The continually surrendered life is the easiest way to define exactly what NT saving Faith is.

The application of NT saving Faith is communicated to us by the use of the Greek word pisteuo, 248 times in the NT.

Pisteuo is defined in the Vines Greek dictionary as, " A personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender. Producing a full acknowledgement of God's revelation of truth."

The Strong's Greek dictionary gives us an important disclaimer, it states," pisteuo means NOT just to believe!" The words the English language should have had for the translators are faithe, faither, and faithing.

The problem is the English language doesn't have a corresponding verb to the noun Pistis, where we get our English word Faith, like the Greek does. So the translators were forced to choose a different word to translate possibly the most important word in the Holy Scriptures. They chose the words believe, believer, and believing, which are a part of NT saving Faith, but taken on their own is error.

True NT saving Faith, pisteuo, is a verb, "an act based upon a Belief, sustained by confidence." We fulfill hundreds of acts of pisteuo or faithing every day all day. Each act of pisteuo or faithing is a specific act, based upon a specific belief, sustained by a specific kind of confidence.

NT saving Faith or pisteuo is specifically surrendering our life and will to Him. Based upon the specific belief that God will accept, maintain, sustain, transform the surrendered life. Sustained by a specific kind of confidence, in making the many daily decisions that support the fact our lives are not ours anymore but His now.

The question was asked, " what does the surrendered life look like in the Temporal.?"

To keep the surrender genuine, I can only show you what the beginning looks like, or how to start it.

God, I offer myself to thee, to have with me and to build with me as thou wills. Relieve me from the bondage of self, that victory over this may bear witness to those I would help of thy power, thy love, and thy way of life. May I do thy will always. Amen

My creator, I am now willing that you should have all of me, the good and the bad. I pray that you now remove from me every single defect of character that stands in the way of my usefulness to you and my fellows. Grant me strength, as í go out from here to do thy bidding. Amen.

This is what the surrendered life begins like, is maintained like, and is completed like, putting everything in His hands continually.

As a tool to maintain the covenant, the contract, the personal relationship with God, the surrendered life or offering of ourselves to Him must be done a new every day. All day sometimes if needed.

When we see our surrendered life starts to look like what's being recited in those prayers, we know He is doing His part!

Questions?
When God repeats Himself, pay extra attention!

Pisteuo , a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender is repeated 248 to es in the NT.

Pisteuo means NOT just to believe!

If you don't surrender I'll shoot the cat:

It would be like being under the gun all day long I am sure.

But that is a very cute kitten, he/she probably did not get to the litter box on time, poor thing! :(

Repeat after me "I will not repeat myself".

We don't need a PHD in Theology or linguistics to be saved. We only need to accept that Jesus died in our place and ask him to forgive us for our sins and try our best to follow him. When we stumble he can lift us. Uneducated illiterate people get save too! goodbye and good night. It's past midnight here.

No such thing as believing in what Christ did and said for Salvation. What Christ did and said was the occasion for Faith. Faithing must be in Christ Jesus Himself. No surrendered life, no relationship.

The only difference is the surrendered life I presented is at the very beginning of the Salvation process. So without the Spirit of Christ being sealed into the surrendered life first, at the beginning, Christ, His
Word, and the promises in His word are not ours to claim yet.

The passages you presented would only apply after the Spirit of Christ has been given towards the end of the process.

This is what makes Faith and faithing so hard to explain. The Pisteuo or faithing we fulfill at the start is done in a different state of being than say during the testing ground or after we've received His Spirit.
Rather than try to explain "in my own words", I tend to stick with Scripture.

1 Cor 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

1 Cor 3:10-11 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

God will give the increase when we speak His Word. That is why we are cautioned to take heed how we build.

In the OP, you indicated what "the beginning looks like, or how to start it", which is by saying these words:

God, I offer myself to thee, to have with me and to build with me as thou wills. Relieve me from the bondage of self, that victory over this may bear witness to those I would help of thy power, thy love, and thy way of life. May I do thy will always. Amen

These are your words, not God's Word. 1 Cor 3:10-11 tells us to be careful how we build upon the foundation and we are reminded that there is no other foundation (the Lord Jesus Christ). I see no mention of the Lord Jesus Christ in your prayer.

God gives us very simple instructions about what "the beginning looks like, or how to start it":

Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

God's word is the testament of other people's surrendered life. I'll have my own surrendered life, my own testament, my own epistle that will also be God's word.

This verse is not about a "continually surrendered" life to secure salvation.
The Strong's expanded exhaustive concordance of the Bible: Pisteuo #4100 says - to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), to entrust (especially one's spiritual well being to Christ). It goes on to say, Pisteuo means not just to believe, but also to be persuaded of; and hence, to place confidence in, to trust, and signifies, in this sense of the word, reliance upon. Saving faith is belief, trust, reliance in Jesus Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation. (y)

In Hebrews 11:1, we read that faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Now let's break down "a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender." It sounds to me like Vines is mixing the fruit of faith with the essence of faith and "on the surface" that may appear to support salvation by works, which would explain why those who teach salvation by faith + works are very fond of that definition.

When we choose to believe in/have faith in Christ/reliance upon Jesus Christ for salvation (John 3:18; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 2:8; Philippians 3:9) we are entrusting our spiritual well being to Christ, along with placing confidence, trust and reliance upon Him for salvation. That would be a personal surrender to Him.

The life inspired by such surrender which "follows" is the "fruit" of faith. Faith in Christ is the root of salvation and works which follow are the fruit. No fruit at all would demonstrate there is no root. If you believe in/have faith in/reliance upon Christ for salvation, then you are trusting in Him alone to save you. This belief/faith results in actions appropriate to the belief/faith (to one degree or the other/all genuine believers are fruitful, yet not all are equally fruitful) - but the actions/works are NOT INHERENT in the belief/faith.

By senior do you mean old? Lol, because soon, I too will be getting that much needed discount, lol.
So your one of those who will be held accountable for setting a stage for your flock to treat others in that manner!

I came here to discuss a legit problem in today's church world. Just like Christ warns of , my pearls were trampled, then they turned and trampled me.

And the worst part, is not one of you would stand with me!
Your Blood IS on your own hands now.

You don’t even have a grasp of basic English yet you’re trying to circumvent 2000 years of belief on the hinges of one word. You’re comical yet dangerous.

Yes I would agree completely here, makes sense there is always some little twist. While words can have multiple meanings I think like you context is key, plus the entire message of scripture.

Why would one stand with you, you have yet to make a convincing argument from scripture that is.
