Jesus as King?

Jesus sits on the throne of His glory on earth and judges the Gentile nations. Their judgment is based upon their treatment of the nation of Israel during the tribulation.

Matthew 25
31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: Second coming of Jesus
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: nations not individuals from nations as we see at the GWTJ
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: God has prepared a kingdom for His Son for man to dwell with Him
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. The Jews will be persecuted during Jacob’s trouble. Those nations who minister to them during the this time will be given rights to live in the kingdom.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. My brethren is a reference to the Jews. The Church is not present.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. Those nations that ignored Israel and sided with Satan will be cast into fire and torment.
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

= adding your ideas to the word = strange fire.

Matthew 10

We should always be clear that God has always been sovereign over the universe and over all of creation. And that includes the Lord Jesus Christ.

However there are two others aspects of the kingship of Christ shown in Scripture: (1) Christ as King/Messiah of the Jews, who was rejected at His first coming by those over whom He would have ruled (and will be acknowledged after His second coming), and (2) Christ as King of kings over all the nations of this world, AFTER His second coming, when He is not only King of Israel but the King of the whole earth (all nations under His direct control).

That is why it is significant that just before His second coming we find this:

REVELATION 19
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

He was, is and will forever be my King on earth as it is in Heaven.

Yes, a Prince, great Shepherd, Friend, Brother, our Saviour, and yes our King. Great and worthy to be exalted above any other name.

Jesus Christ is indeed the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and always has been. I agree that Jesus has yet to set up His kingdom on earth but this will certainly happen, and judging by the situation in the world, it will be sooner rather than later.

Agreed brother. The kingdoms of this world are currently under the rule of Satan and principalities in high places. At the Lord’s return, the kingdoms will be given unto Him.
