Nope.

Go back, read the scriptures every time the Holy Spirit is mentioned.

We don’t follow commentaries, we follow scripture. Go read your Bible.

commentaries are as varied in what they say as are the writers of same

there are better tools available, but the Bible makes the best sense when understood as a book and not chapters and verses (which of course as most of us know were not in the original but I think we forget that sometimes and pull a verse out of context as though it stood on its own)

the Holy Spirit is right there from Genesis 1:1 to the end

besides, if cessationists write commentaries, and we know they do, you will assume that position rather than what is true

Applying 1 Kings 8:10-11 to help us understand the sealing, baptizing and filling us with the Holy Spirit is contextual sense. Yeshua/Jesus is the Ark of the Covenant placed inside of our hearts, He carries the Presence of God inside Him, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit and Yeshua/Jesus baptizes us with the Holy Spirit.

Our body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 6:19 New International Version (NIV)
19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

Solomon built, consecrated, dedicated and placed the Ark of the Covenant inside the Temple in Jerusalem, THEN God filled the Temple with His Glory Cloud. It was a phenomenon.

1 Kings 8:10-11 New International Version (NIV)
10 When the priests withdrew from the Holy Place, the cloud filled the temple of the Lord. 11 And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled his temple.

The same thing happens to us. It's phenomenal! It's God's Will that ALL believers be sealed, baptized and filled with His Holy Spirit.

God sets us apart, consecrates us and seals us with His Holy Spirit when we receive Yeshua/Jesus' Body and Blood.

AFTER sealing us with His Holy Spirit, God baptizes and fills us with His Holy Spirit.
You have wat too much clutter in your soteriology. One baptism many fillings according to scripture. Fillings and baptism are not the same thing and the original manuscripts make this clear. They use different words and for the most part the translators got it correct. You have however managed to conflate the matter into something unrecognizable from scripture.

You keep referring to the body and blood. What do you mean by the body? I understand the blood is for atonement but how are you adding the body?

It's NOT just Acts, it's ALL the scripture - EVERY TIME the Holy Spirit/Holy Ghost is mentioned in the Holy Bible.
since this person constantly thinks to provide himself with entertainment here in this forum, I would not bother to respond

I have never seen anyone in all my time here, attempt to disprove most of what most of us believe...basic doctrine

he appears in all threads and attempts to discredit anything that gives God glory

no one has to prove a thing to him since he already does not seem to believe very much

I don't want to get into it with the poster above, but he is wrong

the Holy Spirit does not enter our souls...our souls are already alive

alive but sinful

the Holy Spirit quickens our SPIRITS and creates new life in us and enables us to commune with God once again

our sins are forgiven, but the soul is not the seat of the Holy Spirit
Don't know that I can agree with your analysis. God breathed into man and he became a living soul not a living spirit. It is the soul that returns to God Who gave it.

From what scripture are you drawing your conclusions?

10But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who dwells in you. 12Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation, but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it.…

the righteousness of Christ, in us, by the Holy Spirit, creates life in our spirit

40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.

48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

I Corinthians 15...in the KJV even

when Adam became a 'living soul, by the breath of God, and we know he did not die physically when he sinned and we know if you have no soul (the seat of our intellect, personality etc) you are pretty much a zombie, then what died? wasn't it his spirit? he was created in the image of our tripartate God...so what died was that part that lives on after death...the soul, at least I think scripture also indicates this, lives on also...but without new life, without being 'born again', the spirit cannot go to God when we physically die

But you are not in the flesh, you are in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Any one who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. (10) But if Christ is in you, although your bodies are dead because of sin, your spirits are alive because of righteousness.
(11) If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit which dwells in you.
Romans 8: 9-11

I don't know how it can be plainer than the above

The Spirit in the passage is the Holy Spirit not mans spirit. I do not think your particular translation of the bible does justice to the passage.

Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 ¶ And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

Since you received SCRIPTURE (not my opinion) what you just said is that God the Holy Spirit was wrong to have Paul write what He wrote. That is very serious denial of the Word of God.

"For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one Body" are the words of the Holy Ghost.

The Spirit is not the Son nor the Father
The Father is not the Spirit nor the Son
The Son is not the Spirit nor the Father
Nehemiah6, you are preaching lies and twisting what I post.

