and this means follow the law or do not follow the law?
Commandments in the Gospels
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Commandments in the Epistles
James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
1 Cor 14:37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
1 Thess 4:2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
2 Pet 3:2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
1 John 2:3, 4 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1 John 3:22 - 24 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight . . . And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
1 John 5:2, 3 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
Commandment in Revelation
Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
These commandments are not to get salvation. Jesus is not the Testator of the New Testament; He is the Testator of the First Testament to which the Lord obtained the redemption of the transgression that were under the First Testament. Still, the Lord is the MEDIATOR of the NEW TESTAMENT.
Heb 9:11- 18: (11.) But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; (12.) Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. (13.) For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: (14.) How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (15.) And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. (16.) For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. (17.) For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. (18.) Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
