if they were not of it, trust me His words and PRESENCE were condemning to them and they did not stick around long.

Going to a gay wedding, or any other abominous event signifies acceptance. It signifies moral support. How is Ricky's nephew supposed to realize that what he's done is wrong? Especially since Ricky (or anyone else) didn't stand up and make a loud objection to the perversion that happened on the so-called "wedding day".. God created marriage for MAN AND WOMAN. Not MAN AND MAN. He created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve..

Lots of people have objections at weddings. Very few have the walnuts to stand up and say something. RollEyes.gif

Oh the straw man argument. If you had nothing to add, that is what you should of posted; nothing.

If you have an issue with what was written in the post show the error please.

If you wish to continue to talk about the fact that I used the phrase "trust me". Please know I will not be responding. Que Sera Sera.....

You say you walk with the Lord, maybe you do, maybe you don’t, but the mindset you’ve been displaying so far is a legalistic one.

You’re throwing Bible verses at me to make me fall in line and do things your way, or else I’m working for satan. That’s Christlike? What you’re implying by saying so is that people not buying your legalistic mindset are false teachers. Do you have such authority?

How did you become like this?

What are you afraid of?

I have been to many places where sinners are gathering, I’ve been doing charity work and by that been telling people about Jesus.

I have met people in terrible situations, and what’s comforting then is sharing the word of God.

I have so far not been to a gay wedding, but I would sure go if I was invited. I think it’s more important to show satan that we don’t easily scare, rather than hiding at home, frightened to death by satan.

You don’t save sinners by shunning them, but by showing them.
I think I agree somewhat with what you are saying. It's an attitude of the heart. We have "that group" that holds up signs that says "God hates F#gs" and then we have the other side that wants to see them come out from the bondage of sin. I totally believe people can tell your intent. I believe homosexuality is a perversion, marriage is between a man and a woman. I also believe we should be in no way accepting of it. I believe we ought to say it is sin, but it is the manner in which we say it. Is it from a heart of love and want to see that persons soul saved or are you just barking to hear your own self talk. Sinners know the difference of those who care for them and those who are acting self righteously.

A quick story. My mothers uncle was not saved most of his life. He was brought up in church but went his own way when he came of age. Now there are plenty of Christians on my moms side and they often told him he was a sinner. They would say "the devils at his house". That usually meant alcohol, and he would drink too much at times but he wasn't an alcoholic. My mothers family didn't drink or do the things my uncle did. But when we would go back to my mothers home as kids we would always go to visit that uncle. The other family members wouldn't even go to his home or if they did they would constantly preach at him. But we would always visit. My mom never brought up anything about sin, never preached at him. She told me one time he thanked her for visiting and said "You always come to see me, yet you never preach at me." She told him he was her favorite uncle and that she was praying for him. He simply said " Don't stop praying" Years later just before his death one of the family members that was a pastor went to him and gently spoke to him about his soul, he gave his heart to the Lord before he slipped into eternity. People know your heart, so I agree be a light. Know when to speak, know when to be a silent witness.

LOVE Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
1 Corinthians 13:6 KJV

The truth will sound like condemnation to sinners but they need to know the truth. But grace comes before truth. Some people will abuse grace but will never accept the truth. What is the your heart's purpose for attending a gay wedding? Is it out of grace? It is witnessing someone commit an abomination. Something that dishonors the Lord. Are'nt you dishonoring the Lord by celebrating with them in their wedding?

Jesus did. He made gallons and gallons of it, also First recorded miracle in John's gospel.

They seal their fate? Really? How so? My understanding is that there is only ONE unforgivable sin. Jesus said so.

Is He not a witness to it regardless of who attends?
@Waggles @lightbearer since you disagreed/showed displeasure with my above post by putting a red "X" on it, I am wondering: what specifically do you disagree with? Do you not believe John's gospel account of Jesus making wine for a wedding party? If drinking was a sin, do you think Jesus would have encouraged and supported drinking in such a way? Or is it that you do not believe Jesus when He said that all manner of sins would be forgiven except for blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? My third point concerns God's omniscience and omnipresence. Is that what you disagree with? Or perhaps it is two out of three, or all three. Please clarify so I can help you believe what the Bible says.

Does it matter? We should be thankful we are not in the OT times. Or else, all people rejoicing in that gay wedding will burn like in Sodom and Gomorrah. Would you risk offending the Lord by going to a gay wedding? God is tolerant for now but His mercy will turn to wrath soon.

What is worse than your response is some actually liked the shallowness of your Post. I’m not saying this to be mean. Prayerfully I hope you see the truth of this and grow from it
Your post didn’t deserve any other response. It was rude and condescending. You calling me shallow is the pot calling the kettle black. You may be used to people backing out when you’re acting like that, but it doesn’t work that way with me.

I wouldn't go, ugh no. ..... But I also wouldn't judge him for going to his nephew's wedding.

Ok. No one can judge him. He asked a question because of his dilemma. It is still his decision. And he already went to the wedding. We are just saying what we believe because the discussion is still going. Maybe for the sake of those who are having the same dilemma.

I see it more as bringing the Holy Spirit into the enemies lair. And NOTHING disturbs the enemy like the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Let's go back to the part where Kevin refused to kiss Saul publicly. That tells me his spirit is still getting the message of right vs wrong - and that makes him accessible for correction down the road.

No offense but you should have brought the HS into the wedding by standing up and objecting to it. That's what I would have done--objected loud and clear.. lol

You can't be a good witness if you're afraid to speak up for fear that your family might disapprove.
