One does not need to necessarily prove they did not know, what needs to be proven is one did know.
No one has to prove their innocence (although they do) the burden of proof is on the prosecution... they must have sufficient evidence to prove intent and knowledge.

450 Every person is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term of not more than 14 years who, without lawful justification or excuse,

- (b) has in their custody or possession counterfeit money; or
- (c) introduces counterfeit money into Canada.
