Jesus called us his bretheren: He is the first born of every creature.
This thing about Jesus is a creature, but he also is God?
He is a creature for a little while, but then he is also God?
This only tells me that there is confusion. There are holes in this doctrine that need to be patched up. Or just ignore. Thats what the christian world is doing. when we are in heaven, jesus will explain.

BABYLON THE GREAT DOES NOT BELIEVE JESUS IS GOD.

every false prophet/cultist in the world who is against Christ's Church uses this verse against her (just as they use ALL the curses against the apostate members of Israel who refused(s) the Christ against those who DO receive Him (jew and gentile)...the pattern is SO OBVIOUS).

too bad they can't "hear" the Voice of The Good Shepherd.

too bad they don't know who BABYLON THE GREAT HARLOT is even after they have been shown over and over (actually, THEY DO).

makes one wonder WHO they are shilling FOR.

Revelation 17:5
And upon her forehead [was] a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Matthew 12:27
And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.

The Talmud (Babylonian edition) records other sins of "Jesus the Nazarene":
  1. He and his disciples practiced sorcery and black magic, led Jews astray into idolatry, and were sponsored by foreign, gentile powers for the purpose of subverting Jewish worship (Sanhedrin 43a).
  2. He was sexually immoral, worshipped statues of stone (a brick is mentioned), was cut off from the Jewish people for his wickedness, and refused to repent (Sanhedrin 107b; Sotah 47a).
  3. He learned witchcraft in Egypt and, to perform miracles, used procedures that involved cutting his flesh—which is also explicitly banned in the Bible (Shabbos 104b).

hi PPS, brother.

this question is for you only:)

what is the mininum threshold for salvific faith, (and by what means is that faith received - where does it come from and exactly what is it)?

maybe we could do it using a hypothetical conversation (i know you are a minister):

let's say i am 7 years old (i'll be Billy), and i say something like:

"my friend Bobby's grandpa died, but he isn't even sad! he said his grandpa will be in Heaven with Jesus....what does Bobby mean?"

This is the question I've posed to Red and whomever else. When any semblance of an answer comes back, it's always Trinity.

I think the example of 7yo Billy presents quite a dilemna for presenting doctrine to children. I'm very cautious and prayerful on an individual basis with young kids. I made a profession of faith and was no-name baptized when I was 7. It wasn't salvific. I spent the next 28 years as I see many others doing now.

ok. fair enough:D
Billy could be 17....(but Billy could turn into a 17 year old strawman, so let's forget Billy).
all i was getting at was after the initial signs of interest in Jesus by Billy (which COULD be evidence of Billy being drawn to Calvary), does Billy ever discover Jesus is God?

or is the testimony of the Holy Spirit to Billy that Jesus IS NOT GOD?

just hypothetical anyways. no need to respond PPS.

see ya later, Billy:D

Tell us of the group you are referring to and tell us that your statement doesn't apply to you and every poster on this site. I do not care to answer any of his incessant questions of unbelief that he brings to the table just to be contrary to the doctrine of Christ and other matters concerning the things of God. I will not give a person God's speed who outwardly denies that Jesus Christ was God in the flesh. Maybe you will coddle him in his unbelief but I have conviction from the scriptures not to. What do you think of that?

But I adamantly, vociferously, and unequivocally affirm Jesus was God in the flesh, but you sweep me up in the same dustpan.

The scriptures are right there for any of us to learn from by humbling ourselves under the mighty hand of God and putting ourselves under a pastor-teacher that God has raised up for the church who has been called to preach and teach the word and doctrine and to edify God's body. I am just a lay person as I have mentioned many times before, but some like to be foolish and even lie about that. There is a reward for those who like to lie.

When you say church you obviously think your church is Gods church, same with the other churches. their church is automaticly Gods church. unfortunately not so.
For god is very angry with all the churches for a good reason. So question is; Am i in the right one, what if i am not, how can i find out? Seek the scriptures.

where have we heard this before?

