4100. pisteuó
Strong's Concordance
pisteuó: to believe, entrust

Original Word: πιστεύω
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: pisteuó
Phonetic Spelling: (pist-yoo'-o)
Definition: to believe, entrust
Usage: I believe, have faith in, trust in; pass: I am entrusted with.

4100 pisteúō (from 4102 /pístis, "faith," derived from 3982 /peíthō, "persuade, be persuaded") – believe (affirm, have confidence); used of persuading oneself (= human believing) and with the sacred significance of being persuaded by the Lord (= faith-believing). Only the context indicates whether 4100 /pisteúō ("believe") is self-serving (without sacred meaning), or the believing that leads to/proceeds from God's inbirthing of faith.

4102. pistis
Strong's Concordance
pistis: faith, faithfulness

Original Word: πίστις, εως, ἡ
Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine
Transliteration: pistis
Phonetic Spelling: (pis'-tis)
Definition: faith, faithfulness
Usage: faith, belief, trust, confidence; fidelity, faithfulness.

4102 pístis (from 3982/peithô, "persuade, be persuaded") – properly, persuasion (be persuaded, come to trust); faith.
Faith (4102/pistis) is always a gift from God, and never something that can be produced by people. In short, 4102/pistis ("faith") for the believer is "God's divine persuasion" – and therefore distinct from human belief (confidence), yet involving it. The Lord continuously births faith in the yielded believer so they can know what He prefers, i.e. the persuasion of His will (1 Jn 5:4).

Hi all.

Prayers please.

Today I was diagnosed with glaucoma.
It's secondary as as result of pigment dispersion syndrome.
Quite rare but can be aggressive.

It seems for me it is aggressive, mainly in the left eye but not the right eye.
Will they be doing surgery?

Explain the following....

MANY are called, but few are chosen.

MANY does not equal all
FEW of the MANY is even less

Explain why the number if FEW if MANY are called.....!
Many could mean 2/3. Few could mean 1/3. Although some people believe that few means 10% or a remnant. I believe 1/3 of the people will be saved. Yet only 10% actually server God. This has to do with the garment or the flesh. We are told in Zechariah 13:8,9 "And in all the land, declares the LORD, two-thirds will be cut off and perish, but a third will be left in it. This third I will bring through the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’”

Don't be obtuse. Don't you know when somebody pulls out a singular definition that they are the only ones smart enough to stand under the original Greek?
Great point. I will just sit in the corner and be accute.

You mean the Strong's and Vines aren't even close. I don't need to Google something that I know nothing about,I have the most up to date Strong's and Vines books sitting in front of me. These aren't my opinions I'm enlightening you with , I'm copying the definitions word for word, written by the world's leading Greek scholars.

Oh , and the 33 years of study on this topic at a Stanford University level of teaching, ya I know , what a joke!

Why don't you wake up in he morning and go tell a brain surgeon how to understand his life's work.

I don't need a self proclaimed wise man to know my Father.

Your works mean nothing to me, nor will they impress God on judgement day.

Why would you think my works could replace the Gift of Grace? I don't!

"Appeal to authority" does not support your argument btw

This is a logical fallacy.

You said that because an authority thinks something, however it does not logically follow it is true.

Thanks, keep me posted on any other factual changes you and your flock are making on the fly.

Strong's: "pisteuo means NOT just to believe."

Vines : " pisteuo is a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender."

I'll inform Strong's and Vines their wrong! But if they ask who you guys are and what your qualifications are as linguists and in Greek scholarship, I can't answer that. What are your qualifications to suggest the Strong's and Vines are incorrect?
Inform anyone you want they’re wrong, I couldn’t care less.

I live by the words of Jesus Christ, and am empowered by the Holy Spirit. Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ has eternal life. Semantics be damned.

Well good luck with Google. Funny how someone as myself goes out of his way to give you something more important than you can ever know. Spends hours and hours trying to persuade you, and you turn to Google and trust someone who you don't know a thing about and wouldn't give you the time of day .

So be it!

Still waiting to hear from you RebuildJesuschurch.
