Ananda, I know what you are attempting to do, and it is admirable. However, I have followed VW for over a year now, and for the most part, I have let him ramble and claim to be a prophet. It is when he has attacked the bible that I have jumped into the fray.

You will see that he will not answer the question. For he has already indicated that he does not believe the bible to be divinely inspired.

As Christians, the only thing that we can depend on, as a standard in which to measure our beliefs, is the written word of God. If that word is not divinely inspired, then it has no authority. If it has no authority, then we cannot trust it. At this point, we are then blown around on the seas of doctrine, not knowing what to believe. We must then rely on people like VW, who feels that HIS words are divinely inspired. And if another so called prophet says something else, what then?

Do you see how important this issue is?
Tell me, where or when have I ever said that the bible is not divinely inspired? Can you answer that question?

When have I ever attacked the bible?

Now, an easy one for you; when have I attacked how we view the bible, how we use or misuse the bible, how we use our knowledge of the bible to stay away from God, from entering into His presence, from coming to know Him?

I will answer for you; with almost every word I write.

How important is this issue?

If one believes only the bible, and only the testimony of men, without ever receiving the Spirit of God, without ever coming to know God, they are not saved.

Eternal life is knowing God, who is the One True God, and His Son whom He sent.

I shudder to think of that day, when so many stand before Him, and He tells them that He never knew them. Where will their bible belief be then, and what good has it done them? They might as well have become scribes, or Pharisees.

Again, go back and read my words, have come from my heart, and see if this is not what I have been saying.

Yes!

I don't know how many times I have said that the bible is divinely inspired. I know that it is the written word of God

So, what question am I not answering?
Then reconcile that with these words of yours:

[VW quote] It should be noted that the bible was canonized by man, not by God.[end]

You are saying that the bible was not approved or authorized by God. What other purpose could you have in indicating a contrast between man's canonization and God?

the following is from dictionary.reference.com

I shudder to think of that day, when so many stand before Him, and He tells them that He never knew them.
And so you should shudder.

Take a very close look at this passage, Church.

WHO is it that continually berates and judges the Church saying she is FILTHY, LOATHSOME AND SINFUL, and does it in the very words of Jesus Christ Himself? (while admitting he himself is a sinner).

Look at the entire passge IN CONTEXT: remember WHO Jesus is standing before.
Read this very carefully.

What happens when these people are given help to see their error? do they receive it?
NO. they get IRATE, and wax worse and worse.

What does Jesus say seekers MUST DO? Thrash around forever since "God has MADE THE FIRST MOVE" (presumably this is that little matter of the Lamb of God being made sin for us) and now they must somehow RECIPROCATE and hope they might if they DO the right things, and get "near enough", be possibly reconciled to God?

No. Jesus said he is the Door. Knock and ye WILL find. and you will enter in.

But with all these heretical doctrines and false prophets teaching Law or whatever the flavour of the day is, that road to destruction they keep prophesying to the CHURCH is one they themselves are on.

Matthew 7
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

12Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 1 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: 29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Look above at the context of this passage - FALSE PROPHETS!...and wonder of wonders, look what they say to HIM in that DAY:

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

That dreadful reply means He NEVER, EVER KNEW THEM.

Not that He did and they strayed, or that they were "sinners" and got angry and ditched them for it as this prophet claims over and over.

It says JESUS NEVER approved of them, they were NEVER SAVED. He NEVER KNEW THEM.

How many charismatic cultists are going to hear these words on that Day because the simple Gospel message of faith in Jesus Christ and His Finished work was NOT SUFFICIENT for them?

What makes you sad, is that you cannot impose your lies onto people who are immersed in God's word.

We worship in spirit and truth, as much as you CLAIM to. The difference is that we don't claim to be more than we are. Just as Satan and his angels were not content to accept their position in God's creation, you are not content to accept your position, as just another member of Christ's church.

And you know my heart how? Has God spoken to you and told you my secrets?

How does one become a member of this church?

Immersed in His word. How does one do that? What does it look like? What is the fruit of this pastime?

Do you have any idea just how much I do read His word? Of course not.

Well, seems you have some questions to answer.

To be a true prophet you MUST meet the following critiqua according to the BIBLE God's HOLY WORDS:

1. You must believe that the Word of God is complete and the Bible is a sword that can cut through all lies.
2. You MUST have the HOLY SPIRIT
3. YOU must be BLESSED with the gift of prophecy
4. YOu must be able to discern between good and evil spirits (which requires a in depth knowledge of the Holy Bible and WISDOM)
5. Your must have the shield of faith and love needed to be a Modern day prophet or prophetess.

