I would love to share with you all my newborn grandson Tommy , he was born this morning...
My mum died when I was 3 , I had no grandparents and my dad deserted me and my 3 sisters...

Before I was born again , I used to cry to my mum , asking her to look after me , blaming God for taking her the way she did , and leaving behind 4 little ones who all off our lives where wretched...

But now , O my goodness , God has restored to me more then what the locusts ate , He brought me beauty from the ashes...

He has blessed me with 15 grandchildren , and another on the way , my prayer is that God may use me to bring my grandchildren to Him , that they know His name , and His Son Jesus...

Praise God

Sister can a child of God live in sin?
What does it mean to live in sin.... you yourself spoke of a time when you strayed from your faith.
I sin everyday I am sure... the flesh.
The part that cannot 'live in sin" is Jesus within us... we need to live as new creations but it does not mean every person will...but they should.

You know I spend a lot of time with just average people most of them are not abject sinners and criminals... the flesh is many things self-righteousness being one... so even a child of God can live a very self-righteous life .. and definitely seem very moral and all that.

John said a child of God can not live in sin, that those who do have never seen or known God.

so I am asking you, do you believe a child of God live in sin?

Maybe clarify what it means to live in sin
Live like the world. Live like he did before he was saved. focused on self (flesh) in all they do (even when they do works which seem righteous, it is still a work of the flesh)
the same defenition John uses, I am trying to make A Point,

Something sticks out with the people who believe Salvation can be lost , JOY , yes , they lack Joy...
I have said it before , and only by my observations I keep noticing this , they tear down rather than build up...

Jesus said there are two foundations , Rock and sinking sand , they remind me that they feel they are walking in fear , always ready to sink some more ...I think that is why I do not see Joy in their post , it is very sad indeed
Maybe you are talking about how you respond to the posts, rather than what they are feeling.
Believers I meet in real life love the Lord, want to share the joy He brings, overflow with generosity and help.
Some are security minded, some not.

Rock is building on Jesus and His commands, sand is ignoring Jesus and living in the world.
Fear is not what I hear from most, rather who they love most, Jesus or the world.
The gruffest people I know find forgiveness the hardest thing possible.

Psalm 95:1-3
Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.
For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods.

Thanks for responding.

If you do not mind I would like to give two examples that maybe you could expound.

What about an addict who struggles to overcome but hates it and prays daily for help. Who truly wants to be set free?

What about those who feel they have to work for salvation?

Whatever is not of faith is a sin.

this is one sin, has other area of his life changed, has his thinking about addiction changed?

What about those who feel they have to work for salvation?
Where is their faith in God? Why do the lack faith?

whatever is not of faith is a sin.
Amen, and whatever is not of love is sin.

Maybe this is why you are so mistaken in your Theology. You do not have the ONE TRUE foundation.

THIS, is THE Gospel unto Salvation. If you add or alter it in ANY way, you are accursed:

THE Gospel unto Salvation:
God wrapped Himself in human flesh in the form of His Son, Jesus the Messiah. Conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin. He suffered, was crucified, and died to pay OUR sin debt. He was raised to life from the grave to prove He had defeated death. If you confess Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that His Father resurrected Him to Life on the 3rd day, you WILL be saved. You will be filled, and sealed with the Holy Spirit, who will empower ALL to turn from their sins. The sin of adultery, lying, stealing, homosexuality, gossip, slander, drunkenness, covetousness, etc... And most importantly the sin of DEAD works, or a moral life in an attempt to EARN Salvation. He will also equip you to love like He did and do good works for HIS Glory.
Acts 2 is Peter sharing the walk of Jesus and the reason He came and died, and rose again.
The response was conviction followed by repentance, faith and baptism.

They were then baptised with the Holy Spirit.
This is salvation and sealing it with the Spirit.

If this is good enough for God, it is good enough for me. Anyone who finds fault with this, I wonder what and how they believe.

Acts 2:38
Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

These guys got saved. It makes me think some maybe actually adding to the gospel while claiming they are not. One test is would any of the believers in their book actually be saved?

Rock is building on Jesus and his love

and through love, living in a way that by defenition does not break commands

also called the law of love

Which verse in John please?
Actually 1 john chapter 3

4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.

7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

his faith is dead..

can that faith (lack of) save him?
Okay either we are talking James or John?
