I don't agree with this :) Yeshua was from Nazareth and was seen as a Nazarene.

The Nazarite vow (as was taken by Samson) was clear that you couldn't eat grapes, come close to the skin of grapes or come close to wine or a grapevine (Samson was in contradiction of this :) ). They also were not supposed to cut their hair for the time they did the vow, so the vow was usually taken for a period of time if one would take it.

The two are not the same :)

God bless brother
Yes, I agree seen as a Nazarene of Nazareth .It does not say he took the vow .I was thinking if it was a long as some depict it is a possibility he was under that law .

The bible shows Paul it would appear finishing it the vow

Acts 18:18King James Version And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.

Blue represents Heaven. But the prayer shawl and fringes were given to the children of Israel to remind them to obey the Law of Moses. Christians are under the Law of Christ. BIG DIFFERENCE.
I have not looked at it in that way .I think blue represents the temporal the things of this world . Which could include the Sky under the Sun.

In some cases it is used to hide what it is covering . Blue surrounding the gold measure of faith. it is used as a parable in that way hiding the unseen understanding

Numbers 4:12 And they shall take all the instruments of ministry, wherewith they minister in the sanctuary, and put them in a cloth of blue, and cover them with a covering of badgers' skins, and shall put them on a bar:

Below the use of blue is to cover the gold .The measure of faith

Numbers 4:5-7 King James Version (KJV) And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron shall come, and his sons, and they shall take down the covering vail, and cover the ark of testimony with it: And shall put thereon the covering of badgers' skins, and shall spread over it a cloth wholly of blue, and shall put in the staves thereof. And upon the table of shewbread they shall spread a cloth of blue, and put thereon the dishes, and the spoons, and the bowls, and covers to cover withal: and the continual bread shall be thereon:

All ceremonial laws utilized the things seen in the ceremonies to reveal beforehand a sufferings Savior .

This includes the veil to represent the him was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: . it was torn to show the first born had come as our sufferings savior fulfilling the sign of circummsion the veil is rent opening the w2ay to the eternal not seen. No flesh found behind the vail in the holy of holiness

Again blueness represents the things seen the temporal .Stripes the hidden or invisible things reckoned as Gold

Proverbs 20:30 The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.

Revelation 21:15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

Revelation 21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

Gold the color that makes rainbows disappear. Purifying our blue hearts within by a work of his faith

We are on a real slippery slope when we try to see religion in something like a prayer shawl. Is it then religious to blow the shofar and call Abba Father into battle? I don’t think so, but it is my opinion :)

God bless my friends
It happens all too easily...this adoring of material objects invented as “an aid” to faith. IF anyone goes to Jerusalem without the tourist “holy land tour guide”, they will see an idolatrous city rivaled only by Rome. Material objects over which people pray and weep
and frankly speaking worship. Prayer items can be bought and all who sell them swear they “help” in praying.

We are anti-semitic because we don’t use fabric over our heads to pray!!!! Talk about personal attacks.
Call it like you see it. Most think because it's old custom it's rebuked by Christ. Many point to the traditions and customs of the Jews that Jesus did away with all....not so.
Jesus the Messiah our Lord our king the creator of heaven and earth celebrated the feasts and went to temple. The message in the gospel is he came to save not condemn .
Now you say "fabric over our heads" I say wear a sombrero if you feel closer to God.
I don't think the op is trying to draw attention to himself any more than I do. But the point was made that it is and was a practice of the Jews now that stirred the pot.
Do you face east when you pray? On your knees? Eyes closed or open? Hands raised or down. Give me a break .

I think it should be obvious to all that anything can be abused or used with wrong intention. WE humans are experts at using even good things excessively. But we can't throw out every outward show of faith because it MIGHT be abused by some people at some times.

A lot of Christians are baptised publicly. Are they all arrogantly showing off their perceived superiority to those who want to do it in private? Or are they joyfully proclaiming in a mild ritual, that they have committed themselves to Jesus and want to receive the Holy spirit?

I see a lot of people (especially women) love to go to church with giant bibles bound in special emblazoned, colorful covers with sets of highlighter pens and notepads. Are they just showing off? Or do they really just love the Bible?
I would agree but only God can see into the heart of all mankind and perform His good works with them .

Self edification. A gold star for going to church or one for bringing the Bible ,or perhaps make a noise and fall backwards as a gold star is not walking by faith

Self edification, look I did it, is not a doctrine of God. He is our living hope who moves us to continue walking by faith (the unseen eternal) .The promises of a new incorruptible body (Hebrew 11:38) to replace this body of death that will return to the dust .

Our responsibility to preach the gospel. Preaching can be destroyed when many gather together just like with two or three. The women ( Deborah's ) being excited that they could participate having been eliminated from participating previously in the ceremonies before the reformation .