He is obviously not the first baby born in this world.
You say he is not a created being; you are contradicting the scripture, for the scripture says creature. You need to search for the answer to this mystery if you are interested.
Or just let it be.

Well... at least you've finally clarified the core of your doctrine for everyone.

I think my whole point in response was that salvation is an individual revelation by the Spirit rather than education of men.

I believed the Father was God and THOUGHT and SAID I understood Jesus and the HS were God. I didn't truly know that Jesus was God.

I was given every possible Trinitatian explanation imaginable, and it wasn't salvific. I was indoctrinated.

That's how I became a Dispensationalist, too, so I'd think you might understand. :-)

Sadly, I don't know that anyone else on the forum knows what you're actually talking about. :-(

It's coming.

Jesus Christ is the Creator and God the Second Person of the Trinity.
I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is No Saviour.
Isaiah 43:11Agree
Jehovah here speaks and says there is no Saviour beside Him.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:11
Now if the Tanakh states that only God can be Saviour, would not this make Jesus Christ God.yes but not the father.(mystery)

Isaiah 9:6-7 calls Jesus Mighty God, and Everlasting Father. If I understand right Jehovah Witnesses teach that Mighty God, never refers to Jehovah. So I really am puzzled about Isaiah 10:21, for Jehovah is called Mighty God here.God (Jehovah) is the ALLMIGHTY.

If I read the following verse right God could not have a helper in Creation.
Thus saith the LORD, they Redeemer, and He that from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone: that spreadeth abroad the earth by Myself.
Isaiah 44:24
According to this scripture God did not creat someone and then created everything else with that someone help. So as AnandaHya stated, Paul used the word prototokos inColossians 1:16 which we translate as firstborn. But this word doen't mean first created but instead--first in rank, pre-eminentome, heir. All believers in Christ are heir by adoption, but Christ who is eternal for He is the I Am (John 8:58). Yes the I Am (if I understand right the NWT
yes Jesus said; Before abraham was I AM. Who is speaking inside jesus? Jesus said also, WHAT MY FATHER SAY THAT I SPEAK. SO WHO IS THE I AM? Dont forget he is the word of God. God speaks,Jesus speaks. God say go there,he goes there. Jesus also says i was with my father before; yes, before he was made flesh He was the word with God,and the word was God. Your word speaks on your behalf; and your word is you. and your word is with you.
translate this verse "I have been" yet the greek words Ego eimi is translated I Am evrywhere else in the Gospel of John in the NWT (John 4:26; 6:35,48,51; 10:7,11,14; 11:25; 14:6; 15:1,5; and John 18:5,6,8.) john 4:26. i that speak to you am he. Who is HE?
HE IS THE MESIAH; The son of God.

I know you commented to AnandaHya something about not using a library, but many of these disagreements go to what does the Greek mean. So she had to do that to explained this.

The greek library wont explain anything spiritual, only the holy spirit can.

If you dont depend on the holy spirit to give understanding, and dont have patience, you will likely go somewhere else for the answer. Have patience keep on reading.

Your questions have been answered many times, and yet you persist in ignoring the answers, and continuing to ask the same questions over and over. Why do you insist that our God, and His word is confusion? Is this preferable to the credible explanations that have been offered to explain the quoted scriptures within the context of the entire written word?

Our God is not a God of confusion, but a God of order.

Galatians 1: 6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel-- 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.

To be honest, I would be astonished to find a person who has spent considerable time studying the bible in fellowship with Holy Spirit, who would even suggest that Jesus had been created.

I have asked you what your purpose is, and you have not answered. Are you trying to sow disunity and disorder among Christians? Are you bored and just enjoy being argumentative? Are you just looking for attention? Are you really that lacking in the knowledge of the word of God? What is the answer?

Can you show to me my quote stating that Jesus is a creature?
That was Pauls quote(the apostle)not mine?

that passage is about eternal life, not HIDDEN KNOWLEDGE.

