God gave us a model of perfection which should be our focus and emulation. If anyone is still under their parents' roof, they are under their parents authority. Young adults should not even be in such a position, but if they are then they are definitely under parental authority.

And grown women should certainly not be in that position. The Bible encourages young women and young widows to marry, bear children, and manage their households.