If you fail to meet any of these requirements then you are being speaking out of term. IF you had all these YOU WILL LISTEN WHEN I SPEAK and tell you this:

YOU ARE PLACING STUMBLING BLOCKS BEFORE YOUR BRETHREN. CEASE AND DECEASE if you know where this conversation is going then you will see as I see that it is NOT GOOD and NOT of GOD. Contention and Strife is NEVER of GOD
.

Follow the Apostle Paul's example. He refused to eat meat because his brethren were offended by it. therefore STOP calling yourself a prophet if it OFFENDS your brethren, not because it is WRONG to say so but because it is WRONG to not walk in LOVE.

IS not the TITLE and HONOR that GOD gives you enough when He says "you are my child."?????

The purpose of a modern day prophet or prophetess is NOT to cause contention and arguments it is TO WARN THE CHURCH OF ATTACKS FROM THE ENEMY AND WHEN AND WHERE THEY ARE HAPPENING AND WILL HAPPEN so that the church will be ready.

Good words Ananda. I don't claim to be a prophet, but I have had enough of this argument. VW says things, then when he is called to task for them, he denies ever saying them, or that he was misinterpreted. We have been around in these circles too many times. There is nothing to be gained from it.

My only concern is that others will stumble. I have seen more and more in here, people challenging the bible's authority. This all began, at least in my experience, when he started a thread about people idolizing their bibles. I have met a lot of Christians in my day, and I have never yet met one who "idolized" their bible. Most Christians recognize it's authority as representing the authority of God Himself, with no inherent authority on it's own. With all the problems in the world, all of the billions of people who have not heard the good news, all the lost and lonely people with no hope, that this "prophet" should be worried about people reading their bibles too much, is beyond ridiculous. I would think that a true prophet would encourage people to read their bibles. When I am reading my bible, Holy Spirit speaks to my heart, that is what being immersed in the word means VW.

This is my last post on this thread. God bless everyone! (that includes you VW)

I am sorry sister, but these words, while sounding good, are not from the Spirit.

Discernment is a gift of the Spirit. One can read the bible all day every day and never have discernment.

Contention is a fact of life whenever the truth is presented against lies.

Even Jesus faced contention, and He did not run away from it either.

Am I causing the contention, or is it the people who are afraid to enter into God's presence, who make excuses for themselves, and attack anyone who does not believe as they do.

I have in no way attacked these men.

I have attacked the lies that they believe and lead others to believe.

Truth will in the end prevail, because God will expose and destroy all lies, and all enemies will be placed under His feet.

See, again, you misrepresent what I have said. Where have I ever written that we are not to read our bibles? Where do you get these ideas?

We are to live in Jesus. Live in, immersed in, same thing.

I am glad that the Spirit speaks to you when you read the bible. He does the same when I read. I am humbled every time He reveals Himself to me through scripture.

I have always been unhappy that we could not see eye to eye, so to speak. But I know that you have never even once tried to understand what I have been saying. The reason is that it makes so many things you have placed your trust in to be untrustworthy. The main one of these is our ability to understand God's word with our reason.

I take comfort in the knowledge that you do believe in Jesus, that you do confess Him as your Lord. I pray that He make Himself known to you.

In Christ

Matthew 5:19-20(New King James Version)

19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven

Matthew 15:11-14 (New King James Version)

11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”
12 Then His disciples came and said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”
13 But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. 14 Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”

I've been nice, I've been patient, now I will just be BRUTALLY HONEST. since the nice tactics don't work.

1. if your think they are not LEADING people on the WRONG path, THEN DO AS JESUS COMMANDS AND LET THEM ALONE! (though NO ONE should LEAD anyone. they should ALL allow the HOLY SPIRIT to do the leading but anyways) or if they are TELLING LIES, LEAVE THEM IN GOD"S HANDS

2. YOU are BLINDING YOURSELF to any sort of correction God may send your way. unless you think you are as PERFECT as JESUS then you should READ your Bible for God will make perfect every work, but NOT if you do not LISTEN to HIS correction. So are you a REAL SON of God or just an illegalimate one? FOR GOD CHASTENS HIS CHILDREN, for we are NOT perfect.

Hebrews 12:3-11 (New King James Version)

The Discipline of God

3 For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. 4 You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin. 5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:

“ My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
6 For whom the LORD loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.”[a]

7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? 8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. 9 Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? 10 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. 11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

.