Go and read ALL the scriptures that mention the Holy Spirit/Holy Ghost. Seek the TRUTH, not "denominational doctrines" that are FALSE.

aaaaannnnndddd here is why I am not really caring to debate with you Roger...past behavior is definitely an indicator of future behavior once again

I never said anything about our spirit being the Holy Spirit. the thing is, since you reject so much about the Holy Spirit, you do not have the ability to understand much of what is said about Him

those verses indicate what I said to be true. our bodies are dead...so are our souls as far as salvation is concerned, WITHOUT the Holy Spirit...and by the way, there are depths to that statement that are proven true in this very thread sadly. the flesh exalts in itself as those who poo poo the gifts show...and again I know full well about the abuse, prob more than many

The following explains the Body and the Blood of Yeshua/Jesus for Salvation - remember it's the Bread and the Wine.

By receiving the Body of Yeshua/Jesus, we receive the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
By receiving the Blood of Yeshua/Jesus, we receive total forgiveness and penalty paid in full for all our sins.

The Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus is the Human Fulfillment of the Law of Moses. While on the Earth, Yeshua/Jesus fulfilled all of the Human Law of Moses in His Body - every good work and obedience to the Law of Moses was recorded and fulfilled in the Body of Yeshua/Jesus, as well as all that the Prophets had written about Him.

On the Mount of Transfiguration Yeshua/Jesus was examined by Moses and Elijah - the Law and the Prophets. He was transfigured because He passed His examination - He had fulfilled all the "works" of righteousness for us.

Now, He was ready to go to the Cross where He would pour out His Blood and give His Life for us so that we would be able to choose Life. His Blood was examined and accepted by the Father. We know this because He rose from the dead, alive forevermore - the firstborn of many brethren. Yeshua/Jesus Christ offers us His Body and Blood, He offers us Life, if we reject Christ, then we have chosen Death.

Yeshua/Jesus Christ is the ONLY SAVIOR for us, there is NO OTHER.

well what else is going to happen with those who reject the Holy Spirit, teach AGAINST Him and value their own reasoning above all else?

sorry...but I am just so up to here with the cessationists

it is like they are just drooling for another chance to speak against what they do not have and apparently do not want us to have either

If you have what you think you have, every church would have it too. Christ said the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church. The gifts had mostly died out by time Paul wrote the Epistles.
“Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.” (2 Timothy 4:20) (KJV 1900)

“Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities.” (1 Timothy 5:23) (KJV 1900)

“Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all. Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first. And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus. Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.” (Galatians 4:12–15) (KJV 1900)

(alternate translation of the above passage) “you know that previously I preached the gospel to you because of a physical illness. You did not despise or reject me though my physical condition was a trial for you. On the contrary, you received me as an angel of God, as Christ Jesus Himself.” (Galatians 4:13–14)(HCSB)

“What happened to this sense of being blessed you had? For I testify to you that, if possible, you would have torn out your eyes and given them to me.” (Galatians 4:15)(HCSB)

“For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick. For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.” (Philippians 2:26–27) (KJV 1900)

Paul left Trophimus in Miletus when he was sick (II Tim 4:20), and Epaphroditus was sick to the point of death (Phil 2:27). Timothy was encouraged to use wine for his stomach ailments (1 Tim 5:23). God never removed Paul's thorn in the flesh (II Cor 12:1-10).

well anyway...another blown up thread as each and every thread on just about anything concerning the Spirit of God,is exploited by unbelievers..no...not those who have never received Christ, but by those who say they have received Him, but they are not eating at the banqueting table and their banner seems to be doctrine rather than love

yet love is also doctrine...but not our love which will always fail others

you cannot eat at that table without partaking of Jesus and if you refuse to accept that life in Christ is supernatural...our very spirits made alive IN Christ, then you cannot go further and MUST pursue the Bible with your own understanding and while much can be obtained that way, TRUE renewing of the mind can only occur as a person walks in the Spirit and subjects themselves according to that understanding and not their own understanding

and no one said it was going to be easy

it is astonishing he would even use scripture because normally we only get mocking one liners

but notice he actually does USE scripture.

he can't explain and he cannot stand the fact he is not the center of attention like he desires to be

best ignored
