We must be righteous to live with the Lord eternally, to be saved. Adam was righteous and could be obedient and righteous but Adam fell. Now, we can only be made righteous through Christ. Does this mean that our will must be to be righteous to be saved or can our will be to still sin and still be forgiven?
John the Baptist lived just before Christ, John told us to repent.
Paul tells us he has a will to do good in Romans 7:18----- For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
Is it necessary that our desire be to not sin, for us to repent of our sin, to be saved?
