C.S.Lewis's wardrobe made way for Narnia ... To what incredible place, did you know, would you like your wardrobe to make way? It doesn't matter if this is a place that you stayed in your past, maybe in childhood, or if it is a simple place where you just feel at peace, or maybe that place is someone who makes you feel alive wherever you are, maybe it is one moment when you wouldn't mind living for eternity ... I hope your words will transport me to this place for a moment. So take my hand and let's go into the wardrobe.

Well I didn't have a wardrobe as a kid. But I did have a swingset that we could fly to cartoon land where all our favorite cartoon characters finally got into the situation they couldn't get out of without us coming to rescue them (they did that a lot in cartoon land) and usually stuff blew up and we had these guns that shot really cool capsules / pellets and not only did you have ones that hurt the bad guys, but you had the food ones that you shot and they popped open and gave everyone peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or the transport one to take you back to the capsule buying shop when you needed to buy more.

And then one summer we tried to dig a volcano in the back yard (apparently creating a weak spot in the earth's crust requires more than removing a couple feet of dirt) but apparently if you have no hope of succeeding the adults don't mind that you're trying to bring firey death and destruction on the whole neighborhood.

It was amazing. I had a smile on my face while reading ... thanks for sharing ❤

I was 8 years old and Davy B was 7 and we were born on the same day a year apart. We were best friends before BFF was invented and on that warm morning in June we were playing in a dirt pile when both our lives changed forever, I guess akin to stepping in a magic wardrobe.

My house shared a driveway with another house owned by the Woodburn's; their house trailed off the right and ours to the left. and while me and Davy were moving dirt with our Tonka heavy equipment, a Tennessee Department of Corrections bus slowed down on the highway out front and turned onto our driveway. Davy B had a bad speech stuttder and said "Wh wh whwhwhat are ttthey ddoing?" I didn't have an answer as the bus rolled by my house and off the end of the driveway to the edge of the woods behind our house. Right behind it was another truck and trailer

Two uniformed police got off the bus followed by about a dozen prison inmates all dressed in white. They all huddled around the truck and trailer and gathered up all kinds of hand tools when one of the uniformed policemen walked over to where me and Davy B were "working". He kept getting bigger with every step and his sunglasses hid any expression on his face. He had a pith helmet on slung low over his forehead and an already well tanned face and hands. "Hiya boys" he said. The man seemed 8 feet tall. His greeting was lighthearted but his general demeanor never really pulled off a friendly tone. Davy B smartly said nothing. He was good at hiding his speech impediment when necessary. I asked what they were doing. The policeman cocked his head a little like he was confused and said "Why we're cutting a new road son".

(I'll finish this story in a bit)

Well, I wouldn't approve the wardrobe in this scene, but these Caribbean? gals are having fun at the beach, and enjoying some cool, refreshing water, and some innocent fun. Christian gals should definitely dress more conservative in public, but, if this was private, it is very artistic, beautiful, and a good way to enjoy the freedom to be young and beautiful, and carry more attire in your beach bag for a public walk on the beach. I'm glad to be heterosexual, (this means I have always been attracted to ladies, and a gentleman) and I'm glad to have the discipline to have public beach showered with women in beach attire without being distracted. Not quite the same as this scene, but more ordinary clothing. To be honest, this beach attire is going too far.
But to say, "black is beautiful," would be an understatement here..

How could you be so disrespectful to the topic I proposed?

This is incredibly inappropriate on A Christian chat site. It exploits these topless, butt exposed women. Do not post these sorts of pictures.

I enter the wardrobe and arrive at...

I quickly exit the wardrobe and call the exterminator!

Blacklily, sorry about this. In a forum full of random people from around the world, sometimes this kind of thing will happen. Fortunately we have moderators for just such occasions, and as soon as one of them checks up on the forum I'm sure this will be taken care of.

It is rather early in the day here in the USA though, so it might be a few hours. Or it might be a few minutes, depending on who is or is not awake yet.

@HeraldtheNews --

I've seen a few of your posts... Could you please explain why you "wouldn't approve of the wardrobe" in the original post, but yet somehow see nothing wrong with this picture you posted? You've done the same thing in other places around the forum as well -- criticizing others over completely innocuous things, yet going on and on about how you scour the internet for pictures of women such as this because you see them as being "artistic."

There was also another user who had an avatar of hands covered in different colors of paint -- and you posted that this avatar, in your opinion, was completely inappropriate and that you were reporting that member because, in your opinion, that person did not belong on the site.

And yet these are the pictures you choose to post. Could you please explain your logic here? I'd honestly be curious to know your thought process and how you justify this for yourself.

@BlackLily -- MY GOODNESS have you had a rough entry into the forum! Please don't give up and please don't let this discourage you.

There are some posts you just have to say a prayer over and just keep on being yourself. This thread is wonderfully creative -- please don't let this post stop you.

Keep talking to us -- many of us are enjoying your posts and looking forward to getting to know you. :)

Yes, please don't get spooked by that one post Blacklily. This thread seems like a great idea. When things settle down in here I plan to post a few trips through the cabinet. (I always thought C. S. Lewis should have used a kitchen cabinet instead of a wardrobe... have you ever plowed through a kitchen cabinet full of containers and small cooking appliances? I don't think there even IS a back wall in those things, just endless junk.)

Ah, it appears the moderator is mopping up the spill. Thank you moderator, whichever one is tending to this matter.

Blacklily we can continue the trip down memory lane... or through the wardrobe, whichever... though I still think the trip through the kitchen cabinet would be more mysterious.

So follow me as we crawl through the kitchen cabinet and come out... in the front yard of the house where I grew up, on an early summer evening. I was never ambitious or reckless as a child, but I did quietly investigate a few things in the world I found myself in, and this evening I was investigating an empty 55-gallon metal drum that my father for some reason had out in the front yard. I found out I could put it on its side, stand on it and roll the drum across the yard by walking on it. I had some little fun that night, doing something totally pointless, but I was impressed that I could do it.

Let's crawl through the kitchen cabinet again and find... The Big Spring.

bsgs.jpg bsg.jpg

That's the view from two opposite angles - the first is looking south, second facing north. There's a library to the left in the top picture, to the right in the bottom picture.

The important thing though, is that tree. See the one to the left of the bridge in the bottom picture? That was a good tree to sit in. On nice days I would walk home from school and my path took me right across that stream, and sometimes I would sit in that tree and read a book for a while.

What troubles me is, I haven't been there in a few years and that top picture I found on the internet shows the tree missing. I am... concerned.

In my imagination I tried to balance myself on the gallon and it really was a lot of fun ... I used to balance myself on a little wall that was in my grandmother's yard, but your gallon was more fun ... thanks for inviting me to the kitchen cabinet. 😁🙏🏾
