“Other than the Cross of Christ, there is no Atonement for sin, no forgiveness of sin, no eradication of guilt, no Eternal Life, no new birth, no Baptism with the Holy Spirit, no Mercy, and no Grace, etc. In other words, every single thing we receive from God comes to us by and through Jesus Christ and what He did at the Cross. Perhaps the following little formula will help us to understand it better:

• Jesus Christ is the Source of all things that we receive from God (Jn. 14:6; Col. 2:10).
• The Cross of Christ is the Means and, in fact, the only Means by which these things are given to us (Rom. 6:3-5; I Cor. 2:2).
• The Cross of Christ and the Cross of Christ alone must be the Object of our Faith in order for us to receive what has been given (I Cor. 1:17, 23; Gal. 6:14).
• The Holy Spirit, Who works exclusively within the parameters of the Finished Work of Christ, oversees all of this (Rom. 8:1-2, 11; Eph. 2:13-18).

Let us establish the fact that it is the Cross of Christ alone which addresses sin. And please understand, when we are speaking of the Cross of Christ, we aren’t actually speaking of the wooden beam on which He died. We are rather speaking of the great victories He purchased there with His Own Blood, in other words, the benefits accrued to us. Benefits, I might quickly add, which will never cease, hence, Paul referring to the Cross as “The Everlasting Covenant” (Heb. 13:20).”

I wonder how long MoTC will continue the conversation with himself.

Hopefully long enough to realize that he's following a false teacher.

The Believer must understand if they by pass the Cross, i.e., the Scrafice, i.e., the Blood of Jesus, then judgement must fall of them. Judgement will always fall on the Sacrifice or the one who calls himself a Believer.

Concern this:

The Believer must understand that when God doesn't see the Believers heart exhibiting Faith in His beloved Son "The Lamb of God" in whom He is pleased, you have chosen another Jesus (2 Cor. 11:4) which produces strange fire and strange incenses.

When Aaron's sons Nadab & Abihu, Priests of God, ordained of God, called by God, and anointed by God - failed to take coals of fire from the Brazen Altar (A Type of Calvary), but from another source, and put those coals of fire on the Golden Altar, which sat immediately in front of the Veil, which hid the Holy of Holies, where God dwelt between the Mercy seat and the Cherubim. They were devoured by fire from the Holy of Holies. In other words, to do such was, in effect, to bypass Calvary, which God could not tolerate.

Man can come before God only on one premise, and that is by and through the shed Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. That and that alone, which the Brazen Altar and its Sacrifices typified, gains entrance to God in any Form. When Jesus said, “No man cometh to the Father but by Me,” He was speaking of what He would do at the Cross of Calvary, which would make all of this possible (John 14:6).

If you bypass the Cross (The Lamb of God-The Blood of Jesus) you enter death!

He seems to be more interested in Jesus hanging on the Cross then that of the Risen Lord who ascended to the right side of the Father. Last I knew Jesus was the Lord of the living and not the dying.

It is likely tthe reference is directed to the fact that we are dying with Him on the Cross.

That said, my thinking is always to all of His Gospel which is my fuel and exhilaration....

Jesus, Yeshua, lives and is glorified now and forever, amen. We shall live with Him, because of Him...

It is by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross that the penalty for the sins of all who trust in that Atonement was paid.. The rising of Jesus from the dead was confirmation of the Atonement.

Jesus rising from the dead did not save us..

His dying on the cross saved us.. If we believe it, that is..

Faith in Christ is the key! Not faith in a wooden object! The only reason the Bible says things about "preaching of the Cross" is because Jesus died on a CROSS. But the CROSS itself is just a piece of wood and many OTHERS were crucified just like Jesus. What makes JESUS' death of infinite value is that He was the INNOCENT Lamb of God and He died for US sinners who DID NOT DESERVE IT. Thats the key there. I wonder if Jesus was decapitated if Christians would walk around with golden guillotine necklaces?

Jesus rising from the dead did not save us?

A lot of people believe that Jesus died on the cross and it does not save us.

