where’s the cross in the OT? Not the snake on a pole....or Isaac being offered...no cross. Shadows and types, yes, but only after the cross can we read the cross into those types. But at the time, Israel had no idea of the future cross.
And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree:
You must not leave the body hanging on the pole overnight. Be sure to bury it that same day, because anyone who is hung on a pole is under God’s curse.
Deuteronomy 21:22-23

KJV

Yep, with your view regarding omniscience and free will, I can also understand how you can believe that the gospel of grace contained in 1 Cor 15:1-4, must have also been preached even during the OT.

So that is another reason why covenant theology is such a popular interpretive framework held by so many Christians.
Are you stating that God is not omniscient?

Yes, a type, but not one was looking forward to the cross of Christ. We would never see the cross in this passage if the cross never occurred. Now that the cross has occurred, we can look back and read the cross into that passage.

The passage was there because the cross was going to occur.

not one was looking forward to the cross of Christ
And this would be a huge assumption.

I am not going to argue this idiotic line of thought with you again.....the bible is clear....so was Jesus.....the cross is seen and testified to BEFORE Jesus was lifted....just because your relgion prevents you from Acknowledging this truth does not make it true nonetheless!!

Yet the Bible calls it a mystery. If Satan would have known about the cross, he never would have initiated it. It had to be kept hidden until afterwards.

And because it was hidden to the whole world, not just the Jews, you conclude that it (the cross) was not for the Jews? Wouldn't that imply that the cross wasn't for anyone since no one new about it (including the Jews)?

Your reasoning makes no sense.

For the Jews first...never implied otherwise

Satan initiated the cross?
i believe so...Satan is the prince of this world

1 Corinthians 3
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

I couldn't agree with you more. In my view people think it is a debate, and to be fair I don't have the time or the will to fight with people over the word of God. I can't convince them, only Ruach can.

There are more than 60 000 Christian denominations in the world, so more than likely you will find one of your "friends" at the end of a nasty reply, sooner rather than later.

God bless my friend.

I got NEWS FOR YOU, Most of MAINLINE Christianity does agree on the Main Core of Christian Theology.

Only people from Border Line Groups and Psuedo Christian Cults, DISAGREE Vehemently.

I do no see how this verse supports the idea that Satan initiated the cross?