Rather than following the procedure for the new ceremonial law. A wedding invitation and supper revealed to the whole world that affects all nations, men and woman prophets. Some covered their God given representative glory "hair" adding to it things made with human hands. gold silver etc. .They adorned their hair which should have been covered with a sackcloth .In the end o express the only glory to be seen in a gathering as a sign to the world is the hidden glory represented by the things "the ceremony" Some added glory to the glory of the hair. Mocking God.

There were some families that did not have food when they saw gold silver pearls the desire to consume the hair increased. "scalp her ".

Galatians 5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

The goal of the devil's pride kill them all.

In that way women or men must be silent when focusing on the unseen things of faith when gathering together .It is not a sign unto us .That would be the same error some Jews made. Glorying in the flesh of each other consuming one another as if we did walk by sight. .Flesh and blood against flesh and blood.

If either prophet, male or female have things to add .They the two or three should wait to till they get home and have a Bible study.

Two or three or two or thee billion does not change the power . Following the law 1 Corinthians 11, makes it easier on the elders . A answer to their prayer as well as those not in leadership in that way .

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

I remember seeing dirt from Fatima the miracle of the Sun blinded by the light was offered free with Sacred Holy Water blessed the the corrupted hands of what they call venerable men.

When a person does use a object seen to move them beleive. They are communing the face as a idol image called in the Bible a workers with a familiar spirit .Or called a teraphim a family idol called "legion" . . .One false god that appears according to the image in hand . (necromancy. ) Catholics call them patron saints .Their legion is over 3500 and rising.

Rachel hid her teraphim from her father.

Having a image of a loved one is one thing that can comfort as God reminds of the blessings that come from them . But to use them to put a face of the legion . Be careful ! And remember blue represents the temporal .Gold the unseen faith

Look up to see the invisible one. Mix it with what you see ahead .

perhaps for connection and comfort, especially if a
loved one or friend gave it as a gift of Love...

the whole world can be one's 'closet', garee,
it depends on the moment...

Well, Jesus said some would have their prayers be heard and some would not. It would behoove us to know which kind have their prayers answered and which are refused. From God's point of view, there is a right and wrong when it come to prayer, apparently. The wrong ways do not get their prayers answered. Makes a difference.
A prayer shawl is not an object with magic, it is to be used. It's use is to give a private place that closes out the world so you can concentrate on the Lord, it helps with listening. It isn't something to magically get a better answer from the Lord, except our lives improve as they are closer to the Lord and if you listen well it helps. If it is seen as something magical, a beautiful piece of clothing, a material thing, or any of these strange ideas it is useless.

Jesus-Yeshua is foretold to be The Branch, in Hebrew that would be Nazar. Being from Nazareth He definitely fulfilled this by being called a Nazar.

As for wearing a prayer shawl, is this some oral tradition or are the people of Yeshua instructed to wear one___ It seems, again, to me it is announcing a holier-than-though self esteem.

The danger is there as well as the dependency on a material object in order to concentrate. No one in the bible is recorded to have or use a prayer shawl. One can come to a point where cannot even talk to God without it, I suppose.

My perception is, Adam and Eve covered as they were ashamed of there nudity/sin. As Jesus died on the cross for forgiveness of those sins, no garment will glorify you or be of much significance. I and many others I know of, need no garments at all to worship God/Jesus. I also assume the mention of white robes etc in the bible is to appease mankind and help him in his understanding, considering how nudity has been perceived for so long.

It would have to speak of Christ's righteous deeds which is shown by the good works he works in us .Not by a outward garment And as the better things that accompany salvation he promises us he will not forget the good works he works in us that we have offered the towards his name . We walk by faith not after the things seen A Shaw could be used like a closet, a secrets place . But dark places or things seen themselves provide no understanding.

Ceremonial Shawls (shadows) used as a closet do not bring us closer and neither do they cause a distance

I know this theology but the Bible doesn’t say that. It says the righteous deeds of the saints. Does not say they are Jesus’ righteous deeds.

Bible verse please?
We walk by faith not after the things seen A Shaw could be used like a closet, a secrets place . But dark places or things seen themselves provide no understanding.
Like I said, if one can’t talk to God without it, there’s a problem.
Ceremonial Shawls (shadows) used as a closet do not bring us closer and neither do they cause a distance
Depends regarding the latter.

The White robes are given the saints by our Father.
For what reason? The righteous deeds done by those saints. Who made or gave them is immaterial. Why is the important question.

Because this is a Bible discussion, I give credit to others to know our heavenly garments are the works given us here in this age by our Father.

He gives us works to do but it’s entirely up to us if we choose to do them or not. That is the point.
