I will continue to agonise over scripture's clear denunciation of homosexuality. I still think most of the Bible is HS inspired. But not all. i disagreed with same sex marriage and I dont really want homosexuality to be thought of as "normal". sorry if that offends Dibbly. I do fear gay activism will promote gayness as normal. Children should never choose their own sexuality. Conservatives are right to protect their own religuous freedoms.
Homosexuality is born of lust. Not something anyone is born with. Not something anyone is born immune to.
It is an addiction and not something to be treated lightly.
It is an addiction people actively fight to justify as "good" these days...
Imagine a man who has a wife, but always is tempted to sleep around with other women......
Instead of living in a world where people look down on this, he lives in a world where there are whole communities to fight for this to be seen as "acceptable".....
Do you think you can just tell him to stop?
Nah..... he needs to see how wrong he is for doing what he is doing.... which can only happen if he knows God is good and hates it and how it effects his wife if he even loves her.... as well as how it effects the other women...
If he stops and sees God as good and does love his wife and wants to show it by being faithful..... and cares enough about others to not support and join in with them doing what God hates...
The lusts of the flesh remain.... he will still have fleeting thoughts or memories even if he holds them captive to God before they grow into day dreams or active imagination
If someone has lived a life giving into homosexual thoughts and temptations.... then become born again
these people should be given the truth
but also much love and effort....
the same way we can get addicted to harmful substances which feed our flesh... even something like mcdonalds... we can become addicted to desires and lusts.... the word "fetish" it used to describe these addictions ....
If they still go around justifying something God hates as good.... I'd separate myself from them...
If they see the temptations as wrong but seem to keep facing rough thoughts and desires
they deserve our time and energy... these may be sapplings in Christ well on their way to a powerful testimony of deliverance and growth in Christ....
people who have came back from rock bottom often have learned lessons many never have to

That is from the bottom of my heart and observations in life paired with all my bible study and walk with God.
(love is wanting the best for someone to the point of sacrifice... not supporting a lifestyle God does not want for them)

You appear to love redefining, and minimizing what hate is.These people love the hate button.
Romans 1 is talking as much about idol worship. It talks about men " leaving the natural use of the woman" ( interesting that no one protests about women being "used"!). In other words they are heterosexual deciding to indulge in idolatrous male sex. Hardly, what we are mainly talking about today.
I,ve been to alot of Pride events. Mainly people having fun. You always get the loonies though who take things too far. I have been appalled by some of the behaviour from some people; but isn't it like that in some churches too? Its humanity folks in all its messy complexity.
It is also easy to judge. But it is no surprise to me that people have formed their own community where they can feel safe and validated.
I don't understand why what I said is so sad. I was never gender confused. I was an only child the priesthood appealed to me because I thought it looked like a really cool job. They always wore neat and clean clothes. Everybody loved and respected them. It was put upon me even before I knew anything about sex, that it was my responsibility to become a father and to pass on the family name. When I became older and learned the difference between men and women, I had no objections.
As an average white boy I never heard of student grants being available to me, but I heard about the GI bill and the "Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country." Slogan. So I did what I thought was proper and beneficial on all fronts. I'm a grandfather now. I have worked a lot with Gays in crisis counseling, substance abuse and prison ministries. My past is in the past. I was never gay. The most I could use prayer for is Rheumatoid Arthritis and financial help to get to my next home north of the border. But thanks for your concern, truly.
What you are calling normal behavior is actually called evil in the Bible. Are you not aware that the US Constitution is based on the Magna Carta and that is based on biblical principles. We live a blessed and privileged life in the USA because we have instilled Christian principles. So yes: We should make, if possible, all sin against the law. Because we must still live in this fallen world until Christ comes back.
That said, do you not realize that behavior like homosexuality actually recruits converts when it is allowed to be openly practiced. Children are confused enough, when someone approaches them and tells them to question their sexuality: they will. That is why God said don't allow evil to be among us.

Magna Carta was a charter that limited the freedom of the king to act in an arbitrary manner and accorded the rights of the
Kings subjects under the law. You are proposing a theocracy in which the rights of people you disagree with are taken away.
Given the power of the state you think you should have ( by making all "sin" against the law) it is worrying that the Judges 20:13 verse you quote talks about putting people to death.....we know, in history, where that ends!
And as for gay people recruiting converts, this is laughable.

the so called evangelist was a practicing homosexual and he was particularly fond of boys...teenagers...was told he was called a 'chicken hawk' by one of his detractors, who, even though a homosexual himself, did not care for this person because of his duplicity and the way he used people. I personally knew these people and and spoke with them

If you're referring to 'the Body of Christ, the Church' yes we are definitely a community, and while there are certainly cinos (Christians in name only) and hypocrites, they will answer as we all will for our own faults.
Re your first paragraph, idolatry is the putting of something above the mandates of God. It's saying they thought themselves so vain as to disregard God's ways and pervert them to their own lusts. Lust is that desire when someone knows they are going against what God said is appropriate and takes the plunge anyway. Albeit, some struggles/urges are stronger than others, if they are not brought into subjugation and replaced with Scripture.
In another reply you said gays recruiting others is laughable. I've seen otherwise. On one popular show, this rich gay guy was attracted to a very good-looking male. He knew the male was looking for a female but kept ogling him and making advances, tbh it was sickening. It was on the show so the 'object' was trying to bow out w/o sounding offensive, and it was sick that he would even have to be approached like that esp on air.
Also, I'm not judging you as I am not a judge. But if someone asks my viewpoint, I'm not going to sugar-coat it, bc I would be guilty myself of doing that. God bless.
We could all give examples of people who abuse other people, whatever their sexuality. I,m not sure what you are trying to prove? This does not evidence an orchestrated campaign of recruitment, merely that some human beings behave badly.
Well attractive people do get chatted up. That isn't "recruitment". Nightclubs are full of people trying to hit on others. We do have the ability to say we aren't interested.
I,m very happy for God to judge me. The problem comes from judgements from other people.
Well, to me the gay guy looked as if he was insistent on swaying the other male and yes men hit up on gals and vice versa. I had a sinful lifestyle and turned myself around. I had to pull back the reigns, God bless.

we all know what is actually going on here...the actual orchestrated campaigns are the LGBTQ community trying to run the country here and their militant marches and websites. suing Christian companies to attempt to make them have no choice in how they run their own companies because the minority is moved by anti God sentiments and they despise the Bible and Christians pointing out what God states about homosexuality
