What did you put your faith on for your salvation, according to which scripture?
The Father led me to Jesus, Yeshua, without my yet having read the Word. Then He gave me a Bible and I read the Book, Isaiah first then all of the rest...….....

We do not become believers by words alone, the ultimate belief is by the Holy Spirit, and He leads us to all understanding intended for each of us.

1 Corinthians 15:3 - For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

What do these words mean?
In case it isn't clear, I'm basically asking what it means that Christ died for our sins.
GOD loves RIGHTEOUSNESS, so then If sin were not addressed It would have not been true to say GOD loves RIGHTEOUSNESS.When Adam|eve became disobedient to the VOICE of GOD, he made a choice and which GOD allowed him to make his choice and he made the wrong choice to listen to a voice that wasn't from GOD therefore he had decided to do things his own way so then you could say that he walked away from GOD but thank GOD GOD did not walk away from him but made a way for man to be In a relationship with HIM but the only way this could be done righteously was for man to fulfill the law Perfectly and we know that because of the weakness of the flesh no man could fulfil the law perfectly.

Paul wrote I delight In the law of GOD after the Inward man but I see another law In my members warring against the law of my mind and bringing me Into captivity to the law of sin which Is In my members.

Enter JESUS JESUS fulfilled the law perfectly and HIS sacrifice was accepted by righteous loving GOD making atonement for us.

Praise GOD.
Hebrews 1:7-10
King James Version

7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

8 But unto the Son [he saith], Thy throne, O God, [is] for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness [is] the sceptre of thy kingdom.

9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, [even] thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

I am asking you what scripture you used to know you are saved.

You quoted Paul earlier right? What would he say?

Church age? Are you not aware that the assemblies of God, Yahweh, are the Church? It has been since the first assembly of Israel. Study the Word before exacting agreement with your personal doctrines.
The Church, the body of Christ began after the resurrection. There is no Jew or Gentile in the Church.

Think on this. All who are saved are the Body of Jesus, Yeshua...…..From the believers of the OT to the end.

I believe I mentioned Paul and paraphrased something he teaches. As for how I came tyo believe , I need not quote anyone. The Father led me to Jesus, Yeshua. If one reads and understands the Word, faith is a gift from the Father, and not man can believe our Savior unless it is given him.

Now I have read the Word many times since that wonderful day in the Spring of 1969. Looking back I see it was what many call Good Friday...…..a Wonderful day for the lost who seek, amen.

Hmm, isn't this thread title an obvious hint to you, you were saved by following what Paul stated in 1 Cor 15:1-4.

Is it that difficult for you to say?

I am sorry, if you need a specific text, which according to the Word, is dead without the Holy Spirit, to be your foundation for salvation.

When I confess Jesus Christ as my Savior in faith, I am not to concrned with what some sanctimonious judge decides I must recite. My fiah is not rote, it is alive and it keeps me alive in Yeshua.

I did not know when I respond to a post here, and I am not referring to the first post but the post wot which I respond, I am not participating by your rules.........….If you post somethng and dI, with my manner of paritcipating, respond, I am within the framework of the original post, where ever it has wantered. Sorry, but with the need for various helps to see, I usually respond to the posts to which I have been alerted and the latest post....Thanks for the reminder that I do not respond to the original post always, sometime never, but to the ones to the which I have been alerted, very kind of you.

It was a one-off event that the Holy Spirit did to signal to Peter that God was ending his program for the Jews, and the grace dispensation was beginning. If you recalled what Acts 10 stated, the Jews were astonished that God could pour out the Holy Spirit to Gentiles, thus signaling their salvation, even when they were not circumcised, which was a critical part of the Law of Moses.

God arranged for Peter for that one-off event so that he could defend Paul later on in Acts 15. There was no biblical record of Peter ever preaching to the Gentiles after that event.
Just because the biblical record doesn't report it, we can not assume that Peter never preached again to the Gentiles. Peter being with the Gentiles was surely not a one-off event, as we know from Galatians 2.

