When believers first receive the Holy Spirit through God’s free gift of mercy/grace,
they receive everything: reconciliation, justification, righteousness,
(positional) sanctification, holiness, salvation … everything!
Hello BCSenior...
How does Galatians 3:3 inform your position?

Nice try....no dice.....how would you deacribe works of wood, hay and stubble that get burnt to a crisp?

And the verse I cited was written to saved, immersed church members....try again!!
If they are still alive...they are not saved...they are born again.

Another sinlessness in the flesh, works salvation preacher enters into our boards... Is it a delusion or is it pride that leads to one thinking they don't sin anymore? Or is something else going on inside the heart of one so deceived?

If it is of grace it is no longer of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace

If it is of works, it is no longer of grace, otherwise work is no longer works.

For by grace we have been saved through faith, not of works.

Sorry man, The bible does not agree with you it can. Ot be both it must be one or the other.

This would refer to one's initial salvation experience >>> Ephesians 2:8-9.
Nothing to do with works following salvation.
It says have been saved, it was a completed act.

Paul spoke to those who thought we were initially saved by the spirit but then had to perfect or maintain that salvation by works of the flesh.

He called them fools.

3 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you [a]that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed [b]among you as crucified? 2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? 4 Have you suffered so [c]many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain?

1. eph 2, Have been saved

2. Romans 8, we were saved in this hope

3. 2 tim 1. Has saved us...not according to our works

4. Titus 3, Not by our good deeds, but by his mercy he has saved us.

Should I go to Eternal life, and prove we HAVE it also?

Hello BCSenior...
How does Galatians 3:3 inform your position?
Galatians is mostly about Jewish Christians wanting to ADD to what Jesus has already
done for them ... by going back and performing some of the old works of the Jewish Law.
Paul says in Galatians 5 that because of them doing this ...
they have been estranged from Christ and have fallen from grace!
Here again ... so much for OSAS.

There are many NT verses about the result of habitual (unrepentant) sin,
which were written in the epistles to the churches!
I like to think that I'm wise enough to NOT ignore and/or reject all of these warnings.

The apostle johns word on habitual sin and the child of God.

1 john 3. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

You should stop thinking you are so wise. And humble yourself to find the truth..

You can post all you want.. The truth will ALWAYS come out..

Jesus paid your debt, The law condemned you. You can not do one thing to cause one sin to be forgiven

You are either under grace or you are under law. Those are your only two options.

Galatians is relevant to anyone who is preaching a different gospel. By adding works to the gospel of christ. The type of work does not matter, the message is the same.

Thanks for the Welcome!

It's comforting to see that you understand the red above!
But, what happens to a BAC who goes back into habitual sin?
And what happens to a BAC who stops repenting?

Yes, of course, we have verses such as the blue above.
We have many NT verses that appear to be OSAS ...
if we don't understand what some of the words actually mean.

BAC = Born Again Christian

This fellow was in the habitual sin of having sex with his mother! Notice how he doesn't lose Salvation, just the possibility of his physical flesh:

1 Corinthians 5:5 New King James Version (NKJV)
5 deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord [a]Jesus.

So yeah, there are grave consequences for the sinning Christian. Loss of family, loss of health, loss of even life, loss of eternal rewards.

But the ONE THING that ISN'T lost is eternal life!

1 john 3.9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him;
and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
Okay, we'll have to see how this verse can be reconciled with
the MANY NT verses which are dire warnings to the churches
about the deadly results of habitual sin!

Could it be that these verses were written to
those in the churches who were not BACs?

It might just be worthwhile for everyone to
RECONCILE the so-called OSAS NT verses
with those NT verses which stand against OSAS.

Isn't it ridiculous to stand on dozens of verses
while ignoring and/or rejecting many others?

Ridiculous!

Yes, RECONCILE all of the NT verses together
so they are understandable and believable
and in harmony, etc. --- I have.
So why wouldn't we reconcile the MOUNTAIN of eternal security passages and the few difficult passages with OSAS rather than the other way around?

No

John stated a fact

We have to take all those other passages, and make THEM line up with Johns word.

If someone states a fact, you have to make all agree with that fact,, You can not try to force that fact to agree with things which contradict it

If you study the OT law. Moses declaired (and paul confirmed in Gal 3) that in order to save yourself, you had to bey the law with not one sin.. No one could meet that standard, in fact as paul said, all have sinned and fallen short.

If we can not meet Gods standard before salvation, what makes you think we can meet it (perfection) after. We still fall short.
