I've heard great arguments for both. What do you say?
Jesus said that He goes away to prepare a place for the saints that where He is at they may also be there.
Jesus went away from the earth to prepare a place so that is where the saints shall be forever, so this earth will pass away.
All sin must be purged with fire which the heavens shall melt with fervent heat, and the elements dissolved, for they were tainted with sin by the rebellion of the fallen angels.
The earth shall be burned up and all the works of it for it has been tainted with sin from people.
The Bible says the wicked shall go in to the lower parts of the earth.
Jesus went to the lower parts of the earth, and has the keys of death and hell for He conquered them..
The Bible says at the end of the millennial reign that death and hell were cast in to the lake of fire, so the earth shall be cast in to the lake of fire and be burned up.
God said He creates a new heaven, and a new earth, and the former shall not be remembered, nor come to mind for it is associated with sin and rebellion.
The first heaven and earth were passed away, and there was no more sea, and the former things are passed away, and all things become new.
The Bible says the earth and heaven fled away from the face of Jesus, and there was no place found for them.
The new earth, and new heaven is a place wherein dwells righteousness, a place where sin has never been, and sin will never be.
After the millennial reign of Christ on earth the saints will go to the new heaven, and new earth, the New Jerusalem, and the angels and saints will remember nothing prior to that but feel they have always been there, and nowhere else.
There will be a millennial reign of Christ on earth.
Jesus said not one jot or tittle shall in no wise pass from the law until all is fulfilled, and not only did Jesus have to be sinless, but He also had to fulfill all the roles of Israel government, and religious wise.
But He has not fulfilled the role of perfect King on earth, and it must be done on earth.
So Jesus has to rule on earth to fulfill the role of perfect King, and then at the end of the millennial reign the law is fulfilled, and the saints will go to the New Jerusalem.
Which during the millennial reign the LORD shall be king over all the earth, and in that day there shall be one LORD, and His name one, which means the heathen that God spared at the battle of Armageddon will not acknowledge any religious figure, or god, but Jesus.
Which the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the LORD, and Jesus will rule with a rod of iron for it will only be His way, and the people will not fight with each other, and the animals will not fight with each other, and be plant eaters, and people and animals will not fear each other, and a little child can lead the most ferocious beast on earth now, and that animal will have no desire to hurt the child.
And the heathen have to go up year after year to Jerusalem to worship the LORD, and keep the feast of tabernacles.
So how do people not see it will be a physical reign on earth.
The earth cannot be done over for it is physical and tainted with sin so it must pass away.
Rev 10:5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
Rev 10:6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein,
that there should be time no longer.
Time is a creation like the physical creation is a creation.
Time is not a universal principle but only refers to this creation.
Before this creation there was no time, and after this creation there is no time, for everything goes on the same with nothing scheduled.
Time is a measuring tool to measure events, and things scheduled, and the sun is the measuring tool for the sun going down, coming back up, and going back down, counts a day.