What's happening in Acts is the transition to the new way of life for both Jews and Gentiles who believe in Christ Jesus and his finished work on the cross. This becomes even more clear through the letters/Epistles that follow Acts. There is no doubt that the Jews who walked with Jesus and believed in him were under the law. There is also no doubt that it was a rough transition for them, some more than others it seems, to break free from following the Law of Moses. I'm glad the Holy Spirit leaves some of our "dirty laundry" in the Scriptures to help us see the new way of life more clearly.

I'm thankful for this discussion, and I appreciate the time you have taken to write your point-of-view. I'm curious to know if there is any particular group or denomination that holds the views you're espousing. One ramification of this belief system you report is being against water baptism for Gentiles, and I'm interested to see if this is prevalent among certain people.

Yep, it has been a nice cordial discussion, we can agree to disagree, no problem.

Here is my view on water baptism:

The Jews needed to be water baptized in the 4 Gospels and early Acts because the Kingdom was "at hand".

Once the Jewish nation accept their Messiah, they will all be priests spreading the good news to all the Gentile nations. (Zechariah 8:20-23)

Thus water baptism was the step involved to enter that priesthood.

For Gentiles, it was not required for salvation since we were only included after the rejection of Jesus by the Jewish nation. Ours is to believe in Jesus's death burial resurrection and we are saved (1 Cor 15:1-4, 1 Corinthians 1:17)

Practically speaking, you can go ahead and be water baptized if you feel it will be a public testimony of your belief, especially to your unbelieving friends and relatives.

But at the end of the day, when people ask you, "How do you know you are saved?" If you were to ever think in your heart that water baptism has something to do with that confidence, I think that would be wrong.

If people asked you a question, "How do you know you are saved, according to Scripture," I think its good to be able to explain it simply, using Scripture.

But if you disagree, I am fine too.

For four days the Holy Spirit kept Lazarus's flesh from corrupting.
The resurrection power of God is able to raise us up from the dead. In the emergency room the problem is to revive the cells in the brain. When they do transplants they are able to put the body part on ice to keep it from decomposing.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts. I'm still curious to know if your view is based in the beliefs of a particular group or denomination.

I have been resurrected from the dead many times. I can not even count how many. There are people that like to take credit for that also.

This is mid acts dispensationalism.

Thank you very much for informing me of the label for this belief system. It will allow me to conduct so more research on the matter.

If I'm remembering correctly, you mentioned the 1Co 15:1-4 passage as being somehow for the Gentiles only. If so, how do you reconcile the following verses, vv. 5-11, that mention Cephas and James preaching it?

1Co 15:11
[11] Whether, then, it is I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.

Les Feldick and CR Stam to me are the main proponents of Mid Acts, so if you are keen to learn more, these 2 will be the first to start off with.

Think of Acts as a transitional book where 2 concurrent messages of good news were going on simultaneously (Galatians 2:7).

Even though we now know that the offer of the Kingdom was postponed after the stoning of Stephen, we had the benefit of many years of hindsight. Peter, James the Just, and John, could not have realized that during the time in Acts, so they continued to preach the gospel of the circumcision.

Your point about 1 Cor 15:11 does not have to mean that the 3 of them were preaching the exact same message. After all, the events explained by Paul in Galatians 2 indicated that the 3 of them agreed to restrict their ministry to the circumcision only. Only Paul and Barnabas are to minister to the Gentiles.

But, if by some chance that the 3 of them did end up preaching to Gentiles, they are not to impose the Law of Moses on them, and to tell them (Gentiles) that they are dead to the Law. That is how I understand 1 Cor 15:11.

I do very much appreciate you sharing these resources. It strikes me as suspect how certain terminology such as "offer of the Kingdom" is believed to somehow be reserved for only Jews. I don't believe Paul, the most educated of all the apostles in terms of the Scripture and the Law of Moses, viewed the Kingdom of God in this manner. Check out Colossians 4:10-11.

[10] Aristarchus my fellow prisoner greets you, and Mark the cousin of Barnabas (concerning whom you have received instructions--if he comes to you, welcome him), [11] and Jesus who is called Justus. These are the only men of the circumcision among my fellow workers for the kingdom of God, and they have been a comfort to me.
