Hey everyone! Hope you’re having a fabulous day! With everything going on, (the churches shut down because of the virus), I’m feeling a tad bit disconnected from God. I have been quite a bit busier (kids) and have not had much time for myself and God. I am missing my church family (they do not have an online service). And I am just having trouble getting back on the right path. I have the Bible app and like to listen to the Bible while I’m cooking or cleaning but it just does not feel the same. Anyone feeling the same? Or is it just me?

I don't think it's just you, but I don't happen to share that particular struggle. My church is doing online services, and I'm an introvert anyway, so the isolation isn't a big problem. I talk to God throughout the day, and have done so for many years, so the only real change is a reduced amount of face-to-face in-person interaction. I suspect at least part of what you're feeling is the absence of fellowship with other adult believers.

You might want to memorize Psalm 139 and recite it when you feel disconnected. Invite God into your day; ask Him to remind you of His presence. He will never leave you nor forsake you. :)

Yep. Definitely. I redoubled my bible studies and am now journaling while doing so. Very satisfying. Also attempting verse memorization which is something new...and extremely tough lol.

I hear you and you are not alone. The entire world has hit a pause button while we face an unseen enemy. I feel like it is more of a disconnect with myself, but like Dino, I am a bit of an introvert so staying home is very comfortable for me. I love being able to attend pre service prayer and service online. One thing that I did read, and maybe it might help perspective-wise, is that "the church is not shut, it has been deployed."
The church was not meant to have its primary focus on what we get but on what we give up in worship to God. Maybe some of that has lulled us into thinking that attending a group function can substitute for a personal relationship with God. Now might even be a great opportunity to say, "God I am here. It is just you and me today. Help me to listen. Help me to be aware of you in a way I haven't when I was distracted. I don't want to prattle away at you and pretend that that is a relationship. Thank you for paring away everything that keeps me from sitting quietly at your feet.
Lord I don't know how to feel. I have no idea what to expect. I ask you to walk alongside me and help me not to neglect you but to be a blessing to you as well. Lord you are my heart and my hope. Thank you."

Definitely not just you. Many of us are struggling to create new routines.

I am glad that I attend a Lutheran Church, each week they on an individual basis still offer communion. This helps to keep connected. To see the pastor talk about scripture, pray together, and partake in the body and blood of the sacrifice of our Lord.

I hope this helps.

Have you expressed these thoughts and feelings to your husband? He is the leader and final authority of the household and thus the primary one responsible for spiritually feeding his family (1Co 14:35; Eph 6:4).

Thanks for being brave enough to share. You feel those feelings but it's not the truth. God is not further away during this time neither are you not disconnected from Him.
I understand being around other believers is encouraging and uplifting but we also need to learn to be content with ourselves just with Him and no one else.
Moving past how we feel and into faith, believing regardless how to things look and feel is part of maturing.

"Let us be reminded, it shall be ones own harmony with the Holy Spirit.
People, places or things shall not be a substitute for knowing of the Holy Spirit,
within ones own self, and to have a spiritual 'awareness' of God's 'presence',
within ones own self. Let us be reminded of the significance of 'Christ In Us'.
I hope you become more connected with the Holy Spirit."

JOHN 14:27.
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

ISA. 12:12.
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for The LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song;
He also is become my salvation.

You couldn't have said it any better. Thanks for sharing your perspective. I am learning how to worship in a different manner than I had before which I admit was routine and going through the motions in alot of respects. It's like adage that you don't realize what you have until it's gone. I have had to really trust more in my prayer life and is more introspective without having the actual Church building surround me. We need to prayer for one another and for good to overcome evil and give God the glory he deserves by being patient and being an example for others to see the love of Christ in ourselves.

i started a bible study with a friend so we are doing it once a week or so on facetime.
others have started prayer zoom meetings.
Sometimes its hard to get into a routine, but try to set some time aside for God...mornings before breakfast is a good time for me just to read the Bible or journal or go on CC and be with other fellow believers, someone will be posting scripture that will speak to you.

If you dont have a journal or notebook to write in, go find one and write down prayers or verses for each day, if you get in the regular habit you will soon fill up your book, and then you can go back and read it a year later and see how far you are in your walk.

How ironic, you are disconnected from God in a period where you have time to work on it.
