Me and my husband Adopting

Hello @Holgybogly, first off, since I see that you are still pretty new around here, welcome to CChat :)

My wife and I adopted our son through a local adoption agency, but we also considered an international adoption from either China, Russia or South Korea. That was 21 years ago, and I'm sure that many things have changed about the process since then, but you should be able to find both kinds of adoption agencies, and the help that you are looking for, by doing a search on the Internet.

BTW, you said that you and your "husband" want to adopt, but your profile page says that you are "not married" :unsure:

Unfortunately, not everyone who produces a child makes a good parent, or is able/willing to raise the offspring they produce.

I am adopted.

My "real" mother and father are the people who took me into their home and have raised me. Now that they are getting older, my prayer is that I will be able return their love and look after them through whatever they may need for the rest of the time God has them here.

To the original poster -- I'm hoping you are sincere in your post... I was adopted a very long time ago, so I'm not sure if this is still the case, but it used to be that adoptions within the USA took about 5-7 years, and international adoptions, about 2-5. However, we had friends in a former church who were able to adopt a child from the USA within a few years, but the child has special needs because the mother was on drugs during the pregnancy.

I would suggest contacting local adoption agencies for more information as a place to start. If you are interested in international adoption, you might want to try Holt International Children's Services -- I've had affiliations with this organization my whole life and wholeheartedly believe in their work.

Please keep us posted, and God bless you for considering adoption as a possible option.

Interesting.

I know we have cases here of people sharing accounts... I had assumed it was a husband and wife that was using the same name, but I appreciate the info.

Hmm... Maybe we have some loving, Christian, heterosexual couples out there who are thinking of adopting and might be helped by this thread anyway. :)

However, this person was trolling on another thread that is why I had my suspicions

try fos-adopting as these children desperately need good homes.
There is less bureucracy involved if its in your own country. It wont always be easy but if you provide a good home for a child they wont want to run away. The important thing is they are kept safe as children are so vulnerable to being abused if they are fostered from place to place. They need that security that their mum and dad will always be there and looking out for them.
 
fos-adopting is the same as adopting its just with fos-adopting the child may be older than new born, and I think its up to the child if they want to be adopted as well. I know some people make their child a ward of the state, but if the parents dont want to give up their child at all they cant be adopted.

i do know that its tehnically free, you dont have to pay huge sums of money to the agency.
 
children who are wards of the state are free to be adopted at any time. I am sure they all long to be adopted like pet strays. The sad thing is so many are left behind.

This would require me to do a scientific meta analysis of the available data, of which there is very little and which I do not have time for.... but maybe you should since you are the one that has to make the decision.
