I want to say that most of all right now I want someone to talk to on a daily basis. I want a witness to my life, support and encouragement that goes both ways. I’m sensitive, nurturing, kind and a lifetime learner.

Howdy Loretta, 40, new author, ready to date. I'm Lynx, 41, old singer, loving the single life.

This forum is more for hanging out and talking than finding true love. Some of our members HAVE paired off... but that happened naturally as they talked to other people in the forum. I have never seen anybody come to this forum looking for a date and find one.

Basically what I'm saying is, start making comments in various conversations around here. The more we get to know you (and you get to know us) by reading comments, the better your chances are.

Or maybe you'll find out you like being single after all. One never knows what might happen.

Oh yeah, and welcome to the forum.

I wish you well in the endeavor of dating. There is nothing wrong with a desire to have that special one to talk to everyday, that will support and encourage you as you do the same to him. Glad to have you as part of our community. Welcome to CC.

I am enjoying life. I happen to be single, so it is what I am enjoying.

If I were married, I would probably enjoy that too.

Actually there IS one thing I should mention about being single, because it is a benefit so often overlooked. I love my Single Guy cluttered vehicle. Nobody nags me to clean it up, clean it out or even wash the outside of it. I can throw junk around in my Single Guy car as much as I want.

Yup, That will definitely keep the women away. Then again, they may look at you as a project? lol...

I love not having to make a 'normal' dinner every night. That's probably my equivalent to Lynx's messy car. We probably all have our lazy stuff we like to do when no one else has to deal with us on a daily basis.

No no no, it's not a deliberate effort to keep women away. It's all about efficiency, comfort and quality of life. All the stuff I need is in the car... somewhere... and I don't have to bother with organizing it because I know where what I need is when I need it. It's a carefully planned system of optimal resource positioning to maximize...

Okay it's sheer indolence and indifference. But WHO CARES?! I'm single!

Welcome to CC! You already found the cool folks, so you'll get along fine. Just remember these simple maxims: if you really like coffee, bring your own, avoid the creamer in the fridge (nobody knows how long it's been there), and don't feed the trolls. :)

Lol. I guess there are some benefits to being single. I’m an introvert and I know that I need a considerable amount of time to myself, to think and read. I’m a writer and a nature photographer and that’s typically a solo experience. I’m ok with that. I just have to trust that the guy God pairs me with will understand that and support me.

You probably would enjoy it. For dinner you could bake your honey a loaf of your exceptional sourdough bread to go with her specialty made just for you.

Last time I messed up the car I had to pay for a $275 detail job that my wife insisted on.
