Wipe out!

In life, your gonna take some falls. It won't be your proudest moment, but it can be a turning point for something amazing. It's all how you look at. So, the next time you eat dirt, look up, dust yourself up, and keep going like nothing happened. Whatever you do, don't dwell on your mistake it. Learn from it!

Just today I wiped on my bicycle and some people saw me fall. I smiled, dusted myself up, waived to let people to let them know I was o.k., and just kept going. I learned road tires on bicycles don't have the same traction as off road bicycle tires. Mental note taken! haha!

I personally think making mistakes shouldn't be looked down upon, if it wasn't done on purpose. Some people like to learn the hard way. Maybe some of your hobbies or how you think isn't the most popular, but God made you different for a reason. I know my views and life style isn't very mainstream, but I learned I'd rather be a trail blazer, than stuck in traffic. With that said, embrace your uniqueness and make the most out of it. Let your light shine!

So, with that said, feel free to share some of your most humbling experiences. Falling, failing, being clueless, and etc. I would like to think this would be a no judgment zone thread, but I know I can't promise to not laugh at you. I think falling down is hilarious.

That drummer's face does not say he is having fun. It says he is concentrating really hard. I have the same face when I go up Carrol Hill on a bike. Fun to go down, takes some concentration to go up it.

Not on a bike, but several times I've fallen on my face in social situations... which is what I gather you were talking about more than biking.

Main thing is, sit on your pride. The natural impulse will be to deny your mistake, try to make it somebody else's fault or hide it. They already saw you fall and they know it was your own mistake that caused the fall. Acknowledge it, get up, dust yourself off and remember what the mistake was so you won't do it again.

I'd rather not recount that particular story. A few people here who are also part of a certain chatroom knew about it when it happened, but it's not the kind of thing I'm comfortable regaling the forum at large with.

The important thing is I admitted the mistake, apologized to the ones affected by it, and I made certain to understand exactly how I made the mistake so I can make sure I never do that again.

I made the same mistake twice. I hired people from Criagslist on two separate occasions, and let's just say, it wasn't a pleasant experience. Never again! The first guy was impossible to track down and dodgy, so I just told him I hired some one else. Second time I hired two guys to help refinish the wood floors. These guys were nightmares, they broke things, screwed with my electrical box, constantly insulting me, and etc. Ahhh! Half way through, I told them to leave. Sticking with licensed contractors with reputable reputations for now on. Lesson learned twice!

They decided to let the kids out as their parents were waiting.
I saw my son walking by with his friends and I called out 'Hey Harley', he looked over and kept walking fast, lol. The rest is blacked out of my memory or I passed out.

just a share;

one day, some precious girl friends called earlier in the week and asked me to meet up with them
for a girly-lunch (mid 70's) - a great, new, restaurant near a popular mall had opened - we all had a
great time together, a really good meal and a few drinks -
as I was driving home, (2 miles from my home) my front right tire went over the deep, drop-off edge
and as I tried to correct and come back onto my lane, my station-wagon started to jack-knife and I just
couldn't control the steering wheel, it rolled all the way over in each direction,
and while I was trying with all of my strength to hold it, it through me, (without-seatbelt) all over the car,
and I hit all of my body on everything that could cause me debilitating bodily damage, including knocking
out the two front passenger windows with my head...
jaws-of-life, plus breaking-out the front window in order to get me out - long story short, I'm now suffering
the consequences of my very own stupidity, and I also thought at the time that I was a 'christian' - but,
'Conversion came a few years later and now with the after-effects of that horrible mistake that I made,
well they have been slowly creeping up and upon me in a number of ways that are very un-pleasant - BUT,
Jesus has blessed me beyond belief and I am able to cope with those injuries with His help and guidance -
Yes, I do suffer from my mistakes, but He has given me the knowledge and hope and energy to follow His Commands
on how to survive/cope with a broken body, and guess what, (hub has had his very own debilitating circumstances also,
but we both (just don't get the sicknesses of this present world, (virus'-bacteria, etc.), for we have been led to follow
our Heavenly Father's recipes for (good-health) with all of our hearts, because we have learned to Honour our Temples,
and do what ever we can do to KEEP ourselves as True Witnesses of what our Heavenly Father can do for each of us even when
we are at the very lowest-lost times of our lives...

and Yes, we both definitely did 'WIPE-OUT')

My epic fail was to try christian dating online...one guy asked me out from another town and he stole my money, found out he was a druggie and going with several other girls at the same time, while professing he wanted to marry me.

I spoke with the other girl and she said she was sleeping with him. Ugh! My mum didnt let me live it down for a while. i had to call the police and block his number. Hes gone to rehab.

After that I didnt go dating men again or at least not any i met through a dodgy dating site that said it was christian.

I barely knew this lady from work who came from India with an arranged marriage to an American man, but they divorced. The lady is now living with a man who she met at work. So, even arranged marriages have their flaws.

Maybe there is a book written that could shed some light on what it takes to be marriage material. I personally think ignorance is very common in relationships. Do both people in a relationship understand their roles, or is it sliding scale over time?

If your in the dating scene, I would pray constantly, if I was you!!!!!

Not like the singles forum needs another relationship thread, but it turns out arranged marriages have a success rate estimated at 85%. Which is great considering marriages based upon love and personal choice has a success rate of around 50%. So, one could argue it's better to ask your parents for candidates to marry. Also, it shows parents might be smarter than their kids after all. Oh no!!!!

Not only that, the Bible does say to "Honor your parents". So, if you want to get married on the hurry and you have no one in mind, why don't you ask your parents?

The good thing about epic dating fails, is nobody dares ask you when you getting married anymore.
You can just say, if you know someone, send them to me, otherwise, no thanks, am happy I dodged that bullet.
