Lol...

Now I have an image in my head of a black-and-white outline of something like a toaster on Amazon with outlines of 5 stars beneath it, but with a line drawn down the middle star to show that it only got 2 1/2 stars.

How many people would be rebellious and color in all 5 stars anyway, and in a different color than yellow?! :D

And, for all our techie-loving friends, how about --

A picture of 16 charging/data cords that you have stashed away...

All of which you find only 2 that might possibly work.

I'm not a techie person but this seems to happen to me all the time!

Hey Everyone,

Some friends and I were talking about the popularity of coloring books for adults, which led to some humorous ideas for a coloring book based on "Adulting" in every day life.

Obviously, we're not talking about inappropriate "adult" themes here, but rather, coloring pages based on the everyday responsibilities of being a grown-up.

If we had been given "adult" coloring books when we were kids, would we all have been in such a hurry to grow up?

Here are a few ideas that got thrown around for things that could be turned into the coloring pages of an "Adult-Themed Coloring Book:"

* The dashboard of a car with the "Check Engine" light on.

* A sink filled with dirty dishes.

* Tax forms.

* A picture of a piggy bank that is weeping profusely!

How about you? :)

What kinds of pictures would you contribute to a (family friendly) Adult-Themed Coloring Book?
The Coffee coloring book! Use exciting colors! Like brown, browner and light brown and black for the bitter but adventurous people. 😎

Ok here are a few
I actually did the first one as a jigsaw puzzle, but it could be a colouring in (and its colourful)

The contents of the pantry where you might find a few surprises like cans of worms
A full shopping trolley or
The interior of the fridge stuffed full of food (healthy adult food, like fruits and vegetables, no carbs and kiddie junk foods)
The wardrobe rack of clothes hanging up (sorry guys, if you just wear black and blue clothes, you are boring)

Cars in a parking lot or car parking building (make sure your car stands out)
Books in a bookshop or library (adult section, arranged by genre...)
Lasagna garden - colour the different layers

The people you work with. (customers, workmates, etc)
the contents of a recycle bin

Break out the colour pencils. You can see colour everywhere you look.

christmas lights in a tangle.

Im suspecting some of us live in a real mess...do you need help? Theres no shame in admitting it.
I have spent entire days cleaning up and tidying other peoples messes.,.its part of my job description.

handy tip...use coloured tape, you can get all different colours. Colour code everything.Buy ten colured sharpies and label everything. Easier than using a dymo.

Lol...

Lanolin, all your posts in this thread just made me think of idea for our adult coloring book: how about a page featuring an outline of a giant flushing toilet, because apparently that's what you're doing to even the slightest smidgen of humor that's been attempted in this thread...

Maybe you just don't understand or like this kind of humor?

No worries -- I get that my sense of humor (and general presence) isn't for everyone, so I'm sorry to bother you if you find my ideas or what they produce to be too boring for your standards.

Unfortunately though, it won't stop me from sharing these types of thoughts when I have them, so if you find what I write to be that annoying, please feel free to put me on ignore -- I would totally understand. :)

no its fine seoul.
I have said the first instance I didnt really get your premise. Please dont take it personally....

I love your idea though cos I think colouring books are great. Adults need more colour in their lives, colour isnt just for children. I worked in a library where the boss didnt allow colour.,,she was into minimalism. So we couldnt even do any displays and no posters on the walls. The walls were white and the carpet was grey. And most of the people who worked in management were...white.

Ok, this one may fall into a "fantasy page" category, but...

How about a page where the posters on CC all agree on at least one point of doctrine?

Or better yet, how about one where if someone disagrees with you, they can express it in love without using disparaging epitaphs?

Yeah, like I said, it falls into a fantasy category.

This one is for the 45 + crowd. A pile of reading glasses. No matter how many you buy, they all seem to congregate in one area.

Good heavens girl, who peed in your cheerios? Is this compulsion to trash any idea that is not yours a reflex action, or more of a deliberate plan?

I doubted the people who said you were a troll. I argued in your favor. But I'm starting to see it the "she's a troll" people's way.

I would resemble that remark, but I've worn glasses since I was 12. I am, however, better than 45. ;)

Binky the cat... though I don't recall now whether he appeared in Beverly Hills Cop, Lethal Weapon, or Police Academy.

I tell you something. I once got in trouble for trying to colour in our very boring public library. I ws working there at the time.
as said the boss into minimalism, and she had commisioned an artist who put this white lei on the wall..to me it remined me of a funeral wreath but anyway.

in chinese culture white is a funeral wear. as are chyrsanthemums. It just looked to me like someone had died.

So I found these colourful leis the kind they sell at the $2 shop with brightly coloured flowers. I thought I would brighten the place up by incorporating these into the lei that was already hanging there.

Boy I got in trouble. the artist apparently had this 'concept' that white was supoosed to symbolise something or other. He wasnt even islander so its not like it was a genuine cultural artefact. he stripped off all the colourful leis and threw them in the bin.

To this day that wreath is still hanging there 14 years later, going grey cos nobodys dusted it.

Im now in charge of my own library, and I have bright coloured flowers everywhere decorating the space. If a child who is a member of the library has an artwork they want to put up, and they have an idea to decorate the space I let them. why cos its their library which they share and they want to make it their space.

who am I to say no it has to be an offically recognised and commisioned artwork, which inevitably is boring with zero imagination

now outside of the public library theyve decorated it with birds spray painted by local youth. all colourful. it used to be just plain white before and would get grafittied and they were forever painting it white again. well now its got coloured up and coloured in, nobodys daring to graftitti it.

I had this idea for an activity book but Its annoying as I couldnt find the photos for it.

I was going to have all my school photos in one photo album and the children have to find me in amongst all the classmates, like 'wheres wally'. In two pics Im wearing my favourite blue and white striped t shirt. but this was the days before school uniforms, however, in high school pics everyone is wearing the same school uniform so it is kinda like wheres wally in amongst 30 other classmates. I am the one wearing glasses...

I'm hoping the school pics will turn up as Im sure they in a folder somewhere...arrgh
Lord help me find them...! I have looked everywhere.