Jesus is THE DOOR (the strait gate into the Kingdom): when He opens, the sheep are safe and can go in and out:

John 10:9
"I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

the key of David (see Luke 3 - geneology of Jesus), the RIGHT TO RULE and receive into His Kingdom was allegorically given to Peter based upon his profession of faith*

Isaiah 22:22
I will give him the key to the house of David--the highest position in the royal court. When he opens doors, no one will be able to close them; when he closes doors, no one will be able to open them. (NLT)

Revelation 3:7
“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: ‘The words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens. (ESV)

exactly; Peter said you are the mesiah the SON OF GOD. and jesus says that GOD revealed it to him. Why should we change that to Jesus is God? Are we wiser than God?
*
Matthew 16
Peter Confesses Jesus as the Christ
13 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14 And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rockb I will build my church, and the gates of hellc shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosedd in heaven.” 20 Then he strictly charged the disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ.

and here is Peter "using" the keys:

Acts 2:38
And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

God reveals it to Peter to say YOU ARE THE SON OF GOD. why should we oppose that by saying he is God; JESUS IS GOD; GOD DIED FOR US??? this is degrading God.

wakeup:
i know full well you got your "theology" outside the "word of God".
please just get real?

Do you mean i have been reading some other book,is that what you mean?
Or i belong to some cult religion; As i said before i am against religions. God is not religion.I only have the favourite King james.

so.....Red is responsible for people who "become puddles in the landscape"?
ah...NO. he isn't.

self-appointed prophets and cults are.

That was not specificly to Red, but to the churches that are closing up the flocks minds.
Never get personal thats not the idea.

John 3
You Must Be Born Again
1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesusa by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” 3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born againb he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.c 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘Youd must be born again.8 The winde blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
Please note, is this confersation between Jesus and nicodemus about baptism or about being born again out of the womb?
John 1
9 The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11 He came to his own,b and his own peoplec did not receive him. 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 (John bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.’”) 16 And from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God; the only God,d who is at the Father’s side,e he has made him known.

Acts 2:38
And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

2 Corinthians 1
20 For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. 21 And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, 22 and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.e

728. arrabón

an earnest (a part payment in advance for security)

Original Word: ἀρραβών, ῶνος, ὁ
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: arrabón
Phonetic Spelling: (ar-hrab-ohn')
Short Definition: an earnest, earnest-money
Definition: an earnest, earnest-money, a large part of the payment, given in advance as a security that the whole will be paid afterwards.

This born again confersation between Jesus and nicodemus was not about babtism.
Why have the christian world mistaken this for babtism,is beyond my comprehension.

If I lack these things you claim and have no power and could not be led of the Spirit, I assume that you do have what I lack. If that is true, are they of your own town listening to you and is it more than just a few? For if you are speaking for God then you must have a good audience. Where you live must be the place that God had called you by grace to let your light shine. Depending upon how long you have lived in your town and having the power of the Spirit and the right gospel for the salvation of the lost, approximately how many souls have you seen been saved through your preaching and what kind of fruit have you witnessed? Should we know you by your fruit as you profess to know me by my fruit?

Thank you for this post, it gives me opportunity to respond

Firstly, you in your heart most certainly do believe you have been raised up as a teacher/preacher of the word. I am grateful in your last post you did not seek to deny it, as obviously then you would be seeking to deny what you believe is your calling from God
I have never once hinted or suggested on these forums that I have been raised up as a teacher/preacher of the word, thereofre you canot use the argument to me that has been placed before you
As to any fruit GOD HAS PRODUCED in my life, or the lack of fruit in my life, that I will be called to account for on the day of judgement, it is certainly not for you to decide. And if any fruit had come forth from my life BY GOD IN ME I would not come to a site like this and proclaim it.

