Hello again, Avisanct! 🙂 And yes, indeed, I have overcome weakness and bad habits THROUGH the power of Almighty God! There have been a number of things He has convicted me that I needed to give up (e.g. phone for a couple of years, mascara and eyeliner, relationships, disrespecting parents, watching reading or listening to secular content). Let me testify to the fact that He has proven Himself Faithful! I give Him all of the glory. And I am still a work in progress.
A) It's great you're acknowledging the problem and praying for help, because those are the first steps. 👍 Next start small. Is there some small goal you could make so that you wouldn't be overwhelmed? My Dad says, "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time." 🙂It takes gradual progression. So my advice is to determine a do-able goal and then begin to work toward meeting that goal. Example: I will complete 2 tasks around the house today. Continue to work at meeting that goal every day for a week. Then set a little bit more challenging goal.
B) Do remember, dear Avisanct, to not allow your focus to be on self-condemnation. Romans 8:1 says there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. The enemy, Satan, wants to discourage and immobilize us. So don't let him. Rather, read and repeat aloud Scriptures about the power of God and His equipping. Ephesians 3:20 says He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us. I would encourage you to go ahead and start thanking/praising God for the victory over this procrastination.
C) For me, in my striving to overcome I have had to do some serious severing. By severing I mean if there are things that enable you to keep doing this bad habit, you need to sever it's influence. So in your situation with procrastination is there anything that enables you to keep procrastinating? If I knew some specific things you are in the habit of putting off I might could explain myself better. But I know I had a bad habit of spending too much time on Facebook a few years ago, so I had to delete (sever myself from) my account. Do you get up late and therefore have insufficient hours in the day to complete all of your responsibilities? This is just something I have had to implement in my life- cutting off those things which prevent me from giving myself fully to God.
Hope this helps some. ❤️