NOTE THE WORD PEACEABLE???

where in the BIBLE does JESUS Tell you to ARGUE with darkness???

HE SAYS REBUKE IT USING THE HOLY SCRIPTURES!

With all the sacredness that God has put in me through grace, 'You are full of horse manure'. You are so self deceived and deluded that you can't even keep tract of your own words. God has a volume of books and every word we speak is written down, even 'horse manure' and that includes all yours words and all words that have come from LBG's mouth as well. I will leave you to yourself and the delusion you live in, but you mark it down, we will all give an account of every single word, especially those we claim have come from God. Our words have a greater effect in eternity then any of our personal sins that we have committed.

So how would a person who has had sacredness put in them through grace act?

By telling people they are full of horse manure?

By being rude and offensive to their fellow Christians?

To condemn peoiple who stand on the Bible?

To seek the praise of man before the praise of God?

By continually questioning the fruit and works your fellow Christians are producing?

To continually make offensive remarks concerning people to others?

You are one deluded person Red, and I doubt many are fooled.

In my opinion you are a first rate hypocrite

And as you included me in the above post I am entitled to reply to it

We are human and understand certain terms to have certain meanings and I do think is appropriate in this situation. You have been saying these kind of things about me for some time now and even much worse. I am unaffected and have no respect for anything you have to say. You are deluded, your insecure and you belittle others when ever it suits you and your emotions. You have not changed and I have no fellowship with you. The next time that you belittle another member of God's body I promise you that I will be on you as quick as flies are on 'horse manure'.

“ My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
6 For whom the LORD loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.”[a]

My my.

God sent you to chasten me did He?

I am not arguing with darkness, I am arguing against darkness.

I do not accept your authority, and I am terribly sorry that you felt that you had to take this stance.

Let every person be a liar, yet God is true. And truth comes from the Spirit of truth.

I suspected that this would be the outcome, but prayed that it would not come to this.

I have wronged you in what way?

I have sinned against you in what way?

When have I lied against you? Or attacked you personally? Or called you a liar or a heretic or even an antichrist.

I have, one time, rebuked you in the name of Jesus, although I did not wish to.

Our sister tried to end this conflict, not knowing that the conflict has always been taking place. This conflict was the same one that caused Cain to slay Able. This is the conflict that lead to the death of the prophets, and Steven, and even Jesus. He placed Himself right in the middle of this conflict, and let it take Him to His death, without answer to those who accused Him.

But He did not agree with them, not did He remain silent when they falsely accused Him before the people. He only became silent when it was time for Him to offer Himself up for us. but just a few days before, He rebuked the enemies in this conflict, beginning with those who shut off the kingdom of heaven from men; for they do not enter themselves, nor do they allow those who are entering to go in.

For the kingdom is here, right now. Jesus has ascended on high, and He has asked and the Father has sent the Spirit of God to dwell in us. This is the manifestation of the kingdom, and by the Spirit Jesus dwells in us, and Jesus dwelling in us is our hope of glory.

From the above, I can only say that we must be close to the last days. For Jesus has spoken saying: And at that time, many will fall away and will deliver up one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise, and will mislead many. And because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end, he shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come.

The gospel of the kingdom. When one understands that the gospel of peace will not be preached to the whole world, but rather the gospel of the kingdom, then their perspective will be changed.

In Christ,

In Christ,
I suppose you and LBG want to use me as a poster boy for all that's wrong with the church that you and he want nothing to do with. Go right ahead and have fun doing it. Keep prophesying against the church and show your spiritual supremacy that no one else understands. Perhaps you can pick up a few others in the process. Both of you are are nothing but great big phonies and I say that without hesitation. I have met others just like yourself and you make me sick to my stomach to the point of spitting you out of my mouth. Oh my God, where did that come from?

One of you is so obsessed with combating the law with others that you have forgotten the grace of God and the other is so obsessed with his own spirit that he has removed himself away from the objectivity of God's word. Your not spiritual giants, your spiritual flunkies and you have no fruit. So keep parading yourself as you do like stiffnecked peacocks and see who else you can persuade with your phony rhetoric. If you could see my countenance it is angry but in my heart I have joy unspeakable with a peace way beyond your understanding. You will interpret this post in the natural disposition of a morally adjusted man with your relevant righteousness and religious conscience and try to convince others with every fiber of your being that you are the spiritual ones.