But we have something here that is beyond my understanding, truly we do. We have people who in their hearts believe they have great knowledge of the Bible and the Christian faith. They discuss many subjects in Christianity including Babylon the Great. They believe they can expound the scriptures and explain them fully and truly to those who go to church and have for years been Christians. They have so much knowledge from learning and studying the word and/or various theologiuans and scholars
And yet, they do not accept the basic, core Gospel message of the Christian faith. But as man can do they will turn any plain truth to whatever their human mind wishes to, and be blind to the simple truth they are trying to overturn

I have asked you and those who think like you do to provide me with just one verse of the following from the whole of the NT and as you must, you have all failed to do so

A verse where Christ stated
Unless you believe I am God Himself you can have no eternal life

A verse where any NT writer says

Unless you believe Christ is God Himself you can have no eternal life

A verse where Christ states

I am the one true God Himself

A verse that Christ states

You must believe I am the one true God Himself

And yet, although not one of you can produce one single verse of scripture in the NT that states the above you eagerly it has to be said tell others they can have no eternal life unless they believe Christ is God Himself

So you believe in a Bible where the plainest of statements Christ made cannot be accepted, but we in effect have a Bible where it is hinted at(if YOU are right) the basis of the Christian faith

For Christ plainly stated only one requirement. Believe I am the son of God

He did not add to that as you and others in 'your wisdom' have.

So I am left wondering. Are you, Zone and some others a true reflection of those in church? I somewhat doubt you are, and I hope I am right, for if people do not accept the basics they cannot understand the rest.

So why do you and others see this subject so differently from me?

Well as you know. I believe the fulness of the Godhead bodily rests in Christ. And to use your much travelled quote
I believe the Father was manifest in the flesh of Christ. And I believe Christ is the son of God, and there is no way to the Father but by the son, ands I bel.ieve the son of God came and died for our sins, but then we diverge

The reason?

You have the plainest of statements in the Bible as opposed to the human reasoninig of man. And for you anmds so many like you it is no contest, the plain statements of the Bible have to come second.
Becasue asuredly to you and so many who in their hearts believe they have great understanding and knowledge(knowledge that puffs up) a Christianity of simple childlike faith and a total reliance on the Holy Spirit would be offensive to you in your hearts, for that woud not allow you the vanity of believing you by what YOU KNOW and YOU have learned is so superior to what others knopw

The pride of man has always been his true downfall and from those who demand non biblical beliefs as you do I can say with utter confidence they are being driven by pride.

I would far prefer a simple Christianity of the plain statements of the Bible concerning everlasting life than one that HAS to be built by the hiuman mind that then simply will not accept the plainest of statements in the Bible
Pride so often has been the downfall of man

Isn't the gospel of Christ when God came through His Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and became sin to condemn sin in the flesh that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him (Rom 8:3, 2Cor 5:21)? For sin to be judged, God had to be manifest in the flesh through the person of His Son and take the sins of the world upon His body and suffer death, for the wages of sin is death (1Pt 2:24, Gal 1:4, 1Jn 2:2). But on the third day He rose from the dead that we might believe and have life everlasting (1Cor 15:4, Jn 3:16, 1Tim 1:16). We believe that God was in Christ on the cross reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them (2Cor 5:19). This is the word and ministry of reconciliation that we have been given as able ministers of the gospel of Christ (2Cor 5:18,19, 2Cor 3;6, Rom 15:16). God did die for our sins in the body and humanity of Jesus (Phil 2:8) but He rose from the dead and conquered death (Rom 6:9, Heb 2:4)

Your afraid that if I came to your town and preached the gospel that I just might be received because the common people heard Him gladly. Your afraid that I just might be able to identify with the down and outers and the weak and the prostitutes and the homeless and the drunkards and those that are hurting and that they might be gloriously saved by the grace of God and that kind of fruit might be bursting out ever where in all places and remain. Your afraid that God might demonstrate the power of His salvation in the heart of those that do not deserve it but hear the gospel and receive it and glorify God. Your afraid that Jesus Christ might just show Himself as Almighty God and supernaturally reveal His great love and mercy to hundreds and thousands of common people and those who have been brought low through the circumstances of life. Your afraid that if I showed up that God might show up with me, after all He did say that He would go with us to the uttermost parts of the earth and the ends of the world (Acts 1:8, Mk 16:15, Mt 28:20).
