Only because they are bigger. Bigger desserts = better.

The problem there is people cut cheesecake slices so blasted THIN! Takes three to make a decent dessert.

2. How long did you date before getting married? Almost 18 months

3. How long have you been married? 3 years next week!

4. What do you think it is that makes marriages successful and long-lasting? Depending completely on the Lord, learning how to communicate and listen, prayer, letting go of our pride.

1. How old were you when you met your spouse? 20 almost 21

2. How long did you date before getting married? 4 1/2 years

3. How long have you been married? 7 years (8 this fall)

4. What do you think it is that makes marriages successful and long-lasting? Honestly, it takes a LOT of hard work and dedication to the person whom you are married too. It takes trusting each other, confiding in each other, and being open.... basically anything you would tell your girlfriends (if you are a woman) tell your spouse.. and visa-versa if you are a guy. NO secrets, no lies and most importantly, both be saved and follow Christ together. Without Christ as the center hold, you literally have nothing. I have lived with my parents and my in-laws both, and both SUCK at being models for a decent marriage. Both were divorced and both had issues and fights all the time. But when you have Christ at the center... of your beings, of your hearts and you confide in each other, that will be the most everlasting and cherished marriage. I met my husband to get away from my controlling mother, and my dad (before he passed) shared with me some nuggets of wisdom about the "Why's" and the "hows" him and my mother stayed married as long as they did. Thankfully I am my fathers daughter (very stubborn and hard-headed) and I wont give up without a fight... but the downside is.. I am very sincere, and kind so I may come off TOO nice sometimes. Which is never my intention but that's how I was raised and my personality.

So anyways, sorry I went off topic for a minute there, but there's my 2-cents.

Thought this would be an interesting idea for a thread. :)

I think Tourist wins.

this reminds me of Suellen in Gone with the Wind.

Scarletts had three husbands and I'll be an old maid! wahhh!!!

Careen, the other sister, in the book runs off to the convent and becomes a nun.

*Lynx sits down with a notepad and pen and prepares to take notes. It's usually better to know the hard parts before you get there.

5. What's the hardest or most difficult thing about marriage?
Dealing with living the rest of your life with someone who is the opposite of your true real nature. On one hand, maybe you have stuff already in common (that’s more than 10 things to have in common) and maybe you have less than 5 in common, but you know in your heart you are MEANT to be with this person for the rest of your life. Marriage should absolutely NOT revolve around looks or being the center of each other’s worlds, you gotta have space to learn about each other and learn new things about each other.

I’m going on 12 years of BEING with my hubs... and married 8 years this fall. I say if you made it PAST that “7 year itch” you’re golden for the rest of your married days. The 1st 7 years is always the hardest to get through... one of the many pieces of advice my dad gave me years ago.

5. What's the hardest or most difficult thing about marriage?
Learning how to communicate effectively. Learning how to listen. Remembering that your spouse is not a mind reader.

1. How old were you when you met your spouse?
I was 17 years old. We met at our first job working at a department store.

2. How long did you date before getting married?
1 year, but that was after I joined the Navy, then came home after 4 years and we met up again.

3. How long have you been married?
30 years

4. What do you think it is that makes marriages successful and long-lasting?
Learn to say "yes dear" whenever she says anything and at least try to be a good listener. Just kidding! :giggle: Love, respect, keep our relationship Christ centered.

I was walking behind this gentleman while going through the "Wonders of Wildlife Museum & Aquarium" in Springfield Missouri a couple of years ago and just had to take a picture of his shirt. Priceless! :giggle:

1. How old were you when you met your spouse? 53

2. How long did you date before getting married? 54 days. I met her for the first time in her country and we got married there.

3. How long have you been married? 5 years

4. What do you think it is that makes marriages successful and long-lasting? Unselfishness and forgiveness.

Ephesians 5 tells us to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit, which is to have the mind of Christ or a consistent Christ consciousness.
No one can do it in the flesh, that's for sure.