Romans 10:8-11
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

The answer you seek, is found in the Cross. Jesus Christ is the solution for mankind - there is no other! It takes the Power of God to set the captive free. Many bypass the Cross for their solutions and Grace is cancelled. These problems we face are too severe to be talked out of anybody. Bondage (taskmasters are demon spirits that come to afflict - Exodus 1:11) can be broken only by the Power of God. This is why Jesus had to come from Heaven and die on the Cross in order that the power of sin may be broken. Sin has a power behind it and his name is Satan.

If a Christian will and their efforts to live for God is in anything except Christ and the Cross, i.e., Finished Work, The Blood of Jesus (Romans 8:2), Satan can override your will and force you to do things you don't want to do and trying not to do (Ephesians 6:12). Our willpower is routed in flesh. This is why Jesus said deny yourself and pick up your cross and follow me (Luke 9:23). In other words, receive my benefits daily I have provided for you.

The Christian is doomed to failure if he thinks he can face the sin business and simply say yes or no. That's not the way it works. Those who try that (and almost all have) will conclude by failing every time. You may win for awhile, but after awhile, you're going to fail.

Now, stop and think about this for a moment: If it were possible for us to defeat sin and the attacks of Satan by willpower, then Jesus would not have had to come down here and die on a Cross. He could have merely taught us how to function within our willpower, and that would have solved the problem.

However, He didn't do that, did He? The truth is, the problem of sin is so deadly that it took the Cross to defeat this monster, and even then, we have to have the help of the Holy Spirit to get this thing done. That's why Paul said, "But if the Spirit (Holy Spirit) of Him (God the Father) who raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He who raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit who dwells in you" (Rom. 8:11).

This tells us that sin is so powerful that it takes the same power to overcome this thing as it did to raise Jesus from the dead, which, of course, is the power of the Holy Spirit. Understanding that, we should come to the conclusion that our personal willpower is totally inadequate.

However, most Christians little understand the victory of the Cross and try to do this thing on their own, which always results in failure.

The majority of Christians know nothing about the Cross of Christ for sanctification. Justification delivers us from the penalty of sin, while sanctification delivers us from the power of sin. The Cross of Christ is as necessary for sanctification as it is for salvation (1 Cor. 1:18).

Because we are in this body of flesh, as Paul said, "We have not been perfected yet (Philippians 3:12-13)," and because we have a enemy within and a enemy without (the world, the flesh, and the Devil), you can still get tired of trusting. This is why the scripture says:

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1

Christ must always do the first work.

The faith of Christ, the faith of God according to his work of faith or labor of love is the only way sin can be defeated .

That new faith, our fre gift previously having none .is not of our selves. lest any man boast in false pride. Not in from us. but rather of Christ coming from him. then him having performed the first work we can have faith toward him. Without his faith or labor of love working in us we can do nothing.

Christ is agape love and we are crucified with Him (as He is so are we); because we are in Christ sin can never attach itself to the Believer! It is not I that bring the victory, but me being crucified in Christ who gives us victory over all things.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. Gal. 2:20-21

Of course that scripture is true.. We must also believe that Jesus was raised from the dead and we must believe Jesus is LORD... But to believe Jesus did not pay for the sins of those who would believe him when He died on the cross will see that person condemned for their sins..

Isaiah 53: KJV
8 "He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. {9} And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. {10} ¶ Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. {11} He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities."

His Souls being an offering is the same as a lamb being offered in the temple.. The offering happens when the lamb is sacraficed.. Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world..

Proverbs 21:27
The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?

The wicked are those who do NOT have their faith in the promise of Christ and His sacrificial work at the cross, and God has declared that whatever other sacrifice they may bring, such as Cain did, it is a wicked abomination to God. The Lord also says that when one brings a sacrifice to Him with a wicked mind, that it is even much more an abomination. The wicked mind is without a doubt the mind that actually thinks his own works are pleasing to God just as Cain thought and expected God to be pleased with the work of his hands. God only looks at the object of one’s faith, and when He sees the heart of man believing unto righteousness, which is in the cross of Christ alone, He is pleased. Outside of that one object of faith, He cannot be pleased (Hebrews 11:6). It is the faith of the Son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us which we live by (Galatians 2:20), and in which God is pleased, or we aren’t living and He isn’t pleased.

Seeking God in His Word and experiencing Him through faith in the sacrifice of Christ!
