There's no such thing as "being born gay" or "born a killer" or whatever. The alphabet people will use ANY justification possible to defend their lifestyle, even if that justification makes absolutely no sense..

I cannot say how many times I have heard a member of the LBGTQ+ community, who we love as fellow people made in the image of God, make the comment that they were "born gay" or just "born that way". Geneticists have found that this truth about being born gay does not exist. According to the National Institutes of Health and the New York times https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/22720828/
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2019/08/29/science/gay-gene-sex.amp.html

No, but if you say it long enough people begin to take it as fact. I know Christians who believe this nonsense. A time of strong delusions.

I think it’s hard to understand how anyone can turn gay by choice. It’s like I some morning wake up and say to myself...oh...I’ve become a lesbian over night...

I know I’m not the sharpest pencil... somewhere, so I might have gotten this all wrong.

Many persons choose to believe that homosexuals are born that way because (like you) they can't conceive that someone would choose to be that way without contemplating that there may be more than two options. The third option is that homosexuals (like sociopaths) were made that way (environment).

If you look at the background (upbringing, family dynamic, etc) of sociopaths you will find that by far the majority of them come from homes where they were severely abused. If you look at the background of homosexuals you will likewise find common threads.

This is a red hot topic for sure. Are we Christians being too rigid? We have to set boundaries I know but this seems to alienate and divide everyone.

3 Powerful Gospel Truths for Addressing Homosexuality

Pete Budajedge (Pronounced, at least as media puts it as, Buddha-Judge) , says he's Christian and gay and God made him that way.

I think he's running as a Democrat candidate for president because he's certain the LGBTQ community will make him a shoe-in in 2020.
It's a shame to think what they're actually saying is, I was born an immoral sexual sinner and I'm proud to march as one too.

No, we're not being too rigid at all. The truth will divide people, there's no getting it. There are things in the Bible that will alienate the sinner, we don't change the truth to suit the world. Not ever.

Well we were all born sinful, yet we can't use that as an excuse to justify our sin (regardless how it manifests itself);
but we should use our sinful condition as an excuse to seek rescue from our sinfulness (regardless how it manifests itself).

I can appreciate your stance because I was there maybe 12 months ago too. Communicating with gay activists is enough to make us dig in further.
Now personally Im going to choose my words carefully when talking about this subject to anyone. What would Jesus say? What would Jesus do? Thats the question we need to ask. I dont think he would speak dismissively or theaten them with Hell. He might express his concern at the way the world is going. I think he would speak strongly against same sex marriage though. But he would not denounce homosexuality as abhorrent. Its a trucjy issue and I notice a lot of famous Christians choose not to talk about it. Phillip Yancey is one?

Jesus has already made it clear through His Word. He doesn't threaten the unbeliever with hell?

Leviticus 20:13 KJV
[13] If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Romans 1:26-28 KJV
[26] For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: [27] And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. [28] And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Jude 1:7-8 KJV
[7] Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. [8] Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

I agree!

The desire to live a same-sex life style is a choice, the same as someone making the decision to commit adultery or to be sexually immoral in anyway. It's a choice.

I believe that the reason that this excuse came about, is so that they could attempt to take the guilt off of themselves and blame it on being born that way. In the same way that they have the ability to make the choice to engage in that life style, they also have the choice to reject and resist it.

The problem is, that since they want to continue fulfilling those desires, instead of repentance, they have gone to great lengths to make same-sex a normal practice, which it is not and never will be. They could get the entire world to be in agreement with them, but God is not going to chang His mind about it. It was sin when God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities and it is sin now.

Don't get me wrong, those who are living same-sex life styles can be forgiven just the same as any other sinner. But the problem is that they want to justify that life style opposed to repenting of it.

It's not at all rigid. It's not like we're saying that those living a same-sex life style can't be forgiven. On the contrary, the offer of forgiveness is to them as much as anyone else. The problem is that instead of repenting, they want to justify that life style so that they can continue in it.

we're assuming you are meaning (past-sins)??? = forgiven upon 'conversion' and being given the 'gift of
The Holy Spirit to not only accept His gift of forgiveness for our PAST-SINS, but giving us the 'gift to 'over-come them'
and being given the Faith and Strength to not keep on repeating them, the knowledge and will and courage to NOT
keep on repeating the same ole same ole - (sign of a false conversion) - as we grow and learn to
'WALK in the 'Newness of His Holy-Light'???
1JOHN 1:7.
But if we walk in The Light, as He is in The Light, we have fellowship one with another,
and The Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
