I’m a rule follower at heart. Even when I’m the only one to use any food item or container, I use it as if someone else were going to. 😂

Double dipping makes me cringe.
Yeah, I would have to say this is my stance. Just stop and think, you are adding bacteria to the jar or jug.

Having lived alone for long periods, I noticed thinks I wasn't careful with spoiled rapidly. Plus, you never know when someone might show up.

I do have a slight OCD about being clean (I am not fanatical).

I lick all the yummy food so all the leftovers are mine! :p
Why do I have in image of Mike lining up all the leftovers in front of everyone, then picking up each dish, licking it in slow-motion while triumphantly declaring, "THIS is mine" (lick, lick.) "THIS is mine" (lick, lick, lick -- just for good measure.) "And ALL THIS is MINE!!! MUHAHAHAHA!!!"

Ok, ok, it's all yours, we'll just go hungry for the rest of the week!

Food tastes really good when you eat with your bare hands. How many of you have tried the boodle fight?

View attachment 208068
As long as all the hands were washed beforehand I’m ok with that!
I know this is going to sound like I'm going against everything I've stated already in this thread, but I have to admit to being totally creeped out by cultures in which everyone just dives right in with their hands (although American potlucks and buffets are less than half a step behind, and I've eaten at plenty of those.)

I guess I've watched too many episodes of "Forensic Files" to know that everyone carries some kind of creepy crawlies under their fingernails, even after a good washing.

For some reason, I'm not afraid of my OWN germs... But everyone else's?

Thanks, but I'll have to pass.

I'm mostly not one to eat/drink out of containers. Except for normal things like chips. But I've also not really ever lived alone much. Even if I did I don't think there'd be a drastic change.
But a Hershey's bar dipped in the peanut butter would be my first switch hahaha.

I understand but did you know how heartwarming and exciting it is to eat with your family or close friends and you have to eat very fast because if you don't, the food will disappear in seconds?

And can you picture a couple eating with their bare hands on the same plate, sometimes feeding each other. Don't you think it's sweet?

When you're single anything is fair game.... Why bother to dirty a dish for the chip dip when you are the only one getting into it and double, triple dip all you want as you are the only one eating it.... I used to just open a can of green beans, corn, beets, or carrots and that was a meal just eat it out of the can and toss no dishes and no left overs. Corn had the highest calorie count and you get filled up drink a can of V8 and call it a complete meal....

Also eat out of the peanut butter jar, the squirt whipped cream can right in my mouth....don't really drink out of the cartons unless the juice is down to the last little bit then why bother to dirty a glass?
All of these are good suggestions worth considering.

I always do that since nobody shares food with me... But honestly I don't let anyone drink my drinks or eat my food if I touched it already...😊 I feel bad doing that... I would buy or give them unopened or untouched food or drinks.

Andd if i am home with my family i also do that 😂 we eat using our bare hands sharing food and we drink in one container and put it back 😊 but not if we have visitors we don't want to gross out our visitors 😂 as much as possible we give them the visitors plates, forks, spoons, cups and glasses and untouched fresh food 😊

Ohhh i remember an old friend where I grew up if he got food or drink in order for us not to ask his food if we see him eating or holding one...he will playfully lick it and lick it and will ask us "who wants this I'll happily share it with you" 😂😂😂 while we are looking at him like ewww and call him "madamot" stingy 😂

I get pretty easily grossed out. Especially with food ... stuff. I won't eat from a buffet or anything like a public trough. Sneeze guards are a good thing, but not if somebody actually sneezes on it and you can see it. Or all you can eat places? Oh my. Can't do those either. Some guy dives his spoon in the scrambled eggs - where has that spoon been? Where has he been? Just... no.

Maybe this should be in that habits/quirk thread that scares people off....

I have reason to believe you like fine things from your previous posts. Is that you, on your fancy ride?

Depends how I feel, sometimes I do, most times I don’t.

If there‘s only little left of juice or something, I would.

But in terms of double dipping and what not, that’s a criminal offence.
