Yes there is DorothyMae.

Romans 8:16

The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
Now if we are children, then we are heirs— heirs of God and co- heirs with Christ,if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

I am a child of God....biblical......I had personal revelation from God...he then led me to this scripture.

So you deny this scripture do you,DorothyMae?

Did God not testify to your spirit that you were his child?

If he didn’t...then of course you would have difficulty understanding it.

But there it is above......for all to see....and it’s God’s Word!....now try and explain it away...good luck on that one!
Do you share in his sufferings? If so, how.

It says IF we share in his sufferings. That’s a conditional promise meaning we must DO something for our part. OSAS always skips the conditions required to receive the promise.

.This, by the way, is not what you said God said. You are changing your story.

the more awake and aware you are the more it can bring to your attention. :)
He shows me what He chooses and while it might not be everything, it’s everything He wants at that point in time. His standards, btw, are a lot higher than mine, I find.

No

god offers all men,

only the people who humble themselves and become poor in spirit (spiritually bankrupt) will recieve it

the tax collector was justified because he called out in faith

the pharisee is rejected because he did not believe

it's our conscience that helps us believe - that we are sinners. it is something we have i guess - - that God created in us, a human thing you know? of course we were each given different dna by God though, and maybe that makes alot of the difference.

have you heard the quote:

Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened.

Sir Winston Churchill
British politician (1874 - 1965)

they don't stop and listen very long, to think, to ponder, to decide to change their actions, or to at least wish to, to wish to remember it always -- whatever it was they stumbled over.

Well if your salvation is based on your asking for forgiveness for every sin then you would have to know every single sin.

I suppose the idea that the Holy Spirit speaks through the Bible to us is not a pa

Fine JR, you got a biblical testimony from “god” who used no bible verse cause there isn’t one.

I've heard certain people in the past interpret 1 John 1:9 in such a way to imply that we must "confess each sin that we commit as we commit them" (keep a specific inventory) as an "additional requirement" to "remain cleansed" and if we forget a sin we are toast! o_O Good luck remembering and reciting every single sin!

Do you honestly think I would share that with you......I have not changed my story I posted more scripture that is all.....
You talk about others on here....you must be the most proudest person on this thread and you have the cheek to criticise others.

My salvation is not based on that at all. My ability to hear His voice clearly is based on that. Blessed are the pure (cleansed) in heart for they shall see (perceive) God. He searches me so my heart can again be clean.

I applied the criteria in the verse. That is all. OSAS ignores ALL criteria.

You might not (until you need a miracle) but the world needs signs and wonders to believe.

Perhaps those He chooses are for this purpose?

Are you one?
As Paul would also explain later, the Jews require a sign (1 Corinthians 1:22)

But for us Gentiles, his instructions to us is to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7)

They will find a myriad of ways to insert themselves into their salvation... right up to what is completely impossible.

The scripture tells us not to quench the Holy Spirit. If we refuse to confess and repent when He convicts us of sin, we are quenching Him and bit by bit, the conscience becomes hardened. Good luck knowing God’s will with a seared conscience. The only recourse is man theology assuring you of what you want to hear when you’ve rendered yourself deaf to Him.

Re: Give verses to substantiate this claim of faith by free will. Note: Not verses saying what we must do to be saved. We all know we must believe. BUT VERSES TELLING US WHY WE BELIEVE. Show just ONE verse saying faith is via your FREE WILL.

As usual, you did not answer my question. There is no answer. There are NO VERSES saying faith is via your FREE WILL. Plenty of verses saying GOD gives one faith.

Your definition of FAITH need modification IMO: Faith means more than just trust. It also have to have CONTENT to be trusted, ACCENT to the CONTENT being true and also TRUST.

You don't understand how it works IMO. Trust is dependent on one's will always. The pertinent question is: WHAT DETERMINES MY WILL; not "show me where trust is forced on someone. Trust is NOT forced on anyone. This is how it works IMO.
1) I was born a sinner (Psalm 51:5)
2) I did not want to trust God, in fact I COULD NOT trust God (John 3:20, Rom. 3:10-18; Rom. 7:18, Rom. 8:7, etc.etc.etc) My will could not be changed by me
3) God changed my will (John 1:12-13, Phil. 1:29, Rom. 3:12, etc. etc. etc.). He gave me faith.
4) Now I TRUST as my will has changed and I obey (imperfectly) because I trust
So you could not show one instance of faith is forced on someone against their will. Of course I understand because you can’t

As for faith being free will. I do not have to show verses that say it word for word. We chose to trust or not trust people every day it is not an unknown subject. Even in the OT are not the words (chose this day who you will follow) spoken? Do we believe outside our will if we do is this not forced belief and as such how can that be faith at all

Again I ask. Show one instance where anyone chose to trust anyone else outside of free will.
